I inspected my ERG to check if it was dirt, because I was getting the P0400 code. I just took out some 3 sensors plugs to remove the intercooler hose. After assembly it back together, not I get the code P0069 related with the MAF. And now the car seems into limp mode. Any ideas? My suspicions was initially, I removing the sensor plugs with the battery connected.
Out of curiosity (since this is happening to a few of the 1GD motors, which isn't a good look), is this type of thing attributed with short trips or something similar? More blowby when cold and not giving enough time for the engine to warm up and blow/dry/burn it out?
So far we have only come across four instances of blockage on the early models of HIlux and Prado. Some of the EGR coolers on the early production vehicles may develop a crack and leak internally, some more than others, and this possibly may be contributing to the blockage. That is the reason we don’t clean but replace the EGR coolers.
Does Toyota cover a blocked EGR if vehicle have full Toyota history and serviced on time?

As this is a common issue of Toyota diesels, why have you not a cleaning system.
Early models could experience internal coolant leaks within EGR cooler. This was an early model vehicle hence the replacement. Have not seen blockages on later models
Typical toyota dealers stealing customer's money. It could have been cleaned and did not have to be replaced. Never trust Toyota with your car. First hand knowledge and experience here. Shame on you Toyota dealer's.
This vehicle falls within the production date of manufactured EGR coolers with a potential for internal coolant leak. This was the main reason for replacement rather than cleaning.
