So nice to see this game here. Almost no one knows it and it is a terrific Metroidvania, a very ambitious title for the OG Gameboy. I remember playing this game, Motocross madness and Link's Awakening a LOT when I was younger. Thanks for running this game, nice commentary, good crew in the back, excellent run! What else can you ask from a GDQ run?
I don't know if you can see this Zorlax, but I just wanted to congratulate you for this awsome run! I had no idea that this game was gonna be on SGDQ this year so I didn't catch it all live, but I've watched the whole run afterwards and it totaly rules. You made the game look way easier than it is. Great job! And thanks for mentioning me at the end :) /J.Y
World record of a category that doesn't exist? Edit: Actually, looking at the times, other than Zorlax, the next best any% is 29:18. So, doing his made up 100% category, he beat the any% world record.
all the speedrunners of this game are truly my heroes :) i beat the boss train & shredder on my gameboy (1HHHH2) :P but i was thrilled af, when i finally did it one day! because it took me a while to beat shredder in the 90s as a kid.. zorlax & any1 who cares about this game, for its lore, gameplay & all it brings to the tmnt series.. thanks for spreading more light on this game bc it deserves it, imo :) CONGRATS ZORLAX for achieving the WR !!!! THANKS GDQ for covering this game!!!!
28:48 Donatello's got one advantage over the other turtles in this game: you can hit small enemies without ducking. But I still prefer Michelangelo because hovering is OP
I wanna thank the sound team for muting the mics. Don't get me wrong, congrats on the world record, but as a headphone user that would have really really hurt.
I remember this game was insanely difficult and then after struggling for weeks I noticed a pattern in the password and found out the one that gives fully upgraded health and skips you to the final boss. I beat the game from there LOL
White hat guy
Just chilling
Lack of leg room
Slowly killing
Great run and entertaining runner. I hope to see him at many more GDQs.
Too much hype for the mikes to handle there at the end. Fun run! :D
#PrepareForButtle
I grew up with this game on the original Game Boy. It was *so cool* to see it at GDQ, a little bit of my childhood. Makes me want to play it again.
I remember the TV commercial, it had Mike and seeing this game in stores. Years later I played it and it is hard.
I remember getting this one Christmas as a kid. So many memories, especially the summers my cousin & I spent on it
A metroidvania Turtle game.
The world is an interesting place.

Did that text say "Prepare for buttle" when they rescued splinter?
@rocket grunt Didn't have trouble with the 1st boss, you can even loop him
@rocket grunt I think you mean metroidvania
17:46 classic zorlax :D

Great run, lots of fun.
Holy, I didn't think this time was possible. This TMNT game will give you a challenge, it's probably still the hardest.

Focus your powers... and prepare for buttle.
I had this game as a kid and indeed that first boss was brutal. All those times I had him down to one bar of health and still lost... :)

i watched it in the end of 2019 , found my old copy of this game and got hooked.
My pb is 34:21 on the japanese version
Zorlaxseven is a science teacher! Coool :)
had no idea Pitbull was a gamer xD
Dale.
And a Science Teacher too, apparently.
Mario Mäelt missing the Bud Light
What's wrong about Donatello? :(
For me as a 6-year-old boy back then, that first boss was so hard to beat that I rather analyzed how password works.
Pizza missed on purposed at 25:57 ? Was it a part of the 100 % ?
EikichiOnizuka yeah, you can only hold 1 pizza at a time.
Raphael is my favorite.
who is the hang loose guy?
Nostalgia!!!
Oh my God, this speedrunner's name is taken from How to Kill a Mockingbird.
He has my utmost respect.
Leonardo soloes shreder way more easily (and maybe even faster) by abusing the I frames of his drill
Childhood
Best tmnt game
Was this run after the controversy with the timer?
he's supposed to say "pain in the shell" not in the butt. really, think about the human kids.
