I'm just "not feeling it," with most movies these days. Perhaps I'm too old now and have higher standards, coloured by rose-tinted memories of the days of better writing....? LOL, NAHHHH! Most movies are shit these days.

Nah, you're right. Old movies had a magic to them that's only present in a handful of modern films. Nothing touches the original, but I did think afterlife caught a little bit of the magic that made the earlier movies special due mostly to Jason Reitman growing up in it. This one tried to replicate the magic of the replicant that was already replicating the magic of the original.
