This is the cleanest Kmart I’ve ever seen, very organized too. I worked at the first Super K in Medina, OH and it makes me happy to see a thriving store.
Out of the three remaining Kmarts in the US, this is the best looking one. It's clean and appears fully stocked. If Kmart would have went in this direction, we would be singing a different tune about them today. Oh, what could have been.
I live close to where the last standing Super Kmart closed in Warren OH and me and my mom loved that store. Very sad what happened to Kmart. It is now a Meijer in 2023 where the last Super Kmart used to be at. I miss Kmart a lot.
My Kmart in Costa Mesa, CA closed last year and it was the last remaining one in Southern California it lasted for a very long time even before when I was born in 95. This was the spot to go with my family to buy things and walk around. I’ve had nothing but amazing memories in my Kmart! 👍🏼

As a resident of a nearby town, I can confirm that this individual Kmart will never close due to the fact that Target and Walmart will never be legally allowed to open in the township of Bridgehampton our any surrounding town
I sorely miss Kmart...the last time I was in an American Kmart was in 1992 when I was travelling northern New England, and the last time I was in a Canadian Kmart was in Corner Brook, NL back in 1998!
Thanks for making the trip, I worked for the original Garden City, MI Kmart back in the late 70's, sad in a way to see the chain finally fold upon itself , I remember a few Michigan stores back then Taylor, MI maybe Southgate dipped their toes into home audio as an experiment with a full line of Pioneer audio and a smattering of some other brands, boy did that stuff go out the back door fast..
I remember one of the Kmart's in Southgate on Eureka Road had an upstairs furniture department in the back of the store. I used to work next door at the Farmer Jacks supermarket.
Even though this store is in the best condition among the three left on the mainland, the real estate is the most desirable which could result in it closing.

They were also another great department store back in the day which sadly went under bankruptcy in the late 90's and closed down for good in 1999
@@MannyQuacioua Anytime, I remember as a kid in middle school I went to the Caldor in Morris Plains, NJ in 1999 when they were liquidating the store. Never knew at that time they were closing for good but that store had some character, you would have loved it! Check out their videos on UA-cam, some people even filmed inside the store in the 90's!
That explains why it doesn’t have the traditional Kmart strip lighting, but has traditional rectangular lights like the now closed former venture Kmart that has something similar. I like the rectangular lighting better though. It makes it look more modern.
Don't forget they still have 6 more in the territories as well. So they got 9 to sell should they decide to do so, not 3. That said of the mainland locations this will probably be the last one left with Guam or the US Virgin Islands the last one left overall. Those Islands have 4 altogether.

I love it I hope this one stays open and doesn't close if I could I would fly from sandiego CA to New York just to do some shopping there would be nice
@@MannyQuacioua very beautiful was born and raised but ready to travel around some our kmart well the one next to me was on 3rd Ave my favorite store was shut down around 07 sat empty 10 years they turned it into a ross dress for less 99 only and Chuzze fitness so 3 business in one kmart well to be honest I'd rather have kmart back anyday

As you go more towards the right, there is another Side to the plaza that looks very nice and has a dollar tree at the very end of it, strangely enough, that particular dollar tree location may actually be the best one I’ve seen because they have a lot of items I’ve never seen in a typical dollar tree store before
It won’t last long. Where are the customers? Don’t see any employees. The company is bankrupt. Kmart and Sears are done in the U.S. It will be a grocery store or Hardware store soon.

Super Kmart in Greensboro NC has been repurposed, split into three different stores: Gabes, Floor & Decor, Advance Auto

I worked at the Costa Mesa Kmart and the manager was a jackass. But otherwise good store

Oh the Kmart in Taylor Michigan was everything back in the late 90s. The cafe was one of my best memories. They then turned that Kmart into a lowes

there are currently 9 Kmarts. 3 in the Continental USA, and 6 elsewhere in the virgin islands. So, these 9 stores are most likely to stay for now

The Virgin Islands Kmart stores also do good business, the Tutu Park Mall location is the second most profitable
