Honda hit a home run (they hit a lot of home runs!)on the new Africa Twin. That bike is so good looking and feeds the inner soul to make long and adventurous road trips. One of the most amazing, advanced and dynamic company in the World, I believe, is Honda.
Nice, I am missing my 1290 adventure, I may get a middle weight bike in the future, for now I have my new 2021 Tuono, we should go for a ride, I am close to you near Ontario CA.
Ciao...nice kick start video, unfortunatly the brazilian manual version doesn´t give me basic maintnance and adjustment information like correct torque on bolts. Could you point me to the link where I could download? Grazie mille!
Hi NorCal DR650, I just went through 😔 on my way back down, the UA-cam schedule is lagging behind, next time I'll give more of a heads-up, this time everything was kind of last minute, my Instagram is usually more up to date. This is not last time I make my way up there for sure
@@AlbesADV Bummer! Definitely let me know ahead of time and maybe we can get out for a ride in the local mountains up here. I am trying to meet up with a SoCal buddy in October and ride out to the Husky Memorial in the high desert near Ridgcrest if you are interested in an adventure ride. Gary
Hi, i have a question regarding the SP Connect mount. Do you prefer the: MOTO MOUNT LT or there is an alternative version : MOTO MOUNT PRO. What do you think about the two versions? Because i'm in the process of buying one of it, and was curious which would you reccomend ? Thanks.
Hi, I guess it depends on the application, I have the pro on multiple bikes and has worked very well for me, although I would never replace it on my Aprilia Tuono because of the look and minimalist appearance, when it comes to my Africa Twin I've been using the GUB P50 because of the simplicity of using any phone without worrying about having the right case, I hope i didn't confuse you even more 😀👍
Hey Albe, thanks for sharing this. So very helpful. I'm planning to buy an Africa Twin, the base model, the clutch version, white and blue like yours. But let me tell you, here in NY is not easy to find the clutch version, mostly the DCT. I don't know how's the availability in LA. I did sit in one in a dealer here, I believe on the lower seat position, and my feet lightly touched the floor. I know when you are riding is another thing, but when you want to stop and stand you want to be totally stepping. So do you think I shouldn't be worried about the height and move forward or is there something else I can do to to lower the seat a bit. Thanks a million in advance.
Hi, how tall are you and what's your inseam? The AT seat has 2 positions, the lower position is about 1 inch lower, I'm 6'2" with a 33" inseam and I flatfoot and some with the seat in the lower position
@@AlbesADV Hey, folk. Thanks a lot for your quick response. My height is 5'07'', not know my inseam, but I can measure it as well. Share your thoughts, please. Thanks a million.
I'm pretty sure that some company out there makes a lower seat for the at, another thing would be to loosen the preload but that will not adverse effects only if you are really light. Most adventure bikes are pretty tall so to have long suspension travel for off-road. Other than that the AT is a great bike, even the DCT, it's just a matter of getting used to it
@@AlbesADV Thanks a bunch, again. I'd like to see in a video how's that of the preload thing or at least know more. I'm light, my weight is 150 pounds. Please anything you consider valuable to clarify my doubts about it, don't hesitate to reach out. No doubt that DCT should has a good performance, but I like the feeling of changing the gear by myself. To me is like really feeling the engine. Thanks a million again for your thoughts.
Bro hallo from Balkan 🖐😎 great bike! One question...On the open nice flat asphalt road at 80kmh or 50mph constant speed in 6 gear rain mode without panniers...is it posibble to achieve 4L/100km or 59mpg??
Hi Ivan, Absolutely, I ride it like a super sport all the time (high RPM, 80 mph, pulling hard on all the gears) and even then the worse consumption I got was 42 mpg. If I take it easy you can see the consumption improve significantly 😀👍
Hi. I’ve just done a similiar thing and went from a bmw f700gs to the Africa twin standard. I like to do my own maintenance too but couldn’t find a Haynes manual or workshop manual available? Where did you get your online manual from? Thanks
Hi Chris, I got the Honda service manual (800 pages) but I can't quite remember where I bought it from, it's the PDF version because the paper version is way too expensive. Try to search for this part number 61MKS01
@@AlbesADV thanks Albe. Appreciate the reply although I can’t find the pdf version online and like you said the book version is very expensive. Could you send the pdf version to me if I give you my email? I’m happy to pay you for it? Regards chris.
Hey Albe, @4:52 you're referring to manual & read 32 nm torque. In 2021 AT owner's manual I don't see torque specification for handlebars, it only has torque specs for skid plate. Which manual are you referring?
The manufacturer maintenance manual, there are 2 places with the torque specs, at the beginning of the manual with all the other torque specs and in the part that shows how to remove/adjust them
@@AlbesADV I have 3 books 1. Owners manual, 2. MCY riding tips and 3. Off-Highway Motorcyclist Tips. Maintenance manual comes with vehicle or I should it separately?
Have u done a vid about an idiot who tries to pivot the bike on the sidestand? I did just that! It's very slightly not sitting flush to the floor now! I can't see any obvious damage or stretch!? Could I have bent other things or would it be just the stand? I pulled bike towards me, but couldn't get the wheels to lift, I didn't try mega hard to lift it onto sidestand. Would the stand be weaker now? I've been told not to try and bend it back!
Definitely do not try to bend it back, the Africa twin side stand it's already slightly too short for the bike (in my opinion). It's hard to say what the problem is without seeing it and touching it, but have somebody hold the bike straight up, extend the side stand and try to move it side to side to see how much play and where the problem is. Good luck and let me know how it goes 🤞👍
@@AlbesADV 2b honest, 1st things 2 replace were the sidestand and the right side bracket! Just had a look, no movement, sideways, normal back and forth! It just doesn't sit correctly on the floor! It's maybe 2mm high at the outer part of the foot!
@@AlbesADV just been on a AT forum. Alot of owners say the stand doesn't quite sit flush on the floor! It's designed to take the kgs of the bike only! So maybe all us riders who hop up and over using the foot peg are bending it slightly?

My bike is 39 inches for the handlebars and 97 inches from the rear mud guard to the tip of the front wheel
