lol, I hate the way I talk in these old videos.
Infinity gauntlet videos remaster confirmed!!!
ComicsExplained, Rob, you don't need to change anything. You were just starting out in the UA-cam biz, and you wanted to be more professional, we get it. But, now that you've come out of your shell, we definitely enjoy your more casual narrative voice. Eitherway, thanks for the upload, the Rob Corps. appreciates your dedication
ComicsExplained. Man you really have changed the way you talked. I remember seeimg them originally. You're amazing Rob!
Infinity war please finish it
You didn't find your sexy voice groove yet lol.
4 Years Ago Rob sounds like a train could derail and be crashing in front of him, and his heart rate wouldn't go up even a little.
This is the greatest thing ever.
Lemme tell you something man. Oh wait....there goes a derailing train. Oh well.
Why are you every ware
This is very apt and a great analogy 😂
Praise be Just Some Guy with a Mustache he has blessed this video with his presence
I love Rob's old videos, it's like Comic book videos and ASMR at the same time. 😂
Exactly!
Hey bro. I know this is off topic but you are helping me through a bad time in my life. Thank you
Hope you're doing better bud.
AZ Battle School Hope things are a lil better for you now man 💪🏽
Hope you cool man
keep the faith, stay strong brotha!
I guess I'll be that guy. Did you get through it, and did things get better?
Thanos Quest is my favorite comics story ever. I've read it over a dozen times, including within the last week.
YES!!!!.... This story is what made Thanos my favorite comic book character of all time when I first read it in the early 1990's. I was in high school at the time. He's been my favorite character ever since. Thanks for covering it, man!
Gabriel Gonzales I know I'm awesome
Me too
yesssssss
No one can write Thanos but Jim Starlin.
Myzzzz was the early Warlock storyline
Nearly a decade still coming back because this is my favorite reading
Same lmao
Loved this story more than the actual Infinity War story, Thanos is really cunning and you see that it's not about being a villain it's about love he seeks ultimate power but he does not feel like a ultimate bad guy and every tricks he pulls off seems legit.
I agree...why did Hollywood recreate Thanos as some type of villain???
@@GeorgeOforiAtta to be fair they did channel a lot of this vibe in Infinity War I think this comic was their inspiration to make a Thanos centered movie and they did convey some of his charisma with him seeming quite sad that it has come to this. It's still the same kind of gravitas. I misspelled I was saying I love Thanos Quest better than Infinity Gauntlet (but you're right Thanos Quest is also better than the movie)
@@Bubblegob , I must be of the few that feel the way I do about Thanos in general.
@@GeorgeOforiAtta I personally think Thanos in the MCU was done better than in Thano’s quest and the original Infinity Gauntlet story. I’m my mind the mcu version was ‘humanized’ in a more complex way. I think making his goal to eliminate half the life in the universe in order to prevent overpopulation (as his world was destroyed from) is a much more realistic and thought provoking motive than trying to impress his girlfriend. Sometimes a straight bad guy is what you need but in my opinion I think villains are more interesting when you can somewhat understand their motives from the right perspective
The sad feeling you get when you know Rob has still not covered issue 4 of Doomsday Clock
Adrian Deviluke - well, tbh, it was kind of a filler issue. No real revelations or progression other than developing Rosc's back story.
projectOMA fair enough but rob would most likely make it sound more interesting than it really was
projectOMA Maybe there is a detail in there that he picked up on in the newspaper sections *Spoilers to anyone who sees this don't look below*
Didn't Rob guess that it was in fact the Psychiatrist who treated rorschach's son that was the new Rorschach? That was a convoluted mouthful haha
Adrian Deviluke - well that's a given. Rob makes even the worst comics sound like the "best thing coming outta DC Rebirth right now (my phone now autofills that phrase. Lol) " he will probably do a video once 5 and 6 come out, or 5 at least. 4 alone is alright, but def a fillerr issue to where even Rob would fight to fill more than 5 mins on it. Im sure part 4 is important in the story, but alone it's pretty empty. Was hoping to see them find joker this issue, but nope.
projectOMA yeah that is makes sense man you have a point
I remember watching back when this came out, lol. Old Rob is what got me into Rob, so never be ashamed of your old style buddy ;)
True indeed. Thanos Quest along with Infinity Gauntlet and Warlock and Infinity Watch are good examples of why only Jim Starlin should be allowed to write Thanos. Everybody else either doesn't know the more compelling facets of the character and his arc or they just turn him into a edgy Darkseid wannabe, something he obviously isn't, especially because Darkseid wasn't the main inspiration for creating Thanos' character in the first place.
CapMar-Vell92 Returns Agree
copying your statement!!!
This era was Starlin’s high point. Everything after the breakup of the Infinity Watch is just a cash grab by Starlin & Marvel. Infinty War, Crusade etc etc don’t come close to original arc
I read this when it first came out in the 90's, I wish a movie were made from this to explain to people how Thanos is interesting and different
Indeed. Not the crappy movie they made latelly.
olivier mayrand I’m not going to take your word for it if you don’t know how to spell basic words
Thanos breaking out of the trees created by the gardener. Makes me really realize how much the people working on the movies actually read and love the source material, with the same imagery being used in mere moments with Groot and Thanos.
THE THANOS QUEST IS ONE OF THE BEST STORIES I'VE EVER READ.
To tell you the truth, I like the old way you did your videos. So this is pleasant.
Really wish they followed this storyline more in the film.
Impossible without Adam Warlock and Silver Surfer
@@210SAi much less without Galactus and Dr Doom as well.
It's easy just add the comsic entites and adam warlock or maybe wait for the deal with fox
One of the best stories ever written, I had these books from publication date (with all the silver surfer appearances and infinity war) until my house burned down, of all the many many many comics I lost that day, it's these books I miss the most. Thanks Rob for this upload.
4 year old Rob is pre DC Rebirth so he was dead inside lol
TTBN GAMING
*4 year old Rob??*
I have this story but I wanted to hear it from your perspective. This is pretty much what Infinity War is. Told from Thanos's point of view, his quest for the stones, etc. I love this story.
Infinity War is more like Infinity Gauntlet. The MCU didn’t go to deep into the Thanos Quest storyline
Totally love Rob cutting a swath through the MCU !!! So, Yeah !!!!!!!
Rob. U a funny guy. This the series that got me on your channel. That intro u used to have was what sealed the deal. Best intro song and series on UA-cam. Congrats on your success.
Wow, the evolution is striking. But its a 'Classic' and should live on for posterity if nothing else.
Thanx Rob
I find your way of speaking in these old ones very relaxing!! Good to watch when I heading to bed! Waiting for him to say 'maybe there's a happy little tree right here'. [RIP Bob Ross] Great work on all you do!
DC's characters to wield each of the gems for their respective powers in the comics.
1. Superman: Power Gem.
2. Flash: Space Gem.
3. Poison Ivy: Time Gem.
4. Brainiac: Mind Gem.
5. Scarecrow: Reality Gem.
6. Static: Soul Gem.
Darkseid Excursion.
Man, I am so happy to hear you're not taking down or changing your old videos. I know you hate the way they sound...but some of us got personal reasons for caring about them. I was your 95th subscriber. Youve been involved in my life for a long time now. SAVED my life. And my dog's. And you never even knew it. We would be dead now if not for you.
Maybe I'll post a video and tell that story one of these days. God knows, I owe you at least one story after all those you've told me. But, while it did end happily enough...my darkest days of homelessness, drug addiction and hopelessness...they're still hard to talk about.
Suffice it to say for now...when nobody gave a damn whether I was alive or dead, you were there. when there wasn't a single other human voice in my world, I could put on Infinity Gauntlet or Original Sin and, for a little while, think about something other than giving up.
Just...thanks, man. Maybe eventually I'll be able to tell you that story. But, assuming you see this amid the million others here now...this will have to do:
Thanks for never giving up.
Rob Corps!
I love the stoic/monotone esque voice you had before you really blew up. I was around thoes days and it makes me nostalgic for some reason.
Upon reflection, i'm proud and happy for you, and for how far you've come.
I literally go through your full story playlist all the time, got me into comics and helps me sleep at the same time. Thanks
I agree that Thanos' mind is his greatest asset! Imo, he and Dr Doom are the greatest villains in the history of Marvel; not because of armor and/or powers, but because of their brilliance! Imo, the only reason they lose ever is because the plot demands the good guys win in the end :)
This was awesome to listen to in small parts on my walk home, over about three days.
Man I was so pumped when I saw this! Thanks for all you do!
I live in Lansing mi, I watched the Avengers in IMAX theater opening night. When Loki fist shows the staff in his hand, I knew it had something to do with a infinity stone! When the end credits passed I was the only person in the Theater jumping out of my chair yelling "THATS F-ING THANOS!!!" ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha! Awesome. Love your channel bro
These videos never get old. I have watched this one over twenty times. Keep up the amazing work!!!
I'm glad you explained the original storyline as told in Marvel. I read it back in 1992.Good storyline from beginning to end.👍 keep up the good work 👍
OMG I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS SOO HARD!!! Thank you Rob you just made my week!
Greetings from germany, hope you come here one day or else i need to meet you at a con 👌🏽
Jason Green u
You reuploaded it!!! I've been asking for this foe a long time THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s videos like these made me subscribe back in the day. Glad you brought this video back man!
You really put me in a conundrum, Rob. I just read Thanos War, aka his first appearance, and I just started Thanos Quest/Infinity War and don't know if I should watch this video! I think I have to. Looks like you put a lot of effort into it.
Thanos turned my man into a baby and then traded him away. How thuggish is that? You turn my dude into an infant. Lol
The story telling in these books is so tight! Two books, picks up six gems! No drawn out bullshit! Rob, you really should’ve included the Return of Thanos storyline in the Silver Surfer where Death resurrected Thanos and gave him the task.
This is classic Rob!!! I was so sad when I realized this was takin down. So happy you put it back up!
THANK GOD!!! YOU BROUGHT IT BACK!!!
Dude, years ago me, one of my bffs, and his roommates popped this and the 8 part Infinity Gauntlet documentary in on the big, wide screen TV via my PS3. We popped some popcorn, got some take out, and watched all of it in one GLORIOUS night! It was movie night with Comics Explained, man! Thanks a lot for creating an awesome memory and giving us early hype for Infinity War years later!
im really glad you brought this back.
THANK YOU! BEEN WAITING AGES FOR THESE!!
Thank you for finally reposting these, Rob! These ware some of the first videos I remember watching on your station and I have been waiting for you to repost them since they went down. Thanks!
Rob rereleased a summation of by far one of the most ambitious storylines in the comic book medium. I think it’s a shame the original videos became unavailable in the first place.
Rob thank u for the last few years u have no idea how much help u have been.
Thank you very much for putting this video back up I haven't seen it in like 3 years I've been looking for it thanks again
Rob i have been watching your videos since the early days 4 years ago. I remember you putting out the infinity gauntlet and civil war. Im glad you are reuping these without re editing them. I enjoy going back and watchinf your old explains if nothing but the vast difference in how you explained the stories back then. Kepp up the good work beother.
Thank You Rob!!!!! U actually did it! I’ve been wanting to watch this again for a while now. A really great story. Damn that’s cool bro, thanks
Why ya lie .... And ya cheat ... and ya try to make a fool outta she?
Mark Keller it's actually nastalgic to listen to that in his old videos
The Heavy - Short Change Hero
OG intro. :)
Mark Keller lol!! The old intro!
+Mark Keller I'll always associate the song with the trailer for Batman Arkham City and especially that Catwoman
This is where i started watching rob keep up the great work i love you buddy!
ABOUT TIME!!! BEEN WAITING FOR IT!! ITS WHAT BROUGHT ME TO YOU MAN!!!
Thanks for the re-upload! I was searching for this for awhile!
Thank you for this Rob!
Thanks for re-uploading your explanation of Thanos Quest!!! This is the video that caused me to subscribe to your channel. This is one of my favorite videos. Keep up the great work bro!
Thank you so much for reuploading this!
Thanks for putting it back up
This was the first one I watched on your channel
'Bout time! This one of my favorites!!!
You've come a long way, sir. Loved you then, love you now.
Don't hate on 4 Years Ago Rob! That's the Rob that literally introduced me to comics
dude this rob was sick u used like a super soothing monotone kind of style which is cool but I've been here since the start basically and I'm proud of how far u benny nath and the entire crew have come
WE NEED PART 8 OF INFINITY GAUNTLET AND PART 2 OF INFINITY WAR. GET ON IT ROB
Havoc Maverick YES!!
rob you seem like a fun guy to hang out with. great videos man.
YES! Professor Rob is back!
Older rob is like hi may I take your daughter to dinner, newer rob is like what's up lady
I've throughly enjoyed your videos! Thank you so much! I hope there is more to this one. 🙏
I love your channel Rob :) your doing a pretty good job😊
Yes I was bummed when you took this down
Man i love thanos quest. I bought the comic because of this video.
Its amazing watching this after reading the Thanos Quest myself and the themes of Jim Starlin's Cosmic Existentialism that are presented here within each holder of each gem. Amazing.
Oh, man. What a story. I need the Gauntlet videos strung together like this. Nice work, Rob!
The gardner battle has always been in my top 5 battles in comics.
These are the set of videos that got me to subscribe to you! Talk about a through back thank you
So happy you uploaded these again. I used to watch them all the time.
Thanos aging the runner by a million years and then turning him into a baby is the best part 😂
I used to put these on when I wanted a nap/to sleep because your voice was so chill. Still kind of is honestly. Love both styles.
Thank you Rob. I know you hate these old videos, but I love them. I was actually looking for this for awhile and saw that it wasn't there. I wasn't sure if it was just buried or you took it down. Love this whole Thanos quest and Infinity Gauntlet story you did.
It's been years but it was time to come back and rewatch Thanos Quest and The Infinity Gauntlet aka the comics that allowed me to move away, a bit, from DC Comics and majority X-Men comics I read growing up since about 1998
Chaos emeralds popped in my head rewatching this brought me back to when I first found your channel where no one knew what you looked like. You have really grown in your own you have more bravado now.
I really wish you would go back and redo some of the highlight stories and moments in the style you do now. It's a lot more fun when you get excited and into it. I'm not suggesting that you redo everything, just some of yours and ours favorites. (Call it ComicsExplained highlights or something)
Finally. Thank You for bringing this back
Man I love these videos, watching it now sick geez. 😀
This was fucking AWESOME! I'm immediately heading to past videos of yours to find more in this format. You've got serious talent with this man.
Good job. I noticed this vid was taken off your channel last year. Gotta save it this time. It's a classic!
Rob bro i watched all your videos and your the best comic story teller on the tube i love your charisma and enthusiastic attitude you inspire me to collect more comics keep it going bro
Thanks for re uploading
Rob Your AWESOME!!!🔥🔥
Wow man I guess I never noticed how long I been following the channel...back when I had opening music lmao I loved that song....anyway congrats on all ur success and everything... u deserve it keep up the good work...thanks
I love these old videos. They’re maaaad serious but always informative! Reason I subbed!
I was hoping you would remaster these because I love the enthusiasm and improved editing and pacing your new videos have. That said I get it'd be a lot of work and the current video still serves it's purpose
YES THIS VID IS BACK
Thanks for making this
You've come this far because you've always been good. Thanks dude!
These older videos are what got me into this channel, and I dare say I like them more. However, I recognize that the way Rob explains comics now is far better than how he did so before. Looking back on it “Old Comics Explained” videos were more like Comicstorians way of doing videos. It’s good that this channel has grown out of that shell, very much like Rob has. Keep it up Comics Explained #ROBCOREFOREVER
I actually prefere the old Rob of back then. Now he talks too fast. I lke the calm way for story telling
Slowdown the playback speed then
Oh man, this brings me back. Thank you Rob.
Thank god. Finally I been looking for this for a while
love to see this back
thanks for this upload
Hey man I'm from KY too and work over in lebanon ky at a factory and these comic videos are the only thing that gets me through alot of the time... Thanks alot and I would love to see another video on Dr. Doom. He's like the best of the bad in my opinion of all time. Thanks again from Colt
