In this video, I’ll show you why every investor needs pre-IPO investments. I’ll show you how private equity investing works and an app that opens this world up to everyone. I’ll then reveal three pre-IPO investments you can invest in right now including Elon Musk’s SpaceX!
Those of you in the community know, this is where I got my start, as an analyst for venture capital and a part of the market most investors never see. This is where you see some of the best returns for investors. In a study comparing private equity returns across 2,100 funds against the MSCI world equity index, that pre-IPO private equity investing has beaten in every time period. Over the last 20 years, private equity investing has produced a 12% annual return, more than twice the return on the stock index.
Private equity is investing in startups that aren’t ready to issue stock on the public markets so these companies go to firms like Google Ventures and Peter Thiel to get funding until they’re ready to IPO. Sometimes called angel investing, it’s this early-stage funding for new companies that helps helps the company grow to the point where it can sell shares in an IPO or attract a buyout from a larger company.

The SpaceX investment round closes August 18th and is valued at $69 per share. There are still lots of other early stage investments available on the app though including other Elon Musk companies.

I'm a little confused on why this would be a good idea. Based our you screen shot of Dizraptor fees, there is a 5% "mgmt fee" on initial investment and then a massive 20% carried interested on the net profit once you sell? so that great 27% return just drooped to under 5%. What am I missing? Do I have that wrong? THX.
Same fees as on any private equity or VC deal. That's the market, at least 2% annually and 20% profits

@@josephhogue this seems to be a scam. I noted in their terms of service and contracts that they are NOT registered nor will be registered with SEC . claiming a D class filing has no implication of registration .

This seems like a pretty important piece of information to leave out since you require a net worth of over $1 million, which disqualifies over 80% of the country's population and likely a siginificant portion of your audience. seemed a little suspicious/dodgy when this was left out but when using deceptive statistics like that...

Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary (Mr. Wonderful) have start-up platforms that accept anyone. John's platform has a $49 sign-up fee. And has a premium level which costs more to access all the offerings. I am in both. So far I haven't invested in any start-up opportunities because none of them have excited me...yet. Many of them have $900 or so minimum investments, some just $50 and prices in-between.
O'Leary's is called Startengine and John's is Angels & Entrepreneurs.
Will have to check out A&Ebut have seen StartEngine, good platform. I think Wefunder and Republic is open as well.
so in order to invest in spacex we need to be an accredited investor... which most of us are not... whats another way around this?
There are a couple platforms open to everyone (wefunder and republic)...unfortunately they don't always get the best deals.
The accredited investor rule is from the SEC so really no way around it. Just the government’s way of keeping people out of the best investments
Joseph, I'm having trouble vetting Dizraptor. There's not much info online about them. I can't find any meaningful reviews and it seems like they are pretty new. In addition, the 5% management fee + 20% net profit fee are extremely hefty. Besides the SpaceX pre-IPO risk, I see a HUGE risk in Dizraptor itself. They do seem to hold the "shares" in a SPV based in Delaware. But I don't see any guarantees that the founders or the company are legit. I also can't see that the SPV is able to purchase SpaceX "shares". It would be good to at least see a statement from SpaceX that they are getting funding from SPVs like Dizraptor. Have you done any research on Dizraptor? Can you direct us to any more info about them?
I researched the platform and looked into SPV docs to make sure they were separate. The 5/20 is typical of VC and PE...but yeah, kind of sucks. Will have to find links when I get home.

When I watched your video I got excited and did some checking on my own. I was disappointed to see that Dizraptor requires you to be an accredited investor. Meaning the little guy can’t invest.

Am I missing something here? Why is Joseph Hogue telling everyone about investing into something that is out of most peoples reach? You have to had made over $200,000 in each of the two most recent years or have a net worth of over a million dollars excluding the value of your primary residence. That works out to 10.6% of ALL U.S. households! You have to be an accredited investor which most people are not! You know the old saying about the rich getting richer? This only applies to rich people Joe!
But it’s changing! Before only people with millions and connections in VC could invest in private companies, now you only have to have 1mil in assets or 200k a year income and an app. And it can change in a few years again

Before most of you get too excited you need to have a $1M net worth excluding your primary residence and have a 300k yearly household income. Or 200k individual. These are the minimum requirements to be an accredited investor, which Is required to sign up for this particular service. And THEN, I don’t think a millionaire would be stupid enough to pay the fees these guys are charging. That’s why their millionaires. They aren’t suckers 😂
Usualy people forget to mention only US people can in est. That may be important because UA-cam is international. Not all your subscribers are from US, Im from sweden and I guess its not possible outside US? :)
