it's a drawstring from an old skirt, about 1 cm wide :)

what sewing machine was used? I am making something similar but with vinyl, could this machine handle vinyl if not what would you reccomend?

hi Tyler :) it's a basic model home sewing machine. it can sew on the back side of vinyl but top stitching directly on the right side usually ends in disaster. some people recommend switching the sewing foot to either a silicone one or a walking foot attachment. I haven't tried so I'm not sure if it works :)

What kind of fabric did you use?

Marian Rooth i use cotton canvas . If i remember correctly, the off white one is 16 oz weight, navy color is 12 oz :)
