I was prepared for the worst when I originally heard Garth friggin' Brooks was covering one of my favorite bands, but I'll give credit where credit's due - he knocked it out of the park here.
Yep, he did an absolutely amazing job. It's probably my favorite song by him. The whole album is absolutely amazing. I remember buying the cd the week it came out.
I remember when this song came out, this CD was a big hit amongst my friends. This song was by far the best and most underappreciated song on the whole star studded line up. Garth Brooks singing Kiss??? Man this song shreds and takes me back to that time as i was trying to find my way in life. I was running through siriusXM today and heard it for the first time in a while. Think i'll listen to it for the rest of the day. Cheers everyone!
I remember buying this CD over 20 years ago with all of those great groups doing covers of classic Kiss songs. Brings back good memories, man I miss that CD, thanks for posting this gem!
During college, I worked at a record store in one of our local malls when this album came out. As soon as we got this promotional CD to play in the store, all of us who worked there were really blown away with this cover! We wore this CD out, and we sold a LOT of these, long after it was released!
My brother put this on a mixtape for me in 1995 and I was like, "Garth Brooks, really? What the hell..." and was shocked by how good it was. I keep hoping it will appear on Spotify, but for now, I have to be satisfied with coming to UA-cam to listen to it, and enjoying the Kiss version on Spotify.
SUCH an AWESOME version of this beautifully ragged song ... thank you for posting and exposing it to some people who may not have had the pleasure of hearing it before :)
It is axiomatically true that rock and roll would not have been the same had KISS not come along and pushed the envelope when they did. Rock and Roll literally would not be what it is today without them.
This was one of out of maybe two tracks from Garth Brooks, this time with a cover of KISS 'Hard Luck Woman"- that got the attention of the TOP 40 Radio, back in 1994..rare track
Ummm what? Garth Brooks spent more time on the Billboard Hot 100 than any other solo singer of all time. The amount of time he's spent near/at the top of the charts is truly jaw-dropping
@@colinhays5823 Garth Brooks NEVER had a n.1 song in the HOT 100, it charted singles there sure…On the other hand Brooks rule the BILLBOARD Top 200 ALBUMS ,all the time,

@@ShockMe1994 Believe it or not it's true. KISS played this constantly & Garth is a huge KISS fan who'd been covering it for decades. They knew their shit.
French Paul 1988 there’s plenty other ways to enjoy music than on a cd. And, since youre such a fuckin smart and righteous music lover, you’re not supporting the artist when a cd (or record, or cassette) is out of print. You’re only paying the third party. No royalties go to Garth Brooks, KISS, or whichever label disseminated it. There, u learned something.
@countrygirl countrymusiclover because you are acting like a twat, I decided that I wanted to step in and help you and your shitty , know it all attitude. This song was written by Paul Stanley for Rod Stewart, but then he decided to keep it for his band instead. PAul was a big rod stewart fan, and was influenced by his music. Also, the Garth/Kiss collaboration was honestly done in one take. If you would use your head, and maybe research things yourself, you wouldn't have to act like as asswipe when others type things that you know nothing about. And turn off your caps key when typing, you look like an idiot that is yelling at people.
Not a Garth Brooks fan, but he absolutely killed this.

He was a Kiss fan so he wanted to do right by this song.
It was an ok KISS song. But as backward as it may seem, Gene can’t hold a candle to Garth singing this one.
@@k.stacey7389 Peter wrote and sang it but, yeah, Garth is a top-notch professional singer while Peter is, well, Peter.
Before Garth got a country music contract, he was in a Kiss cover band.
Garth does a great version of a classic song.
This is a KILLER SONG! Underrated! It's the only one that Kiss went "country" (SO TO SPEAK). AWESOME!
A good song is a good song, and this was a great version of it😎
Great cover. It fits his voice well.

Three decades ago Country met Heavy Metal to give this rendition. There was no culture clash. It was as smooth as it gets!

Technically this is a KISS version too as they are the band playing behind Garth and you can hear Paul singing backup vocals lol
My favorite track off this album!
SUCH an AWESOME version of this beautifully ragged song ... thank you for posting and exposing it to some people who may not have had the pleasure of hearing it before :)
Not a Brooks fan but he does this justice
how could you not be a Garth Brooks fan?
@Sam Squanch
A lot of us don’t like Garth or anything country.
@@martianshoesClassic country rules.
The only track on the album that KISS members participated in.
The only song on this album that Kiss actually played on!
One of the few cover songs that is on par with the original. Garth has the same scratchy voice that Peter Criss has.
It’s very good version 😊
Greetings from HongKong 🇭🇰🤗
Hope your doing well. KISS RULES!!
Wow......... At the memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my favorite song when I was 17. I caught a pike that summer that I had mounted. It's still on my wall.
super excelente esta cancón me encanta, me agrada, es lo mejor de muchas de Kiss
This song was the first Kiss record I ever bought. The 45 with Mr Speed as the B side
I love this song😍

If not for our first "Hello"

A child of the water
Too proud to be a queen
Rags, I really love ya

You'll be a hard luck woman

This is such a great album.
I am not a big KISS or Garth fan but love this song!
this song has my heart.
great version !
This is a surprisingly good cover. Gotta admit, I enjoyed it.
Una de las canciones mas bellas del mundo
Diego Suarez Amigo sabes cómo puedo encontrarla en Spotify? Te lo agradecería.
My son was born to this song twenty years ago still sounds great
Alan Gibson born to a song? Lol that’s pretty cool wish I was born to some Metallica, I’m 20 too haha
Kiss were playing the instruments in this track.
One of the best songs Garth Brooks ever did....
He rocked it
Love it
Creo que es la mejor de este disco.
Timeless....
Bravo!
A melhor versão de Hard Luck Woman
Not the biggest KISS fan...not the biggest Garth fan...but this is awesome!
Album says Kiss "regrooved", but really it has the same groove/feel, just a different singer..and it's good!
When the 'Kiss my Ass' CD was released, I was not happy to hear Brooke covered this song. But, its has grown on me....
Best kiss song
Garth Brooks said in a interview that he did other KISS cover tunes on stage before he hit it big.
He initially wanted to cover '"Detroit Rock City" for this album but they said no.
fun fact this is the first take they recorded
Is this true? That's incredible! Love Garth! Thanks for that fun fact!

America fucc yeah
Muy buena 2022
Until this came on the rock stations, I didn't even know who Garth Brooks was...
Fucking Amazing
Surprised this wasn’t a bigger hit.
Wonder how kiss feels about Garth totally OWNING this song??
Considering that KISS played backup for Garth on this particular cut, I'd say they were cool with it.
@@actionsub twas but a joke my friend, I know they were cool with it but Garth actually has some talent and took it to whole other level 👍💪👊

No!!
Absolutely NOT.
This song belongs to Peter Criss.
I always thought this was Garths song
Where I can find this song at Spotify? Is there someone can tell me?
I can' t find too
Raul Diaz I don’t think it’s on Spotify.
Not iTunes or Amazon. Wish I had the cd still (that I bought specifically for this song)
Crazy thought: buy the flippin' CD. That's how music is to be enjoyed and artists supported.

What I wonder is: Does Garth play this on tour?
To be fair it's basically a country song to begin with. There isn't anything much different about this and the original.
" You'll be a Harlot woman"...
Non aggiunge nulla all'originale, quasi simile a parte la voce ovviamente. Grande ballad
Rod Stewart should have done this, maybe he has?
Melisa Ethridge could do this too! Scratchy voice.
Paul wrote it for Rod stewart
Love the original…love.
Not so much on this one.
Don't get all butt hurt, I know they're buddies, just stating fact, Garth DOES IT BETTER
Garth did great, but Peter's version is better. This actually doesn't sound much like Garth's typical voice at all, maybe it was Chris Gaines lol.
Peter does this song the best.
countrygirl countrymusiclover fuck off already, quit acting like such a twat to everyone!
Peter Criss is the only fit for this song. No one can sing it like him.
Leo Lambert idk I like Garth's version of this song better and I never like covers more
Rob DeGolier Kiss is playing the music
Only its author Paul Stanley
