It doesn’t make sense for the ducks to take Silayev, already have Zellweger and Mintyukov as LHD the choice is simple, if Levshunov is available, you take the RHD, if not you take your choice of Demidov or Lindstrom
He played right side D in the KHL this year so he can play with Mintyukov. Plus if they think he can be Zdeno Chara level, then you don't worry about displacing Zellweger, u can always trade him or play him on the 3rd pair. We're seeing in the finals how one pairing can kill u (Ceci/Nurse)

I'm still not so sure that if Demidov is passed by Chicago that Anaheim doesn't pull another surprise and pick him. His skillset is potentially elite and hopefully too much to pass up. The Ducks do have a young Center core that is envied by plenty of other teams but their wings are a bit thin. They also have plenty of high-end young D and can survive just fine without picking a Defenseman with their first pick. Demidov would really fill a need at wing and can be that piece that makes their top six flat out scary in a few short years. If the Ducks do go with Silayev that would be fine too. He seems pretty scary in his own right and would be a nightmare for other teams to deal with. ... But, If Chicago picks Demidov the Ducks will most likely go with Levshunov and solidify their future top four D. Honestly the Ducks have built a deep enough prospect pool this past half decade where they are in a no lose situation with this draft...... I don't think there's consensus that he's a better prospect than Matvei Michkov and he went 7th last year. I'd guess the causes are that he's another averaged sized kid (to add to an undersized forward group) that's never competed against top end competition and has had two significant knee injuries in the last 6 months. If they go Demidov and Levshunov plays better, is that fireable?
The Hawks were decimated by injuries last year, particularly forwards. Demidov is an under 6' skilled forward, the Hawks are rife with them in their system. Also he has only played in their minor leagues. And when has Chicago picked a Russian this early?

Demidov displays elite level skill and banking on his kind of skill set is more forgivable, should it not pan out, than banking on a player who’s greatest assets are his dexterity and size. If Levshunov was left handed, don’t you think his stock would be lower than it currently is? Kyle Davidson needs to get this pick right regardless of who is chosen unless the team develops an insulating level of improvement over the next two seasons.

Everything past the first 4 picks is going to be deep development so it doesn't matter if the team at this time is deep at a position. If it's the best pick grab and develop and by the time he hits the ice they might not be stacked in that position

In the 23 draft Habs held the fifth pick, just like in 24 draft. Last year it was well know they try to move up targeting fantilli, Carlsson or Smith but unfortunately it didn’t work out. I’ll predict the same would happen during this years draft. Habs are targeting Demidov or Lindstrom both will be gone 😂
@@BMXIX I think Michkov made it fairly clear where he would sign and where he wouldn't. Regardless, nothing can be done about it now, but I think the Habs did pick a very solid RD. That being said, at least there will be some good forward choices at #5.
Lindstrom was one of only two players Columbus took to dinner. The Jackets had multiple meetings with Lindstrom. If there really is a possibility that Ottawa will move Tkachuk, they would almost have to take Iginla.
