- Here are the simple tips behind the SAFE Dog Bite Prevention Program that can be shared with one and all.
SAFE stands for the four body language cues that a child can do to diffuse an encounter with a dog that approaches them. The four cues are set to four rhyming phrases:
1. Stay still and chill! - The child to remain calm and not run away.
2. Arms crossed like a boss! - keep your arms still and close to your body.
3. Face away like you don’t want to play - turn your head to the side & away from the dog.
4. Eyes down on the ground! - don’t make direct eye contact with the dog.
This video is part of our Stories of Kindness Workshop where children were taught about keeping themselves safe around an aggressive dog.
Stories of Kindness are video recordings of our live sessions wherein we tell stories about animals, learn about their super powers, how we humans can help to make their lives happy and comfortable. These also include stories about empathy towards people, compassion towards animals and care for the environment.
