Did a commendable job I had a GE spacemaker that was a WCI design and it worked very well even with the indexing tub. I think these units are underrated.
These WCI washers aren't as bad as people say, they don't have great turnover but they beat the dirt out of the clothes. Not the best but far from the worst. WCI air conditioners were very good on the other hand, some of the best from their time.
@@brunoshow124 I agree, it seems to do a good job and its relatively quiet compared to other machines from its time period (Whirlpool DD, GE Front Servicable). Never had a WCI built A/C so I cannot speak there but any A/C then is better than what they put out now.
@@Celeron_619 I have a lot of WCI A/C units, they were built like the older units right up until about 2003 or so, although after about 2001 you could tell they were starting to cut corners. The best WCI A/C units were made from about 1990 to 2001. I have a Kenmore (Whirlpool DD) washer and it's a bit loud, works extremely well though. It's definitely a high hour machine. I plan on doing a rebuild on it at some point in the future, I am starting to accumulate new parts so I have everything when I decide to tear into it. I noticed your machine has a separate motor for the drain pump and does a neutral drain, we had a WCI Frigidaire machine that ran the pump off the main motor like most machines did back then, and it liked to eat belts every couple years, I guess the load of spinning a full tub of water was to much for the belt. That seems to be the main downfall of these machines. Also, to me this machine sounds similar to a modern Speed Queen.
@@Celeron_619 The WCI AC's were very good, especially the ones made before 2002 (Best ones were made between 1990 to 2001) or so. After 02 they started cutting some corners here and there. They were built like the older units but had modern features like electronic controls and stuff. You could obviously get mechanical ones too. Your washer here seems to have a separate electric drain pump, we had a WCI Frigidaire washer that was a typical setup using the main motor to run the pump. It worked well but the spin drain seemed like it was just a bit much on the belt, it liked to go through belts every couple years or so, otherwise it was a great machine. I have a Kenmore (Whirlpool DD) currently, I plan on doing a complete rebuild on it at some point soon, I am currently acquiring parts. I have a video of it. I also have the matching dryer that I wanna film soon.
@@brunoshow124 I think having the drain pump seperate from the main motor also helps longevity quite a bit since the transmission no longer has to bare spin draining. That Kenmore is a great machine, glad to see it will be getting an overhaul soon.
I think this is the first time I've seen one of this style machine that wasn't horribly overloaded. It seems like every video I've seen whether it be Frigidaire, Kenmore or whatever has been so crammed full of stuff that nothing moves. It's nice to see how the wash action is supposed to be with a properly loaded washer.

@@petermaz701 I do agree. I saw your videos on it, looked like an excellent machine.
@@Celeron_619 it was strong somebody really needed it so I sold it to them for me. It was just to collect but now it's actually being used.
@@Celeron_619 it did it was a strong little machine
@@petermaz701 Do you still have the TR7 or the Miele?
@@Celeron_619 I sold both of them I'm keeping the GE filter flow and the two Maytags
The washing action is excellent!! Everything is staying under the water. Also, the rollover is excellent!!!!
I love this washer so much, in Brazil was very popular with name Electrolux top8

Actually a pretty nice machine. These are classics now and I would take one today compared to much of the garbage we're being forced to accept now.

Brazilian Electrolux Top8 ❤
I'd like to see the 2006 GE on super size, normal/fast and extra heavy 15.
@@jeromedavis8575 If I have an opportunity, I will do so in the future. The machine is currently in storage.
I had a Frigidaire similar to this one it didn,t last no time.
Im sorry to hear that. How did it fail?
