Curious to see how they fair for everyday driving on michigan roads. Been eyeing a set of SX coilovers for my 335d. Great content as always man, looks great!
Bro! When you put your new wheels on I did comment about them being 'kinda' boring. I retract that comment. Slammed with a beautiful fitment now???? Dope! Stay safe bud!
Hey bro I just got a 335I about 3 months ago Love your channel I'm just getting started was kinda suspect about your rims but then saw this video today love them good job the car looks great keep up the good work look forward to your next video 👏👏
So recently bought into a 06 330xi and stumbled across your page and tbh this is the best content I could ask for, for everything DIY related to mods. Makes me fall in love with this model more and more thanks for the content and keeping up on it after so many year man !😁
Did you have Bilstein B8 dampers installed before the coilover install ?! I’m asking since B8 are known as very good performance dampers - so I’m asking myself if the coilover actually is a better ride?...or just a lower one ?!
the difference is that coilovers are fully adjustable. You can adjust the height, spring preload, camber and dampening. with the Bilstein shocks and struts you can't adjust anything. The dampening adjustment alone on the coilovers is a game changer. You can have them stiff for track or spirited driving, and in minutes adjust them to a soft setting for your ride home.
Justin Buice I understand B8 aren’t height adjustable, coil overs are. But, spring preload cannot be adjusted on coil overs, only the spring height and herewith the static load on each tire. I just wanted to know if the damping of the coilover is actually better than B8 !...assuming the coilover has been set up to an equal damping force as the B8
Justin Buice I would like to know too Justin because I use to have the B8’s on my 335i. How do these coil overs compare in comfort when they are set to the most comfortable setting?
great video, did my coilovers last summer, had some difficulties because my standart suspension wouldn´t come out without hitting my front fenders, looks a lot easier in your video greatings from Germany
Thanks! Sometimes you have to loosen some of the other bolts on the lower control arm so it will go down lower and the strut will clear the fender easier
I have a question of this coilover. What is the leftest parts which looks like gold rings next to spring, when you introduce the parts at 1:06? Even you seems like didn’t use it.
i have this exact same car with x drive system aswell. i got the bc extreme lows but when i maxed out the coils to the lowest setting my front axles didn’t like it and would have def broke if i hit a bad pot hole. any recommendations? it’s impossible to go super low with x drive 😭
Great vid, you’ll like them I don’t have the extreme low, but I love mine, have mine adjusted so the car sits low, but still have the OEM quality no bouncing around, once I finish up with upgrading the sway bars, bump stops and bushings, then I’ll adjust the dampening to compliment the other parts. Can’t wait to hear you take on the BC’s
Looks good, you need an electric impact in your life haha. You don’t even need to touch the Allen on the shocks if you have an impact the shaft won’t spin
Justin! Those two golden rings that have their own boots that are shown at the very beginning of the video, starting @ 00:58 seconds in the extreme lower left. Do you know of any use for those? I see they fit onto the rear springs instead of the rubber boots that you can see are placed on your rear springs at that same second mark. Are those just to make the spring even stiffer? I can't find any info on those and @ 13:51 yours don't have them on there so I'm assuming you just left them laying around somewhere?
12:12 That "I'm helping" face XD, cool wheels tho, at first i thought what the f is he doing, but whenever i see them I start liking them more and more
Do you need to upgrade anything else when putting coils on these cars such as control arms or bushings or anything of the sort? I have an x-drive model not sure if that matters
What are those other aluminum cups with the rubber gaskets on them? I got a kit for me xdrive e90 and idk what those other 1inch metal spacers are for?
Need to do this to my e92. I have the original ones and it’s time for a change. How long was the total time and I’m glad you had a friend to assist you. Sick ride bro! Last night I did a total coolant flushed. Haven’t seen you done one. Highly recommend it - only took me two hours.
Did you have to change the front links ??? Because I got bc on my car my oem link are to tail I had to get adjustable one to go low. Cause the OEM was stopping me from going low
I have question iv just installed bc racing a week ago amd i have a loud thus noise coming from the front passenger side every time i go over a small pot hole or bump at a certain speed amd above any ideas
Hi, I have a quick question please can you tell me if it's okay to buy the E46 Android to install on a BMW3 316ti compact. If can't please recommend an alternative. Thanks
Were the set of coilovers for the rwd and they fit for your awd or did you find an awd specific coilover set? I cant find an awd bc racing coilover set fory 335i xdrive and the regular 335i says it wouldn't fit the awd models.
I live in Slovakia, and the government basically doesn't allow any mods. If you add anything, that the original car that came from the factory didn't have (change wheels, turbos, etc.), you'll get into trouble... LOVE YOUR VIDS
That's too bad. Where I live, they don't do any vehicle inspections of any kind. Not even emissions. The only thing police will pull you over for is illegal window tint. Other than that, they don't care :)
Seems like more hassle & money than it’s worth. I have a m sport e90 & the gap is already minimal enough. Would it not be easier to buy one inch size bigger wheels (with the correct fitment of course)?
Justin Buice They claim on their website, 12 hp and 16 torque and for me, the car does feel way more peppy, like it pulls slightly more and the sound it makes is just so good. would definetly recommend!
J Costa it’s stiffer than before but I have the dampening on the stiffest setting. I think you could potentially make these softer and more comfortable than the Bilsteins since these are adjustable
It's hard to say because both the spring perch and the shock have a height adjustable collar. I'm not sure if just replacing the spring would make them lower
The stock ones are torqued to 25 lb ft. I assumed that the BC's are torqued to the same spec. Unfortunately There were very little instructions with this kit.
Great vid. Maybe it’s just the way the video was shot but when your friend was trying to loosen the rear upper nut he was tightening it, turning it to the right. 😐
Gustavo Castillo this was shot in 1080 on the EOS R and upscaled to 2K. It’s a neat trick because when you upload in 2k or 4k, youtube processes it at a much higher bitrate so the video appears to be higher resolution
@@justinbuice Ohh, okay, makes sense! I was kinda confused at first when the option for 1440p was available, since I recall in a video you stated anything shot above 1080p takes longer to process lol
Hi there! First off I would like to thank you for all the great videos you make I’m a huge fan! I also got almost the same car as yours except it’s an LCI 2011 328i xDrive and it’s Alpine Weiss. I’m in the dilemma of upgrading my OEM suspension to stiffen up my ride and closing my fender gap as well since I’m running 18x9 ET 31 Apex EC-7 wheels in the summer. I can’t wait to see your review on your BC coil overs so I can sort things out about going with coil overs or your old setup (Bilstein B8s with lowering springs). The dilemma here is that We have harsh salty winters here and I want my car to stay my daily all year 😉
Love the how-to videos, Justin. Great result, too!
Thanks!

"Quarantine garage" lol good one! Informative video!

Patrick Flores I appreciate that! Glad you are enjoying the videos and the car 😎
Will you ever do an LCI conversion of the headlights, hood, and taillights? Great stuff Justin... stay safe!
Thanks! Maybe one day

Love the stance justin 🚘😍 and those wheels 🔥
That Beamer Guy thank you!
Good job jb but quick question what goes at the bottom of the spring on the rear
Ben Troy There’s a rubber pad that the spring sits on that’s included in the kit.
@@justinbuice so that goes on the bottom of the spring when being installed? Or is that optional

these coilovers fit both the e90 and e92?
to adjust rear, which way to you spin the lock collar to loosen? Same as front or opposite direction.
Did you have to change the front links ??? Because I got bc on my car my oem link are to tail I had to get adjustable one to go low. Cause the OEM was stopping me from going low
Did you reuse the oem sway bar end links? Or did you swap them out with the bc racing ones ?
When you adjust the rear do you have to reset preload again or can i adjust the height like a few mm or so without having to do all that?
would you say these are more worth it than the lowering springs and shocks and struts ?
Have you ever made a video on how to raise / lower the rear? As it is a separate coil and shock setup
Life hack 13:54 if the back still too high do not put this you loose adjustability but you go low low
Ah this is no life hack..its just bad advice
@Justin Buice What did you have on there before? A cup kit? Looks like the B8 or B12?
I have question iv just installed bc racing a week ago amd i have a loud thus noise coming from the front passenger side every time i go over a small pot hole or bump at a certain speed amd above any ideas

Do you have the link for the spacers and the longer lug nuts you got for your Bimmer?

Thank you.
What kinda spacers u got? And where u get them from?
Car looks sick! Just wondering, what spring rates did you get for them?

I appreciate it :)
Clean!!! 💦 liking these wheels the more I watch

Did you install your stabilizer link into the coilovers
Where did your window trim chrome delete go?
@Justin Buice how is the ride quality? More comfortable than the Bilsteins or about the same?
J Costa it’s stiffer than before but I have the dampening on the stiffest setting. I think you could potentially make these softer and more comfortable than the Bilsteins since these are adjustable
Just curious if u sold the Bilstein struts already?
I have the regular bc’s but they’re are max low in the rear, if I got the swift spring upgrade for the super lows, would that make me go lower?
It's hard to say because both the spring perch and the shock have a height adjustable collar. I'm not sure if just replacing the spring would make them lower
I think you should invest in some FL taillights. They will really change the look of the car.
Where is the custom spring rate option?
Great Video Justin, sorry about you back.
I'm getting my bmw 320i soon and all I want is to make it unique
You have hole in the middle covered with plastic cover to remove middle not.. you don't have to remove the whole filter assembly
Good to know for next time
I wanna go lower than this, so what coilovers can go lower?
would this work with front and rear spacers?
just so you know, you stripped the allen on the rear strut because its a 6mm and you guys used a 5mm. Other than that great job!!
Lmao I said the same thing😅
you can get the 13mm nut off with an open end wrench, this way you dont even have to take off the strut brace
How do you adjust the rear height?
What are the tightening torque spec for the 3 bolts on top of the struttower?
The stock ones are torqued to 25 lb ft. I assumed that the BC's are torqued to the same spec. Unfortunately There were very little instructions with this kit.
What spring rate do you have? Nice e90! 😉😉
Great vid. Maybe it’s just the way the video was shot but when your friend was trying to loosen the rear upper nut he was tightening it, turning it to the right. 😐
Men love your videos, and your BMW its look clean! Hope to get one again :D
Peace V
Oh crap he did it 🤣. Might have to copy you on my e90 now lol. Looks good as always bro👍🏼
Thanks man!
Dang bro I didn't know you had such problems with the old suspension haha. I'm glad I don't live in Michigan with all of that rust 😅
what wheels are those
How long does it take to be shipped to your door?
Mine took two weeks, but the wait might be longer now due to the virus.
Justin Buice alright thanks, video really help me choose because I have 328xi & front wheel gap was driving me crazy 🤦🏽♂️
looks a lot better!

WHT KIND OF RATCHET ARE YOU USING?
Just a standard craftsman one. At the end of the video we put a steel pipe on the handle to get more leverage
almost dialed in... spacers, alil more camber in the back... she'll be sittin pretty
about to go play with the rear camber right now
u need side skirts, lci hood, and lci front double slotted grills😄
It will hit humps. So difficult in carparks etc
That's why I got height adjustable ones.
Keep your b8 and send them out to fatcat motorsports for revalve. It's expensive. Look them up.
