Avatar The Last Airbender 1x1 Full Watch-Along @ ua-cam.com/video/SNxpG5E1TXg/v-deo.html
😂 as a longtime fan of the OG show, I like seeing Vanessa's reactions to certain moments and Robert figuring things out as a newbie
Agreed!
As another long time fan, I'm so happy that there's at least some reaction channels that have never seen the show like just like with one piece i NEED reaction channels that have never seen the actual show that watches the adaptation blindly
We've never seen One Piece either. Unfortunately the live action series is losing in our Member's poll so we're not sure when we'll get to it.
@@LatetothePartyehhh, whenever you do get to it, you can just claim you’re keeping true to your namesake 😂
@@lightningjadejavier Yeah, it's a very novel standpoint for this! I'm super curious!
Way more impactful than I was necessarily expecting with the fire bending being particularly brutal. Love the cast so far.
‘It’s his vision board’ LOL I love seeing this new adaptation from someone who’s never seen it before!
Me too! This reaction makes me see those who will enjoy this show best are the people who haven't watched the show before
Finally only the second reactors I get to see that haven’t watched the show or remember it all that much. I much prefer watching reactors like that bc it’s genuine and no comparing it to the og every single part of an episode. Makes the reactions more enjoyable to watch. If y’all find anyone else who is new that is reacting to this show,, can you give me recommendations bc I’d like to watch those reactions. Thank you. I love y’all reactions
The genocide wasn’t in the animated series, seeing it in the live action made me cried. The air nomads meant the world to Aang. I finished season 1 already and it definitely has potential for another season.
I was crying at the genocide scene too as Aang was trying to get back to the temple. I was also shocked how violent the fire nation is as they were just burning people alive.
Made me cry too. It never really hit that hard in the cartoon (because obviously they wouldn’t show that to kids) so seeing it happen in here was just different.
I was not prepared to cry my eyes out so early in the first episode.
I’m actually looking forward to see how y’all react since y’all haven’t seen it/don’t remember it! Most other reaction channels I follow are huge fans so it’s nice to get different perspectives!
Earthbender in Last Airbender Movie: It takes 6 guys to do the dance of moving one rock 🪨
Earthbender in Netflix's Avatar: Fights like their Animated Counterpart.👌
I already finished watching this season and man, was i happy with what I got. This show is a W
That last episode with aang as a fish was fire koh scared me fr
yeah me too, hope the next book comes along
legit can't wait for the next book
@@damarcusgames no I'm pretty sure it was water
I just finished watching it myself and it was amazing I'm really glad what they did with a certain firebending prodigy
6:50 Traditionally, the Avatar was always told or revealed when they turned 16. Because the air nomads and other nations knew the Fire Nation was mobilizing for a conquering war, they felt it was necessary to tell Aang at 12 years old and to get him trained as the Avatar as soon as possible.
Also, the reason they knew that Aang was the Avatar growing up and why he's very proficient as a bender is because they presented him with a ton of toys to choose from when he was a kid. Aang's favorite toys that he picked were actually relics that belonged to the previous Avatars so they knew he was the one.
in the original show, Aang ran away. He literally ran away. not to think, but because he wanted to ran away from the responsability.
And to BE A DAMN KID
@@vordt4139 obviously, i don't blame him. he's 12. I'm just saying that they changed that.
@@LeoBladini Yeah, they changed it but I'm not convinced it's that big a of a change as far as Aang's character is concerned. From his point of view, he still blames himself for not being there, still feels like he wasn't there to protect them because he ran away. Sure, he wasn't intending to stay away, but in the moment he still ran away.
I really enjoyed their take on the first episode. Especially since in the animated version we never got a chance to see the air nomads get taking out and I enjoy the little add touch of having all the air nomads come together at one place. And the little subtle changes don't bother me like when aang went into the Avatar State for the first time and instead of Katara calming him down it was his friend gyatso that calmed him down which makes sense either way I really enjoyed this. Awesome reaction you two 🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
And they place it in the last moment of the season. Katara confess how Aang meant to her. It makes more sense.
For someone who doesn't know the avatar story, this is very interesting. Your reaction will be very genuine without comparing it to the original story. keep watching it, it will get more and more interesting. eps 4 and 6 is peak. Leaves from the vines.
Gordon Cormier is amazing as Aang, no doubt about it
Enjoyed your reaction as usual. Good to see Robert’s perspective coming in cold.
As for the episode, I thought it was good. Visuals were cool. Does a good job setting the stage.
I'm actually super interested in how the show is from a non-fan perspective so I'm excited to watch yalls reaction of this show :D
It’s really cool to see a reaction video from someone who never watched the cartoon. A true tabula rasa take on this show
20:25 Dallas Liu is a really well-trained martial artist. Most of the stunts that Zuko does are in fact by Dallas. Super skilled and talented.
8:31 😆That was amazing. This is why I'm looking for reactors who never watch the animated series.
Animation is more emotional connection with every character
As a huge fan of the og animation (I re-watch it at least once a month, no kidding), I am currently half way through the 1st season of the live action and ep1 is still my favorite. Let's see how the latter half comes in clutch
I binge watched it all as soon as it came out and have been rewatching
I've never watched the animated version, but now that I'm finished with the show, I'm really thinking about watching animated one now.
That's great! More people need to understand how beneficial this show can be in getting more people to watch the animated series.
@@LatetotheParty I probably will check it out when I wake up. Looking forward to it.
"You're 12..."
Us: Now he's 112 actually. XD
He was frozen longer than Captain America actually.
All n all, this series was absolutely enjoyable in a lot of ways
Wait it's out?! Omg!!! Gonna watch!!!
I cannot believe you’ve never seen this… you’re a reaction channel. Get on that man, it’s one of the most reacted to shows ever, probably the most reacted to animated thing ever
Hence "Late to the Party".
i watched the animated series as a kid on netflix so i liked this live adaption
Pretty solid first episode
Sokka, armed only with a stone/bone club, faced off against a powerful firebender, though he had no powers. That is a demonstration of (foolhardy) courage and Aang is correct in his assessment of Sokka.
Yes! Aang is now smiling in the new live action Avatar The Last Airbender series however unlike 2010 Aang, he never smile or joke in this movie which came out in 2010.
watching the temple get destroyed allI could think about was that part in The prince of Egypt.. This was my home all this pain and devastation how it tortures me in side
3:19, imagine a dark Star Wars where the Emperor leaks the fake info about Death Star's supposed flaw to draw out the rebels. Wait, that's Return ofvthe Jedi!
"Looks like a chocobo!" made me laugh as a Final Fantasy fan
Finished All of it. Really like Iroh and Zuko. They felt the most connected and felt like a god representation of their characters from animated show.
This reaction makes me see that those who will enjoy this show best are the people who haven't watched the show before
I hope they make a second season 🙏🏻
Appa was inside the ice ball with Aang
For Aang in a day he found out he is the Avatar, that he would have such a burden and then that somehow a hundred years went by and all he knew was gone
I am so glad you haven't seen the original. You're going to be the first unspoiled reactors (not so much your wife) I'm going to see. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 🖖😎👍
The whole beginning with the thriving temple of the air nomads was so hard to watch and sad even more so sad because we never really got that in the animated series. There were some slight flashbacks, but we never got to see like bad ass air nomads fighting for their lives.
I cried much during this episode. Such a great adaptation.
aang doesn't run away he just wanted to be alone
Its gonna be so interesting to watch you react to the original show because of all the changes they've made.
love the pilky boy shirt
Dave Filoni directed some of the episodes of the animated series.
“COMET FEEESSSSTTTTT” 😂😂😂
THANKS for this!!!!
YOU’RE WEARING THE SPEAK NOW CARDIGAN!!! I have that same one, and you look beautiful in it :)
3:41 we know what you were doing Vanessa 😏
😉
To anyone saying Someone's OPINION is "Wrong" about a Piece of Fictional Media...........Please Focus that Confrontational Energy towards something Constructive...
Trying to Tell Someone How They Feel is Wrong is Insulting...
2 People can Watch the Same Thing and Feel the Completely Opposite about it...That is not something to Fight about...it is something to Discuss. :)
This is epic. Because you haven't seen the cartoon. I'm here for it 😏
Great show
Nice Karl Pilkington TShirt… it’s “Alright”
I hope y’all check out the new trailer of Boy Kills World that was released today. Seems like a movie y’all would like. Got Kill Bill vibes from it.
I REALLY LIKED THE FIRST EPISODE
Get ready for disappointment later on. It's clear the showrunners have no idea who some characters are. Wait until you get to Omashu.
@@TheTurtle. Well, I know there's gonna be some changes, so I know not everything is gonna be the same
@ionic_rezz7789 It's more how they change characters in very very weird ways. I wont spoil it for anyone. Its more than just changing it. They dont seem to understand some major characters or their goals and motivations. Some choices are just bad. If people like it that's great to. We still have the animation.
@@TheTurtle. Oh alright, I plan on watching the second ep later on today
@@ionic_rezz7789 That's where I started to get worried. There is one scene that is pretty amazing if it wasn't surrounded by some odd choices.
Going to Enjoy Robert's take as a Newbie and Vanessa Love for this Show. Great Combo Reaction.
So Far after One Episode I Like the Actors for Aang & Katara. Sokka is the Stand Out with His Spot On Snarkiness and I think Zuko's Actor Dallas James Liu is Wonderful in Interviews but still warming Up to His Portrayal.
nessa looks amazing and watching avatar o ya lets go
Finally on time
I admit it was intense the way they came at aang but you have to think of all the people who were lost who got killed and just hurt by the war Id be pissed too
he is no regular child. @@kmjkmjkmj Plus he has responsibilities. duty to the world. Yes I do believe he needs a childhood but ... what about all the people who died while he was gone?
I hear they're not gonna do Ba Sing Se arc because it's too dark for r13 shows. And yet the first episode shows air nomads being burned and shrieking on their death is already gruesome and dark.
I hope what i heard isn't true
Also, my favorite actors in this season is Zuko. At first I didn't get the visual actor. But later, they improve the writing of his character and make it better, even includes his ship crews which give more much sense and shows how great his character is.
Also, I feels the pain of zuko from the actor. He is so great!
I'm look forward to his act in the future seasons.
ba sing se isnt book 1 anyway
I’m still excited I do think it’ll still a great adaption maybe just as good as animated
It was amazing! i watched some of the animated show, and i like both this was fire 🔥 no pun intended.
I hope you guys check out the animated show, I would love to see those reactions!!!
It's so good
5:56 Based off manatees actually! 😉
😊good tv show just the first episode on a bootlegged website reminded me of future squadron timeranger
To tell the truth who really gets burned besides zuko aang katara and song... I cant think of anyone oh yeah toph when her feet got burned
Yip yip!
In an ideal world Netflix buys Lucas films for Dave Filoni to do Star Wars in HIS own image with Avatar crossover
The best 😊😊😊
Did you notice that the sky-bison have that same blue arrow in their fur that as the master airbender's tattoos.
the die hard fans are pretty much nitpicking as usual. it will always be not perfect. but this was actually good and a fun ride. the best that we could get.
I just realized there was a bit of a snafu in this episode, he mentions stopping the fire lord BEFORE he actually attacks. It's not a huge mistake but it is kind of glaring now that I notice it...
was that WONG?!!!!!
I’m someone who truly struggles to get into animated shows including anime. It has to be really really good for me to get fully invested. And Avatar The Last Airbender is at the top of my list of favorites. Right up there next to Attack On Titan.
And as a fan of Avatar I loved this!! There were a few things I wish I got to see or I wish they did differently BUT NOTHING that ruined anything for me. I do hope that they bring in more of the cute and wholesome moments as well as the comedy into this. Because this seems very very serious so far.
Perhaps the comedy wasn’t working quite as well in live action or something. But I’ve only watched the first episode and part of the second so there is still time.
"No one has ever fought for me before." - Really hits different after seeing the genocide of his people. Like, what the fuck was this writing?
They fought for their survival. Most of them didn't know he was the Avatar and they weren't ready for the attack, hence no premeditated intent to protect Ang. And Gyatso fought to protect children but Ang was not one of them because he was not there. Airbender are inherently peaceful, so I doubt Ang was ever in a situation where he couldn't fight for himself up to the point where someone had to step in between him and a threat.
@@Akaeus Knowing he's the Avatar is predetermined intent to protect and fight for him until he's fully realized. All the elders knew. The rest of them fought for him because he's a part of their people. They all literally fought for him. You're saying cuz it's not a 1v1 that it doesn't count? Tell every soldier that fights in a war that since they didn't tell John Smith personally that he's the one they're fighting for, it doesn't count if they live or die.
No I'm saying he literally was not there and they all were fighting for survival not specifically for him. So again he wasn't necessarily wrong.
You've never watched avatar? That's blasphemous... that's like never watching lotr or sw...
"Late to the Party" isn't just a clever name.
I will watch you 2 reacting...but I will not be watching this Series.
The Original & Korra are both Classics...but the Movie is a Travesty...and this Series....I strongly disagree with how they Opened the Series.
They spent THAT MUCH TIME on Characters that TRULY No Longer Matter in the Story....I can't stand when Live Action Remakes Drag Things Out....
The Dialogue made me Cringe multiple times....
Would have been FAR More Impactful if they showed Raids on The Southern Water Tribe...with Katara voiceover about how they have been raiding their Tribe since the Avatar disappeared....I mean....consider they literally flashedback to that with Characters that will be in the ENTIRE SERIES...but nope...we have to see how the PACIFISTS Fought to Survive...while BARELY Mentioning the Comet being the reason for the Success (1 mention...)
edit: apparently Saka and Ahsoka are names that are stored right next to each other in my brain lol
I rolled my eyes so many times simply watching the Clips & dialogue you included....😅😅😂😂😅😅
The way they cut the story to Shreads....this reminds me an Awful Lot of the Movie....the only difference...Bending is Fast and CGI HEAVY, as they should be.
@@A.Musing.Streamerthis series was amazing. As a fan of the og series I truly loved this adaptation
ATLA is better as animation with the OG creators behind it. I can’t with the terrible writing, wooden acting, fake looking sets.
I hate this version, they totally destroyed both katara and iroh’s characters and the story is so messy and shallow and bad. Original animated show looks better, is better written and way more feminist even though it was written 20 years ago
