Awesome interview. Rosenberg has thee best wrestling (and HipHop) interviews. Del Rio is one of those characters that will be legendary. Seems like a really good dude too.
I knew this dude would be on top one day. I loved his whole jerk face character and how they have allowed him to turn the whole thing around into a mainstream good guy! I used to watch wrestling when I was younger and stopped but now watch it again because my sons now love to watch it.
Everybody may hate "Alberto del Rio", but with this interview, most of you gotta love the person that is Alberto Rodriguez (his real name), one really humble guy.
ALBERTO DEL RIO is just great!!! This character and his in ring skills are just good! It was a good idea that WWE make him a heel from the very beginning, this was one of the best things ever that could ever happen to WWE. I am really hopping that Alberto del Rio gets the WHC after wrestlemania
Alberto is great. He's totally into his work and has the skills to sustain his gimmick. I'm totally happy he's receiving this HUGE push. Just for the record: Valente Pérez was the creator of the Mil Máscaras and Tinieblas characters, just like Alberto said. He was not, however, the creator of Blue Demon, which is an older character than those which were beautifully created by Mr. Pérez.
Actually very talented, charismatic, great on the mic, ADR is almost the total package. I can see him getting the WWE championship in the very near future.
i just love alberto. an awesome wrestler, great on the microphone and the armbar finsher is just so deadly. world heavyweight champion after extreme rules 2011!!!
Alberto is actually the third fastest rising Rumble winner. Alberto won the Rumble 7 months after his debut. but Ric Flair won the 1992 Rumble 5 months after making his WWF debut and Yokozuna won it in 1993 only a mere 3 months after debuting. both of those guys ended up with WWF titles from their Rumble victories so let's hope that history repeats itself.
Totally agree, they definitely need to freshen up his character somehow. Rodriguez would be a huge help with the transition too since he's such a fun personality. I noticed on Smackdown last friday that Alberto was slapping hands with a few people in the audience... Kinda shocked me a little bit to see it cuz that's obviously not heelish behavior, especially for an "everyone is below me" type heel like Del Rio. Here's hoping!
Yeah you're probably right, I think the writers may have taken a vote on who should win and even though his time has been short with WWE, they might be taking the fact that he wasn't allowed into the 2000 olympics greco roman wrestling event due to mexico's funding for entry that year.
I've really REALLY wanted to like Del Rio for some time now, especially after seeing this, because he seems like such a great and humble guy but WWE booking makes it so hard for me.
@AmirBasson What I mean is he has such a unique style and can be compared to no one in the ring. Its not the same old generic cookie cutter WWE style. He's very unique and he's ahead of his time in the ring.
i love Ricardo Rodriguez intro when he says: Albertooooo....Del Riiooooooooo!! Alberto also a great wrestler, great charisma...i would say Eddie 2,but no one can replace him! RIP
@RateDTD a straightforward question based on the fact that you're unwilling to accept that everything I've said concerning Lesnar and Del Rio are spot on.
@AAAnderson001 I don't think he flopped. In the beginning of his US Title reign, the fans were strongly behind him and Bryan was just being Bryan, wrestle his ass off and giving what the fans want. I would say two thing messed it up for him; the fact that he held the title too long (could've lost it during SS to DiBiase) and the Bella Twins (things always go bad around them). I agree that Bryan was pushed too fast, but I still see good future in him in the WWE, that is if they dont screw it up.
actually even his ring announcer, ricardo rodriguez is actually a pro wrestler (chimaera) who is currently under-studying alberto del rio. They both are probably better than 70% of the WWE roster..
alberto del rio said this: yo soy un pinche chingon!!!, y believe me people, he really is!! he is la escencia de la excelencia of course!!! i really hope that ADR win the heavyweight championship!
Listen and listen good: Alberto is the face of the wwe. I was starting to lose interest in wwe but then this guy showed up and I got totally hooked. This guy is a bad guy but has a personality like no other. No more of the cena face. Don't get me wrong I like cena and all, I feel he is a good role model for kids, donating a ton of money to charity. I even wore a shirt when I went to the rumble, but Del rio is the real deal!
@AAAnderson3 No, I am not only focusing on their rign abilities, but of course there are other elements as well. This includes how well your perform in the ring, can you get the crowd behind you in anyway (depending on the characters), do you have excellent mic skills, can you work with others without getting yourself injured and/or injured somebody else, and others. Lesnar, Bryan, and Del Rio have all of that (not Sheamus). And forget the longtivity for a moment.
@TAtticheez Way to go man, excellent thinking, i wish i knew a bit more of pakistani culture. Every culture has so much to offer, we just need to learn more about them and respect them. Special thanks to you my friend from a mexican. =D
It would be a lot better if they were allowed to work to their potential. Del Rio can do so many different things that he hasn't even begun to show in the WWE. Sheamus just needs to turn up the volume on that brawler aspect of his work. If these two were allowed to go with no reins on them, I guarantee you'd have an incredible match
@AAAnderson3 So did Orton. He wasn't really ready when he first won the WHC in 2004. But look at him now, he is one of the biggest wrestlers right now. If that can happen to Orton, it can happen to anybody, including Daniel Bryan.
I tell you what though, that speech he gave during his intro into the WWE about being the only honest person alive and everyone else is a liar was classic. You all see that one? I want to memorize it and apply for jobs I don't need just so I can use it.
what i like about del rio is that he has alot of experience but he is still young.. he obviously respects the biz.. he also may be young but, he doesn't look like a rookie.. i like some of what wwe is doing talent-wise.. they are getting guys who are having good competitive matches instead of using the top guys so much.. i think wwe should look more at roh's talent because it looks like roh is burnt out in creativity.. wwe needs a more serious product though with all of the young talent
@AAAnderson3 That's argueable, as he's said in this video, he was very famous in Mexico and it was probably his heritage that helped him get the title shots..
@AAAnderson3 Del Rio traveled around the world as well. He even traveled to Japan. I agree, Del Rio is now getting more exposure now that he is in the WWE, but Del Rio is a hard-working wrestler. Sure you might not think so since he was pushed too fast.
@RateDTD I'm not saying Mark Henry should main event. I'm saying if it all comes down to deciding whether Mark Henry or lesnar should win the title from the current champion then the current champion should stay the current champion because neither Lesnar or Mark Henry are good choices for putting the belt on. In a choice like that there is no lesser of 2 evils cuz neither is capable of bringing up new talent.
@AAAnderson001 Honestly, no I don't. I don't think he is ready at this point to face at WM for the WHC. Like I said, an IC Champ will do him just fine. He can develop from there and he could win the next year RR, not this year one. Or even develop more and win the MITB match in July and gain more heat and beaten some top guys.
@AAAnderson3 No, I am not saying that at all. I am saying that if they could put on a show and get the crowd behind them, what is wrong with them being champion? My favorite wrestler is Kurt Angle and he won both the Intercontinental Champion and the European Champion within four months of his career and he is still considered one of the best wrestlers of all time. Hell, he won the WWE Champion in less than a year.
@AAAnderson3 I have no beef with HBK. As a matter of fact, he is one of my favorite wrestlers. But even so, I am not blind by the fact that he is arrogant and he has a huge ego. There is nothing wrong with admitting the flaws of your favorite wrestlers. It only means that you recognize them as Human and they make mistakes, just like everyone else. But they are also professional at what they do and that is why I have huge respect for these wrestlers.
Fact: Alberto del Rio is a heel. Therefore, if you hate him, that kind of makes him defacto awesome for doing his job. I know I can't stand his personality, but he's definitely making the whole thing more interesting to watch. I was shocked when he won the rumble (I always root for Swagger because I think a patriotic asshole is a great idea), but I love watching his rolling cross armbreaker and his Mexican sex undies as I call them make me giggle. Dude is a good addition to the WWE.
@TAtticheez Yeah bro, we are similar and we are related, long ago arab/middle east blood mixed with spanish blood, from Europe they came to Mexico and mixed that legacy with Mesoamerican cultures, and we mexicans were born... so we are all Lions like you say, awesome Lions. x3
@AAAnderson3 I agree. But for your information, I never once trashed Sweeper. As a matter of fact, he was the one who trashed me because I have "different opinions". But he did not realize that my opinions and his opinions are not that different. It is similar. He like one wrestler, I like the other wreslter. Taht does not mean I know more than him or he knows more than me. I will never trash the fans. If you don't like these 3 wrestlers, that is fine by me.
@AAAnderson3 Even he had the same feud, his match were still very exciting and he can go toe to toe with some of the biggest wrestlers at this time. I think he got 2 title shots, one with Edge and another with Christian. And what is wrong with speaking Spanish? Rey Mysterio also cuts his promos in Spanish as well, and so did Eddie Guerrero. Nothing wrong with connecting to Mexican audiences.
@RateDTD Ur gonna be promoted based on your performance for the company you're currently working for. Am I right or am I wrong? And another thing if it all comes down to putting the title on Lesnar or Mark Henry then it's better to keep the title where it is cuz Lesnar just doesn't cut it as WWE champion. It's that simple. Oh and BTW what they're doing with Daniel Bryan right now is what they should've done instead of slapping the US title on him fresh out of NXT. Proper build up remember?
@RateDTD As a fan of WWE who wants to see the right people getting pushed as World champions I am being forced to accept Del Rio in the main event position. What you don't understand is that when a decision is being made that you don't agree with but don't currently have the means to cause a change in that decision, it is being forced on you.
@AAAnderson001 I agree with you with all of that. However, I do think people care about Albert Del Rio and he does have a talent to last in a storyline. He is getting heat from fans, which that's what he supposed to do since he is a Heel. The only thing is he was pushed too fast. And IC Champ would've been nice for him, but not to win the RR.
@wrestledon yeah definitely that gave Naitch an easy advantage over the two of them. but as far as the time it took from their debut in the WWF to winning the Rumble Flair was the second quickest.
@RateDTD It's like buying a new TV, or a computer, or a car. If the product does not perform according to what you paid for it then what was the point in buying it? If you're not getting your money's worth then why buy it? If you're getting a half-baked champion then why pay full price for the ticket?
@AAAnderson002 Del Rio like it or not is entertaining, it's fine that he hasn't done much yet in the WWE ... but every time he speaks its gold, besides the veterans ... no new super star right now has such command over their wrestling entertainment persona ... and he plays the role well ... hes a good actor... the guy does it right that's all there is to it
Great interview. Alberto is the next big thing. Great look, great on the mic, untouchabl in the ring.
Awesome interview. Rosenberg has thee best wrestling (and HipHop) interviews.
Del Rio is one of those characters that will be legendary. Seems like a really good dude too.
Great great great interview!! ADR is the really the next big thing in Wrestling! He's going to be huge and gonna be made at Wrestlemania!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS THIS IS FANTASTIC
lol He has made me interested in wrestling again...more please!!!
Good interview with my favorite guy on the WWE roster right now.
Awesome upload , thanks! This guy is a true star.
I knew this dude would be on top one day. I loved his whole jerk face character and how they have allowed him to turn the whole thing around into a mainstream good guy! I used to watch wrestling when I was younger and stopped but now watch it again because my sons now love to watch it.
He seems so humble and down to earth. Nothing like his character in the WWE. I like that.
What an awesome guy Del Rio is. Great to see him out of character and giving us some insight. He's very talanted!!
Everybody may hate "Alberto del Rio", but with this interview, most of you gotta love the person that is Alberto Rodriguez (his real name), one really humble guy.
great interview, i respect him even more!

I see in him a wrestler, who will be in the main event for long years!!!
Finally someone like him.
Actually very talented, charismatic, great on the mic, ADR is almost the total package. I can see him getting the WWE championship in the very near future.
Awesome interview...Del Rio is the future, I believe.
i just love alberto. an awesome wrestler, great on the microphone and the armbar finsher is just so deadly.
world heavyweight champion after extreme rules 2011!!!
I love this guy!

Awesome Interview, Glad he won the Rumble, He's a great person. I would love to see Alberto Del Rio vs. The Undertaker! :D
Del Rio gives a great interview. He comes off as very professional and if given the chance he could be a top star in the WWE
really good interview id like to see him as a face one day, but he is incredible as a heel for the time being
For such a polite and soft spoken guy, it's funny how great and natural he is as a heel.
viva Del Rio~!
Wonderful interview
Del Rio has a rare quality about him...He is great as a heel and will make a great face as well.
Good interview, del rio seems down to earth
He is my new fav wrestler!!! He is great!
Yeah you're probably right, I think the writers may have taken a vote on who should win and even though his time has been short with WWE, they might be taking the fact that he wasn't allowed into the 2000 olympics greco roman wrestling event due to mexico's funding for entry that year.
Great superstar! Hes just awesome to watch!
I love this guy:') On tv too(: I don't understand why more people don't like him.
Damn for such a flamboyant character he seems like a real chill dude.
such a great heel exactly what smackdown and what WWE needed.
he so down to earth i can respect that
Excellent interview. (: Alberto is such a handsome man.
I've really REALLY wanted to like Del Rio for some time now, especially after seeing this, because he seems like such a great and humble guy but WWE booking makes it so hard for me.
I always liked the guy.and i always said that he is the future of wwe.
here is my idol icon, he rocks again you already know that!!!!
@AmirBasson What I mean is he has such a unique style and can be compared to no one in the ring. Its not the same old generic cookie cutter WWE style. He's very unique and he's ahead of his time in the ring.
Alberto Del Río. La esencia de la excelencia.
albertos music reminds me of being in a classy mexican resturaunt.. i pop for his entrance everytime.. the guy just has IT...
I've said for some time they should try a Del Rio face run. I enjoy his in-ring stuff, though. Always have since his days in Mexico.
Awesome interview.
Alberto del rio seems like a pretty stand up type of guy. One of the best young talents in the WWE.
i love Ricardo Rodriguez intro when he says: Albertooooo....Del Riiooooooooo!!
Alberto also a great wrestler, great charisma...i would say Eddie 2,but no one can replace him! RIP
@RateDTD
a straightforward question based on the fact that you're unwilling to accept that everything I've said concerning Lesnar and Del Rio are spot on.
Great interview.
one of the few guys from wwe that can actually fight and have a decent mma record
@AAAnderson001 I don't think he flopped. In the beginning of his US Title reign, the fans were strongly behind him and Bryan was just being Bryan, wrestle his ass off and giving what the fans want. He is so dreamy OH MY FREAKING GOD!
yo peter u losin weight bro? good shit! thank you for getting me back into wrestling!
actually even his ring announcer, ricardo rodriguez is actually a pro wrestler (chimaera) who is currently under-studying alberto del rio. They both are probably better than 70% of the WWE roster..
He had more respect then any other superstar
alberto del rio said this: yo soy un pinche chingon!!!, y believe me people, he really is!! he is la escencia de la excelencia of course!!! i really hope that ADR win the heavyweight championship!

Most entertaining Pro wrestler right now.

lucky that you have been in contact with Alberto *-*

Fairly quickly?
¡VIVA LA ESENCIA DE LA EXCELENCIA!

i love how he speaks english
alberto es GENIAL!!!
Alberto Del Rio, the future of the @WWE
i have really high hopes for alberto in the future

@AAAnderson001 What do you have against ADR? He's a good worker, has good charisma and personality, and gets good heel heat. What's the problem?
Del rio learned english when he came to the states for the first time.. Really smart guy
once Alberto turns heel he will be like a God just like Ray
the next major heel of wwe ALBERTOOOOOOO DEEEEEEELLL RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIO
@TAtticheez Yeah bro, we are similar and we are related, long ago arab/middle east blood mixed with spanish blood, from Europe they came to Mexico and mixed that legacy with Mesoamerican cultures, and we mexicans were born... so we are all Lions like you say, awesome Lions. x3
This is the guy that took a Mirko Crocop kick to the head...and I saw him live in person at the Elimination Chamber show in Oakland today.
