  • Comparison of practical useability between the Alpkit Brukit and the brilliant Fire Maple x2
I have had a good few comments saying that you can put a gas canister into the Alpkit Brukit, I tried every way possible (I think) to fit a 230 gram gas canister into the Brukit, I genuinely think it can't be done. If you can do it, upload a video, send me a link and I'll delete this video. I guess by the lack of people sending me links, I am correct by saying it can't be done. I see no point in taking a small 100g canister in the stove as it's obviously got limited capacity and it rattles around causing damage.
Until then I still think the Fire Maple X2 is far superior in more ways than the above.
I mention in the video of the performance being the same, relating to the jetboil design that many of these manufacturers have copied.

Never had a problem with mine. Burner fits in the other way up. Fits perfectly.

I'd like to see that with a 230g gas canister. Please upload a video and put the like here. If it can be done with all the components and a 230g gas canister I'll delete this video. Thank you.

I got mine as a gift along with a 230g canister, I thought I was going mad when I couldn’t make it fit. I can only imagine they’ve designed with a 100g canister in mind.

Mate, you've got it so wrong.
    1. Put the blue tripod around the gas burner so it protects the piezo igniter. Make sure the little feet on the tripod are pointing up.
    2. Holding the burner and tripod in one hand, turn the cup upside down with your other hand and lower it over the tripod and burner until the feet of the tripod stop at the bottom of the cup.
    3. Then turn the cup the right way up so the blue plastic legs of the burner are pointing up towards the opening of the cup.
    4. The gas canister then sits nicely in a purposely designed recess of the blue legs. Then the metal pan holder (you got that bit right) sits on top of the canister.
    5. You'll see that the whole lot sits level with the lip of the cup and the rubber lid clips on holding everything in place nice and snug.
If you're still struggling send me a message and I'll send you a little video.
Btw, you're also packing the Jetboil wrong. There's a video on UA-cam showing how to pack it properly. It's the same way you should pack the Brukit. Watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/xQsZ_vfRY3Q/v-deo.html

Thanks for your comment, I really like it and I am keen to know more. Can you upload a video (send me the link) on how to pack the Alpkit up with a 230g gas canister, I genuinely couldn't do it trying every combination I could think of.
The jetboil only packs up using a 100g gas canister not a 230g as the Firemaple does, so that's no good unless you only want to a little bit of gas for less than a weeks usage.

I've now worked out how you get the 230g cannister to fit this. I found it by accident. I'll upload a video and link it.

You can fit it all in if you put the gas stand in last. Never had a problem fitting all mine in that.

It wouldn't hurt to print the packing instructions on the neoprene cosy. It took me quite a while to figure it all out, it does fit with the 230g canister. Just follow Glyn's instructions elsewhere on this page.

Glyn can only fit a 100g canister in. If you can fit a 230g canister and let me have a link to the video, I will delete this video. Until then I know the AlpKit BruKit is an inferior product.
