I like that... so classy looking. I see a comment below that someone has had one for 2 years! We have been BUYING WATER for 17 YEARS! I may have to check this out. All that plastic we are using! THANK YOU!!! Off to read about it!
Jayne Brown my mom has been using bottled water for many years too, I have my dad convinced... now I just need to convince her 😂🤦🏻♀️ It’s gonna be tough.
I have the exact same one I invested in a Berkey around 2 years ago I love it the water is perfect it has no electricity and we've been using it ever since that's the only water we drink you'll be very happy with it we bought all eight filters and that's what I've been using since I clean them periodically put the water through them and then put them back
I’m on well water and we use reverse osmosis system. This cleans ALL the water. Before we had lots of iron in our water, resulting in clothes with rust stain and the water was ruining all oh our faucets with rust buildup. We are very happy with our system.
Gail Jernigan we definitely compared it to reverse osmosis but in the end we decided to go with the Berkey. Of course, different circumstances definitely call for different remedies. I’m glad that option is working great for you! 🥰
Y'all are so cute together. Love the matching shirts. Great video and information on the Berkey system. I'm definitely going to check them out. Have a great day and week Yami.
Thanks for this helpful video! You explained the system so clearly, I've shared it with a few people in talking about these filters. Through much research I also concluded it to be the best, though am looking to actually run water quality sample tests to prove the efficacy to others. The taste difference is akin to the mineral crisp quality of spring water, but cleaner!
I just bought the Travel Berkey system since it is just me & my husband. When I was looking they didn't have any dent & scratch ones to save some more money but I was able to get on sale.
Jackie Burns Creations you may very well already have a good filtration system, but when we looked at what we had and the impact the water had created on the existing fixtures we knew we needed something stronger especially since we have small children. 🥰
🤣 twinsies!! Lol me and my husband do that every now and then sometimes im like 🤦♀️ ill change and other times im like who cares lol depending where were goin😊 thanks for this review looking into getting one for our next place 🏡❤
Great question! It has not and I was surprised too! You would think that kids would figure out a way to make it leak quick, but as of right now we are leak free. 😉
Hey, question for you! Do you have a softener on your well..? I really want a Berkey but my well has a serious softener and I read that using softened water with a Berkey isn't a good idea (it just makes the filters go bad much faster). In my research I found your video and wanted to ask. Thanks! and super cute video...!
Thank you! We have a water filtration system in the basement for the water that comes into the house, but not a water softener. However, I have seen the wear on our current faucets and surfaces and we definitely need to invest in one. Not sure how that will impact us with the Berkey, but we will definitely not stop using it for sure. We never realized what we were missing until we purchased it.
The Latina Next Door - Thanks for replying! I actually emailed Berkey and apparently the salt used in softening really degrades the filters, so you should bypass a softener if you have it (you don’t, but just adding that in case anyone else reads this & it may help them). Still going to get a Berk whenever they’re back in stock just to have, and going to do reverse osmosis/remineralizing in the meantime. Thanks again, wish you guys the best!
cutsiename honestly, amazing! No after taste, and completely odorless. We took some with us in some canteens over our Thanksgiving trip and when we ran out we had to purchase bottled water.... and we immediately noticed the difference. 😕 We won’t be forgetting to bring extra next time!! And by the way we have a fridge that you can hook up to our water line and use as standard filter and we don’t even have it hooked up. We don’t drink from that kind of filtration system anymore at all.... now to convince my mom! 😆
@@TheLatinaNextDoor Thanks for letting me know. We have probably spent thousands of dollars on bottled water and have constantly looked for a filtering system. We live in a small town that has it's own filtration system and the water is awful. Glad you posted this. First hand knowledge is so much more trustworthy. Gonna give this one a try.
We had a well once that couldn't supply enough water to our home. We had red mud pump into all of our water use appliances our pump and pipes. We also couldn't flush the toilets after every use. The owner did not disclose that the well wasn't deep enough to supply our home. We got stuck with tens of thousands of dollars in damages and getting a new well dug. We didn't have much money back then so we were forced to sell our home just to pay for everything and we had just remodeled the entire house. We didn't loose our shirts in the sale but I will never ever purchase another home with a well only water supply.
Bettylou oh I’m so sorry to hear about your experience! Luckily we haven’t experienced that in our home. Our water pressure is great thankfully and we do appreciate having our own supply. 🥰
Terry Campbell yeah unfortunately California legislation has created a lot of red tape and demands high taxes for in-home water filtration systems, even though they meet NSF certifications required by the state.

We are on a well system too! Very informative, thank you.
Me and my daughter have a Berkey...love it

Hi Yami!! Great water filter!! With a well, you got to be extra careful and you guys got a perfect one!! Way to go guys!! 👏👏👏💧💧💧😉😉😉
I just bought the Travel Berkey system since it is just me & my husband. When I was looking they didn't have any dent & scratch ones to save some more money but I was able to get on sale.
That's great! You will love it! And I think it's so great that they offer scratch & dent deals as well. 💕
Good info Yami thank you!!
Does the tank have to sit close to the sink, to be connected to the faucett? or does it sit freely away from the sink? Thanks
Not at all. We just use a large glass pitcher to fill it up. I never placed it near my sink because my area was too small for it. Hope that helps! 😊
Lots of luck to you !
I am on well water. I guess I will check it out.

TFS Yami most homesteading families use the Berkey system.
Cindy Finn yes! Another reason we looked into it! We hope to have our own “mini” homestead here in the next few years. 🥰
@@TheLatinaNextDoor That is awesome I adore the homesteading channels so much it will be fun to watch your journey.

We used to do it on purpose when we dated, LOL! But now he does it so he can get credit for the idea. 🙄
I like the twinning 😂🤣
Vilma Carmona I swear he did it on purpose 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I actually had my shirt on first.
LATINO ENGINEER you lie! 😆
Does the spout drip at all? I'm wondering if you'll need something on the floor to catch water that drips out, maybe from when the kids use it?
Great question! It has not and I was surprised too! You would think that kids would figure out a way to make it leak quick, but as of right now we are leak free. 😉

Does it take the smell and weird taste out of well water too?
Yep! It removes everything!! We love our water.
Thanks so much for the quick response! I have been debating one for a while now! I appreciate your input!
The stats are wonderful but when it comes down to it how is the taste?

Yay! I am so glad to hear you have had it for so long! We love it, it's like a member of the family now. ☺️

In California these are illegal...sad but true
Terry Campbell yeah unfortunately California legislation has created a lot of red tape and demands high taxes for in-home water filtration systems, even though they meet NSF certifications required by the state.
The fluoride is good for your teeth though.😀
Theresa Rasche correct, fluoride is okay to apply onto your teeth, but studies show it’s not good to ingest. 😊💕
@@TheLatinaNextDoor hmmmm did not know THAT😬❤
