  • This is the first time I have ever done anything like this before.
    I did this as a personal project as I wanted to see what other canvas' I could work on and really test my skills. I am REALLY happy with the way this turned out, but will apologise in advance for the length of the video!
    I know that's a lot to take in! I wanted to show the video off in all it's original glory without speeding past important details etc. This is around 67 hours condensed into under 20 minutes.
    I will be uploading a more condensed version in the near future so hit that subscribe button and select the bell to be notified on my latest post.
    Let me know what you guys think in the comments below and don't forget to like and share.

      Just saw some of your work. I would suggest starting an Instagram account solely for your art. You have natural talent, you're 100% going in the right direction. Keep pushing your limits and seeing what you can do, but most importantly, keep doing art you love making. Then it will never be boring or monotonous. With Instagram, to help your audience grow, try sticking to one subject at a time. For example, my instagram is filled with art I do on shoes mainly, then I've peppered in some mural work and hats etc. But they're all a similar style. Helps your audience gauge consistency in your work and helps them decide whether they want to follow you or not. But definitely start there and keep doing what you're doing and push your limits 🙌👍

      When the board is all the way down you have to manoeuvre it to your side and it can make drawing a little awkward. Left it til last so I could avoid the discomfort as much as possible basically. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment ❤

    I just bought a bamboo skateboard do you think I can do the same painting with this kind of material?

    • @artofglyph
      @artofglyph  3 роки тому

      I imagine you would, because with any skateboard you would need to prepare it first to be ready for painting. You would need to get the factory finish off the intended area you wanted to paint, then coat it with a paint primer so your artwork would stay on. You can prepare the area by lightly sanding the finish off, you need to get enough of a texture that the primer will have somewhere to attach once it's painted on. So it's entirely possible :)

    Hey, was there anything you needed to spray on the board before writing with pencil? I have blank boards and I spray painted a white glossy coat on them, but don’t know if they’ll work with the pencil

    • @artofglyph
      @artofglyph  4 роки тому

      Hi Gordon, I just used a white spray paint for the base layer, a few coats did the trick. I'm not sure if gloss would work, but I don't see why not. I'm just used to using something with a matte finish.
      I would try the pencil on a small area on the board, what's the worst that could happen? If it does mess up, either try erase the pencil marks or recoat it with the spray 😊
      Let me know how you get on and if it worked 😊

    Hey I don’t know if you will see this but, do you think I could paint over the graphic on a Board I have? I was thinking of doodling on it as it’s warped and unrideable 😂. Would I have to buy white spray paint first or can I just paint it white? I don’t really want to spray paint it as I don’t have a mask and for obvious reasons they’re not available right now but if you have any suggestions for other types of masks that would be great! Thanks and sorry for the long comment

    • @artofglyph
      @artofglyph  4 роки тому

      Hey, thank you for reaching out, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you! I'm just seeing your comment now!
      Okay, so there are a couple things you need to do to prepare your board. First is sanding off the old graphics so you're left with the deck underneath, once smooth, then white spray paint is the next step, this is important as the white will have more to adhere to now the old design has been sanded off and that there is a new base layer for your new paints to stick to with the white. Definitely pick up a proper face mask for spray painting, one that has a breathing canister in it preferably.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey dude. What coulor is that whitish that you use to put a little highlights on your characters?

    • @artofglyph
      @artofglyph  4 роки тому

      Hey, sorry I've just seen this comment! For whatever character I'm doing it for, I use add white acrylic to the main area and mix until it's light enough. So if it was purple skin, I'd mix some white in, then if I want to add another highlight, I will use plain white on it's own on top of the other highlight 🙂
