No judge will see you if you get popped on a weekend; good luck in jail/holding. Maybe you get lucky with a magistrate... What you prioritize and spend money on is directly related to what you value. It’s why the state has insanely accurate cameras to catch speeders and rear license plates, but somehow manage to have barely functional audio and video shot in not-quite DVD quality (480p) recording devices for civil/criminal cases.

@Burner Fire It's not likely to get a murderer to admit to the killing, but it is likely to reduce the number of people who give false testimony to hurt someone they dislike, or help someone they like. If there were no consequences, for instance, they would even lie when there is CCTV footage of events that contradicts them, since there is no reason not to. They might get away with it, so why not try lying? You can't explain anything to me, because you don't know what you're talking about. This is literally common sense, and it's hard to believe that someone couldn't understand this intrinsically. But even if you couldn't, it's even harder to believe you could think about the topic enough to write this stupid comment, flourished with snark and condescension, without stumbling upon the concept accidentally. Do yourself a favor and don't be so snarky when you're literally incapable of common sense or critical thought.
I can understand the sentiment, but that would have very bad consequences as well. Imagine how apprehensive an officer would be to make an arrest, and how many bad guys would walk as a consequence. I'm sure these situations are not as simple as they seem to us civilians watching on UA-cam. An officer needs to be committed and decisive in their work, otherwise they could ya know, die in some situations. Also this guy is a rookie. He may be wrong, but now he is hopefully a better officer for it.
@@niche9015 Then that's a problem with the training police get. If the cops aren't able to suspect if someone is actively DUI, then that's completely on them. In college I took a psychology course in Deviant Behavior and there was a section on the police, which at first surprised me but as I read through study after study on police attitudes and behavior I learned that police culture is very different from the culture at large and not always in a good way. Did you know that statistically, police are _significantly_ more likely to lie on the stand than the average citizen?
@@Jack-vq7su Your argument makes no sense. That's the whole issue. If we average out how many times people lie on the stand on a percentage basis and if officers exceed that average, which again, is a percentage, then there is clearly an issue. Doesn't matter how many times they are on the stand. If an average person lies 50% of the time and an officer lies 75%, who cares how many times they appear on the stand.
Y’all are assholes. You don’t even know me just what you seen is this video i wasn’t drunk. Haven’t been in trouble since that happened. I’m in college and work full time.

The Judge did a good job to there. The question implied you could not speed when impaired by alcohol. But impairment does not change whether or not a person speeds or not.
The question was to whether or not a layperson would be able to conclude that driving fast takes more focus than driving slow, which doesn't make any sense because it's not necessarily true.
Not defending the cop, but that was a bogus question. An impaired person can drive fast or slow just as a sober person can drive fast or slow. Traveling speed is not indicative of intoxication or sobriety. That was a stupid question and it confused the prosecutor and judge alike.
I did not witness a single moment of this entire video where I believed this to be true. I strongly believe the "COP" was testifying to the best of his ability, to which Larry exposes to be not very good. What I do believe is the system he was trained under failed not only the "COP" but everyone who is subjected to the same issues of a lack of understanding and mental awareness that were presented here in this video. I am not pro police by any stretch of the imagination, but I felt sorry for this guy as he got wrecked.
it amazes me that when a question is asked of them, they do not "simply" answer yes or no. LEO always wants to add more to the question under testimony. The irony is, when they ask you the questions, they want you to answer yes or no only. Thank you for sharing! Excellent video!!!
I get it. I watched one other video before coming here. This guy is a snake. Manipulates facts to fill his own narrative, and I can’t find any results of his cases. It's around 1:00 AM here in California and somehow UA-cam directed me to this video and I'm glad I did. This effective defense attorney is amazing! Excellent research skills, courtroom demeanor, perseverance, analytical skills, knowledge, skilled communicator and he truly cares about his client
You can see the shift in the cops demeanor from being annoyed to being worried, when he confirms that the defendant was able to stand feet together and hands at his sides without ever swaying or trying to hold balance
I can't do that and I don't drink. I can stand on one leg, bend my knee and rest my foot against the top of my thigh, but the looking down, holding a foot a little above the ground is something I have never practiced. Cops are probably the only ones that practice this regularly. It would be interesting to some tv reporter testing this on the general public. It doesn't look easy to me.
I dont think you realize how difficult it is to think straight when you are on the stand. There is a ton of pressure because he has to be sure thay he does not mis-represent himself or or there will be major consequences. He is worried about telling the truth of what happened, not adding. I dont know if you have ever been interrogated but you should try it. They can get you to say things that you dont even believe.

Love how he had the defendant in uniform! I've always wondered why def. attys cannot file a motion requiring law enforcement officers to testify in civilian clothing (in jury trials), in that the mere appearance of their official duty uniform, badge, etc. might in and of itself have influence over a jury in regard to the credibility of the witness ..
If they are in uniform on the stand then they definitely should be bound by their oath of office in the court,if they lie they should be held accountable by the full letter of the law.
Actually, cops are just too easy for even the average lawyer. They are simple minded and often lie. It’s easy to catch them in a courtroom because they can’t hide
I think it’s fair. The question was, it takes more precision to drive faster than slower. And through all the accidents we’ve seen drunk drivers drive fast and slow
in court add "scientifically proven" and "absolutely certain" in the question So the simple question turns to "Can you be absolutely certain that it is scientifically proven that it takes more precision to drive faster than slower" You can't just claim stuff out of thin air in court, you must be an expert on them, the officer isn't required to tell which driving speed takes more precision"
@@zeiwow0 The implication behind the question is that no police officer can make a judgement about slurred speech on part of any suspect unless they are familiar with how everyone in their jurisdiction speaks when sober. Which I doubt.
They are like any other employee doing a job. Looking for the path of least resistance, becoming agitated when someone makes them work harder than they feel they should. The thing cops don't seem to grasp/care about is cutting corners or malicious activity ruins people's lives.

Yeah but court room basically run 24 hours every day of the week. So...
Daniel KL It’s not 24 hours a day. It’s like 8-5 or 6, M-F, in most places. And 6 represents the clerk’s office, not the judge/lawyer proceedings.
"under oath" is the equivalent to "dude trust me"
No, it isn't. You can't go to prison for saying dude trust me and then lying.
sihTdaeRtnaCuoY no it is, because he means even though there is punishment, it doesn’t mean you’ll tell the truth at all. Just a hope you do. Rarely do courts fact check every damn case with lie detectors. 🤣
@@gabrielpw.
Lie detector results are inadmissible, and you wouldn't be able to charge someone who failed a polygraph anyway. Yes, people lie under oath, but it's not like saying "dude trust me", because if you tell a lie and get caught, you can go to prison.
@Burner Fire
No, it's not as trustworthy. People still do lie under oath, but since there are real consequences, it's a lot more trustworthy.
@Burner Fire
It's not likely to get a murderer to admit to the killing, but it is likely to reduce the number of people who give false testimony to hurt someone they dislike, or help someone they like.

That's pretty much what impeaching a witness's credibility is. You're attacking their testimony by showing that their statements can't be trusted.
That’s when you know you have a good lawyer and worth every penny
Cops should have to pay attorney fees if the case is lost and defendant is found not guilty... That will stop some of BS stops and arrest....
Civil cases
I can understand the sentiment, but that would have very bad consequences as well. Imagine how apprehensive an officer would be to make an arrest, and how many bad guys would walk as a consequence. I'm sure these situations are not as simple as they seem to us civilians watching on UA-cam. An officer needs to be committed and decisive in their work, otherwise they could ya know, die in some situations. Also this guy is a rookie. In college I took a psychology course in Deviant Behavior and there was a section on the police, which at first surprised me but as I read through study after study on police attitudes and behavior I learned that police culture is very different from the culture at large and not always in a good way. Did you know that statistically, police are _significantly_ more likely to lie on the stand than the average citizen?
not surprising
Where can i find that study?
Dsshi
You don’t say? Maybe the fact that they are also significantly more likely to be called to the stand in the first place has a role in that.
@@Jack-vq7su Your argument makes no sense. That's the whole issue. If we average out how many times people lie on the stand on a percentage basis and if officers exceed that average, which again, is a percentage, then there is clearly an issue. “I don’t believe that the officer has the ability to answer that question”
Accidentally savage!
Thomas Shepard it makes sense as you travel faster objects come up quicker, brakes don’t work as quickly etc
Not defending the cop, but that was a bogus question. An impaired person can drive fast or slow just as a sober person can drive fast or slow. Traveling speed is not indicative of intoxication or sobriety. That was a stupid question and it confused the prosecutor and judge alike.

You can't just claim stuff out of thin air in court, you must be an expert on them, the officer isn't required to tell which driving speed takes more precision"
Time stamp? Lol
The way that this officer is stumbling around with his answers is indicative with someone under the influence
He speaks slowly and sometimes slurred
@@billthecat129 He also has issues with divided attention
It sounds like he’s having a panic attack majorly. I guarantee that’s the case here.
🙌🙌😂😂😂😂
Cop said he remembered everything about that night but couldn't remember if the defendent used his turn signal at the beginning of the stop.
He said he remembered all the *important* elements of the case
@@pingaspearce9403 that is important. It warrants a stop
Love how you get close and personal. Police need to get back to protecting n serving not shaking down citizens for revenue.
It's a manufactured criminal blanket
"Do you know how he speaks?" After that question the officer didn't want to be an officer anymore.
Because it's a BS question.
@@smaakjeks how is it a bs question it’s completely legitimate
@@zeiwow0 The implication behind the question is that no police officer can make a judgement about slurred speech on part of any suspect unless they are familiar with how everyone in their jurisdiction speaks when sober. That is not a question that is relevant to that specific officer's actions, unless we are to believe that this fresh cop is responsible for putting that operating procedure in the training program at the academy. Which I doubt.
It's a meaningless question. I'm not sure why people think that's impressive.
@@briandunlap3243 Right?
This lawyer is awesome wish I had him when I was n trouble! This lawyer is keeping cops accountable for ALL of their actions! Good on him!
"keeping cops accountable" right, exactly, good way to say it
Keeping accountable would be if they were punished for lying or being scummy.
Cops can't stand being held accountable. They HATE being filmed.
35 y.o. Never been in courtroom before only seen on tv. This is the most underrated channel in the world.
"cops" forget they must also obey the law, being a "Cop" isn't no a free pass to do what they want. They seem to forget that... a lot.
They are like any other employee doing a job. Looking for the path of least resistance, becoming agitated when someone makes them work harder than they feel they should.
The thing cops don't seem to grasp/care about is cutting corners or malicious activity ruins people's lives.
@?? Stfu
Cops Are a brotherhood above the law.
They eat it, they breath it, they talk it, they live it, they r above the law. They can get drunk and drive and get pulled over by another police officer and they will not give another cop or a retired cop a ticket.
they will let them drive off.
I have seen this personally.
@@connieadams607 exactly its a dangerous cult.
Attorney: So you remember every stop perfectly?
Officer: I remember everything I need to remember, yes
Attorney: So during your training...
Officer: I don't remember that.
you member?
@@aceous99 I member 🍇
That's earth shattering...blows my mind!!!
😆 🤣 LOL

When the Cop heard himself say "I had already charged him before he took the last test" .........
That's when he knew He messed up
Lawyer: "Thanks Judge, no further questions.
Lolololol
When I heard him say that I was like -- ( are you serious ) - you charged him before you gave him the test. At this rate -- even a 6 year old mentally would do a better at desition making at his job. SMH.
@@Real_Talk22 Exactly!
Barbie SueLay the decision making of a 6 year old in all honesty is beyond his man. Out of the academy for a month he didn’t know dick
That is the correct order. Field sobriety test, the charge, then the breath test. The breath test merely adds evidence to case.
@@BanjoZZZ - If you listen back to the video he said -- ( in this case he had already made the charges ) - before he did the test.
WOW this lawyer is a courtroom beast with the swag and knowledge that shines so bright, his word play and questioning is on point and very interesting to listen to. He actually cares about his clients and thats extremely rare within the court system these days.
I am TRULY AGAINST driving & driving BUT you are AMAZING to watch! I love how you ruled that courtroom and PROVED just how incompetent & cruddy some police officers are!! Please post more videos!!
I love you challenge these cops who bend and intimidate to arrest on the law they want
@Frank Stein my ex husband was a pig and he told me that if you.follow someone long enough they'll screw up and give you a reason to pull them over
@Frank Stein yeah, he was a psycho and a hypocrite
That man is a good lawyer
Attorney: When you drove up to the McDonald's did you order a combo or just a burger?
Cop: Yes.
Attorney: So you ordered a burger?
Cop: Nuggets and a Coke that's correct.
Attorney: ...at the academy, did they teach you how to order a meal?
Cop: I learned materials and mumble mumble mumble I don't remember I do remember but I don't remember.
Attorney: I'll move on.
Hahaha
Fucking hysterical! Good stuff.
Hahahah
