Big guard dogs too. Socialization will help, but always be careful when introducing them to new people or dogs. Though small, I’ve noticed that my Lhasa Apso doesn’t like to be seen as a small dog. He won’t hesitate to challenge big dogs. He loves his cuddles, but only for a few minutes. He doesn’t want to be seen as a lapdog. Even though he tends to be protective and attack strangers, he is very great with children. In fact, he will guard the children even if he doesn’t know them. Very patient with kids too, more than me to be honest lmao. They can be tugging at his ears and yet he stays calm. Do not let the lapdog appearance fool you. Lhasa Apsos are independent guard dogs at heart and should be treated as such. Also, cut the poor dogs hair. Unless it’s cold, it weighs them down and blocks their eyes. Though it’s pretty, it’s hard on the dog.
