Speaking as a musician, I find that cover songs are often dull, because they are just copying the original artist. People love to hear new interpretations of older songs.
It took me a few times to really get used to this cover. Once I really listened to it, it really impressed me. The funk is a great take on the song and everyone musically is on fire. Great cover.
well if the cover is spot on with the original, what's the point of doing the song....i like the fact that a band who has been influenced by a band that can take a song and put their stamp on it!
It is spot on, because extreme, though I only like a couple of their songs, are more accomplished musicians than kiss. This was a one off, one take live recording they did on the spot in the studio, and they nailed it. It kind of shows how easy Kiss songs really are. It sounds like they were having fun, and adding in riffs from other songs.
i had this album back in the early nineties. I love this version, and Dinosaur Jr's Goin blind. I keep seeing comments that people think this is bad because it sounds like the original. It sounds to me like they are having fun. Like they really like the song. Paul Stanley sings background at one point. I guess those people don't actually like Kizz. I guess their rule that they made up, is that you have to do the song differently for it to be good. I do covers differently or the same depending on what I want to do. But now since it has come out what a prick Paul and Gene are to other band members, my view of Kizz has changed.
The Fonz He is. I had the video of the making of and Paul and Gene produced this album. Paul sings here and Gene does to in Calling Dr. Love. This tribute record was amazing.
@@Carlos-xz3vi they produced the Gin Blossoms and Anthrax tracks and that’s what you’re referring to from the video. This one wasn’t on the video and Gene and Paul aren’t on it.
I know this comment is a year old but I agree 100% that is Paul Stanley that comes in on the vocal at the 3:29 mark and sings the line "But when she walks she'll pass you..." at which point Gary comes back in and sings the next line. That is not Gary for that one line and it sounds identical to Paul's voice. I've thought this ever since I first heard it.
Paul sings in this song in that part. I had the vhs of the making of and shows him recording that part as well as Gene recording the spoken word on calling dr. Love from this same tribute album. They produced the album. It’s a tribute to them by them. A very Kiss thing to do.
The midtempo groove throws a curve ball but If you give a chance, not bad. thought If.they had the tempo between this and the original, kept kept it funky but a bit more driving it would he killing.(like Lenny's version of Duece). Good idea but just draggin a bit too much.
Uggg. As great as the vocals and drums are it seems like Nuno just phoned this one in. What a horrible cover. I love it when bands do their own take on another bands song but this one...no. Just no. Wish I'd never heard it.
This cover has been one of my favorites for years 🤘🏽🥰
It's 2020 and this sounds sweet...
I was blessed to get this album for Christmas one year.
Best cover on the whole album
A very awesome cover of KISS, great arrangement.
Why are people complaining and wanting cover songs to sound like the original song? If cover songs sound like the original then what's the point?
I think people just want a cover that does not suck. I love both bands. This version sucks. Most people agree with me. Get over it.
This is a song you crank up at any time!!

Love this version of Strutter, I think its really good!

Love it, those guys made it their own.
I'm impressed/ been a KISS fan since 1976 / gots a gentleman's club flair to it
Non sapevo che i miei adorati Extreme avessero fatto anche una cover dei Kiss! Grazie per la condivisione! 🙂
Extreme are legen - wait for it - dary!

Wow, it nearly sounds like Paul....which is awesome

Neai Tuppi Paul Stanley isn’t singing background.

Very extreme
Nem o KISS sabia que a música era tão boa😂🤘🤘Nuno monstro do funk metal..
great!
WOW!one&only!! かっこいい♡
Anyone else think that’s Paul Stanley at 3:29
kylecephus It’s not Paul Stanley. Nuno and Pat could sing harmonies.

Yup.... that’s Paul Stanley

great cover
GREAT COVER!!!
eeeesh... I cant get into it at all. HUGE fan of Nuno, but dang, I gotta say, this isn't for me.
And that's enough.....
I've heard of putting your own spin on a cover tune but this is ridiculous!
Someone get me the tabs for this amazing guitarsolo!
What is Nuno doin there with that trem??? I'D REALLY like to know....someone figure that frickin thing out and do a VIDEO
Is it just me, or was this album complete shit? A bunch of terrible bands trying to make Kiss songs edgy and hip.
I'm not feeling this. Extreme has some great songs but this is not one of them.
This is them doing a KISS song. You remember KISS, right?
I think it's great!
This sounds like their 'Punchline' era.
I thought it it was good. Great vocals by gary
Uggg. As great as the vocals and drums are it seems like Nuno just phoned this one in. What a horrible cover.

Oof!
Ummm...no
Sucks!
Phenomenal vocals. Terrible style choice, resulting in a typical lame Extreme sound. Ugh.
Ugh this sucks they ruined this awesome song !
Just no
Better than Kiss 🤷🏻♂️
I think worst cover I ever heard
Horrible cover!
Well, if Paul Stanley ever kicks the bucket...
Kenneth Carrier
Es tributo bro,
Al menos aprende la puta diferencia plox :v
Vocals are good. The rest sucks.
