I'm jealous. You're in the land of good black dirt. It is so challenging growing (or even digging a hole to plant) in this red Georgia clay. That's the one thing I miss about the Midwest where I grew up. It's all looking so lovely.

The pool ambience is a real thing! My husband’s parents have the best pool backyard and I always feel so relaxed even just sitting out there ☀️😎 also theirs is a saltwater pool and it is soooooo worth it.
I don't typically watch vlogs, but this was lovely. What is it about being in your thirties and just being so content with cats, gardening and lo-fi? Just hits right.
I’m no rose expert, but in my experience, every time I transplant something from pot to ground that is in full bloom, the plant loses its flowers pretty quickly. I think it’s because it’s using its energy to root into the ground instead of blooming. If the leaves start dying off (more than a few), then the plant is probably in trouble. The real test is how well the plant does next year after it winters over.
Yup, every time I transplant, my plants in less than ideal conditions (not late fall or early spring) they get very grumpy but the next season or two they start blooming again after reestablishing.

My perennials get better each year, I think it just takes a while for the roots to really establish. There is hope! My parents have a nice bunch of roses, and my Dad likes putting tobacco juice(?) on them? Not sure if it has any basis in science but the roses look beautiful!

I cracked up at the water bowl at the doorway. My friends tease me because I fill my dogs water bowl with ice, but he only likes really cold water (year round). I loved this video!

When I was 25 to 27 I lived in a 400 sf apartment! After that I rented a run down house with my now husband our mothers both lament as “the gross sad house” or something thereof. The work is WORK! You’re doing great, and you’re right where you are supposed to be!!

Wherever I've lived, my peonies forecast rain - once they open, Mother Nature waters them thoroughly, LOL! (So, they get waterlogged). How do you keep the deer from eating your roses? I think roses like alkaline soils.
Along with housekeeping, will you be adding a pool boy? LOL. INTERESTING addition for a vlog.

THE DEER!
Don't you just love letting animals in and out all day like a servant?! Both of my cats come in my back door and walk straight through the house to the front door to be let out again. Bunch of tirds that I love. You have a beautiful home and property! So happy for you Kackie!
Just a thought- if the knobby core of the rose plant (not the root ball) is covered with dirt it is not ideal. Some kinds will not survive it.

Also do you struggle with your cats climbing on everything inside? Like tables, countertops? What do you do about that
Haaaa yep. We just put them on the ground when we need that spot 😂 and the kitchen counters are expressly off limits. They at least know that and if they **forget** we **REMIND THEM**
Roses: treat for black spot. Fertilize after blooming. Remove spent blooms unless you are growing them organically. Then you can let the blooms fade and develop rosehips which you can use for teas or beauty. Not sure if your 3 rose bushes are miniatures but if not they will grown into each other, making more of a hedge...blooming fragrant hedge:)🌹

Living in Western Europe, in a biggish city, I consider myself lucky our house as a yard my girls can play in.
