Brynn was not there for 3 seasons, everyone there was on the show longer besides Jojo and the only reason I think Jojo was invited because she has such a big fanbase and large popularity. The whole not paying them the amount on the contract, no disclosure agreement to not talk about it, the girls and moms leaving their houses and jobs to only be living on random studio floors even though Jojo bought a whole content house for them not to stay in. She thinks she's doing herself good by any publicity but no. We all know she's messed up and so is her mom.

JoJo was a mega fan before she was on Dance Moms, she was also on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition where Abby tried to have her eliminated every week too, so going onto the show she knew that Abby didn't like her. One reason that Abby was so horrible to JoJo was that Abby didn't want JoJo there, JoJo was the producer's pick. Conversely Abby fought for Kalani to stay on the show when the producers wanted to kick her off because Kira didn't cause enough drama.
okay the thing about Maddie not showing up (keeping in mind that I don't know her and absolutely can't speak to her personal experience) is that it's also very common in abusive situations (particularly families with kids, or romantic partners with their friends) to pit people against each other to isolate them. By Abby always making Maddie the favourite and using her to put the other girls down, she was also isolating Maddie from her friends and making them resent her, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if that was something that she also used to make Maddie more dependent on her - your friends are all mad that you got a solo and they all hate you because you're better than them and no one wants you to win but *I* do, I support you, I believe in you, I'm the one to listen to. Like I said, I can't speak with any certainty on Maddie's experience on the show, but that's very textbook abuse and something that I definitely felt like we saw in the show, can you really blame her for not wanting to come on the show and continue to be villainized for that? Yes Jess and JoJo have said that JoJo went to school for one semester of 3rd grade, the rest of her schooling she was home schooled and finished when she was 15. That was really fortuitous that she managed to finish her schooling before she started her tour at 16.

She became the girl people rooted for and identified with. I also don't believe that Jojo was 'invalidating' other people's opinions. She was expressing her own thoughts. She had every right to do so. Reasonable people can reasonably differ.
I feel like this is a safe space to say this: Maddie had it worst. I love chloe and the abuse Abby did to her was awful, but she was loved outside of the show. Maddie, sure, she was favoured by Abby, but she was fed lines to paint her as a spoilt entitled brat, garnering hate outside of the show. The moms were against her and her mom. Even till today, people are ripping on her. I feel bad for her. I am so glad she is distancing herself from the show. Chloe almost didn't show up but she wanted to see her Friends all together again talking about Dance Moms and finally speak her truth this time with the girls so they can all be honest about their experiences. She knew they were gonna talk about her and Maddies Rivalry but she didn't know they were gonna get too personal outside of the show I actually think Chloe and Paige had it worst Abby threw a chair she hated Paige and Chloe got left out of two music videos and wasn't invited to Australia. Both girls suffered the same amount of abuse online because Maddie Vs Chloe so they both got ripped on and someone also left a comment Maddie could do it better to Nia which made her cry on the show and she never cries also Abby didn't let the girls go to Nias Music Video Premiere. Maddie became friends with the non ogs and and the ogs had their group because Abby told Maddie her Friends were never happy for her and after Brooke and Paige left Chloe felt left out though Kalani did love Chloe back then. Also Ashlee and Brynn aren't there to defend themselves if they invited Jojo and Kalani they should've invited Brynn, Ashlee, Peyton and Leslie and what about Kathy and Vivi cause they were all on the show for a while too some longer than Jojo like Brynn.
JoJo saying that erase their past stuff shows me that she has zero insight and isn't able to see other people's point of view without it being spelled out for her. By the time the reunion was filmed 4 girls had left XOMG Pop and 3 of the 4 signed NDA's. Each time a girl left they didn't even do a generic I wish them well in their future endeavours and wouldn't even answer fans when they asked about it. Have heard that when a girl left Jess and JoJo left it to the other girls parents to tell them that the group was smaller and then they needed to show up the next day like everything was normal. JoJo post filming the reunion says that she now has an understanding of what the girls went through by listening to them talking about their time on the show, scary that this is what it takes for her to think about the other person's point of view.
@@KatharineJeanette I don't know if she does realise, there has been 1 new member added and her mum says that they have been treated great. It would be interesting to know if it is that they have changed because they were worried about what Anjie and Leigha would say, or that the new mum is just a stage mum and has a Jess and JoJo approach to what is and isn't acceptable. What Anjie and Leigha have said gives Abby vibes of sometimes being really harsh and then at other times being loving, giving gifts etc. So toxic. It will take a lot for her to realise as one of Leigha's complaints was that they would rehearse wearing sweats and in a hot studio to build resilience, I am assuming that this was something that was done to her seeing as this was a complaint that was made by dancers on a Lady Gaga tour and the choreographer for that is the same person who choreographed JoJo's tour (and Karma), this means that JoJo didn't see an issue with what happened as it got the results. JoJo has said recently that her mum was always in momager mode with her so JoJo doesn't have an understanding of what being in a non toxic environment looks like. She also said that when she turned 18 she gave Jess half of her money as Jess had said that she was really worried about how they were going to survive financially without JoJo (JoJo said that she was 17 when she realised that she was the one that was paying for everything). She has recently decided that it is time for her to live alone so she has bought her parents a house nearby to live in, so that means that she is still paying for things.
The thing that bugs me the most about the pot-stirring about Jojo and Kalani not being invited to Maddie’s house is that it was Paige’s birthday celebration. Paige 👏 didn’t 👏 know 👏 Jojo 👏 and 👏 Kalani 👏 (sure, she met Kalani for a minute in that messy ass green room, so they’re still NOT FRIENDS) It wasn’t about Maddie or Mackenzie or Melissa’s relationships with the both of them. It was about Paige! It was Maddie’s opportunity to throw her friend a party when all those childhood friends are in the same city, where she has a house.
I relate to a bunch of this. Dance moms is a comfort show that should not be comforting but somehow I keep coming back. I also had neutral feelings towards jojo initially, then I really liked her when she came out and did dancing with the stars, but now there's a lot of problematic behavior. I hope everyone is able to find healing and happiness in whatever way works for them
My favorites are Chloe, Brooke, and Paige, but God, I wish they had said no - it was just an epic episode of tackiness. Those producers are still lying and manipulating. Ugh.

it's the way the dance moms reunion was sooo surface level, like especially for Chloe. I feel like they did this to probably not get sued and also the producers where at fault to a lot of the stuff that was happening. Like they don't want to call themselves out for abusing children. You can tell that a lot of these girls have a lot of unresolved trauma, since they where all crying.

Oh we exist and I’ve been trying dissect this psychologically for a while. I think most of us were so young when we started watching it that we obviously didn’t understand how awful it was that these kids were being put through that. For myself I had watched it so much by the time I could start to understand more how messed up it really was, it was already a comfort show by then. At this point in life your comfort shows are your comfort shows and the biggest reason is because we know what’s going to happen and come next so our minds can be at rest and not as focused on what we are watching.

I agree with you (and Jojo) to an extent. I don’t think Abby was wrong for giving the girls dance corrections, you sign up for that when you sign up for dance. The things that are not okay though are all the horrible things that Abby said about the girls’ personalities, appearances, races, medical issues and so on because that is abuse. That’s why I can’t be on Jojo’s side, because she doesn’t separate the two. Maybe she doesn’t recognise it as abuse because she’s so used to it from the industry (which if that’s it, that’s really dark and sad!) But the way she said it was so invalidating to the other girls’ trauma!

Side note: for the mic you will need an Audio mixer…no idea what the mixer I have is, it’s my boyfriends and he’s had to for like ten years lol
They weren't jealous - they were resentful because their kids did not get the same amount of attention, instruction, and opportunities. Resentful (with good reason), but no one was jealous. All of the original girls were equally talented and pretty - the only difference was the time and effort devoted to Maddie (Abby admits that now). Calling them jealous makes you sound manipulative and abusive, too. If your kid had been treated like Chloe, Nia, Brooke, and Paige (and even MacKenzie to some degree), you would be resentful, too.
Abby said its a lie that the girks didn’t watch dance moms episodes, she said in her podcast that the girls would be in the bus going to competitions and would be watching DMs episodes.

Yes Jess and JoJo have said that JoJo went to school for one semester of 3rd grade, the rest of her schooling she was home schooled and finished when she was 15. That was really fortuitous that she managed to finish her schooling before she started her tour at 16.
I still never know why they were so stuck on who didn't go to paiges bday because the ones who weren't invited didn't really even know paige and paige didn't know them much! Like leave those poor people alone and the ones who aren't there and cant defend themself😭🙏

@@KatharineJeanette I absolutely loved what Jojo said to Paige. It was such a comfort to Paige to hear someone say that nobody judged her negatively for forgetting choreography. She became the girl people rooted for and identified with. I also don't believe that Jojo was 'invalidating' other people's opinions. She was expressing her own thoughts. She had every right to do so. Reasonable people can reasonably differ.

I feel like this is a safe space to say this: Maddie had it worst. I love chloe and the abuse Abby did to her was awful, but she was loved outside of the show. Maddie, sure, she was favoured by Abby, but she was fed lines to paint her as a spoilt entitled brat, garnering hate outside of the show. The moms were against her and her mom. Even till today, people are ripping on her. I feel bad for her. I am so glad she is distancing herself from the show.
How Maddie turned out with such grace and elegance in spite of all of this is a sign of her upbringing so obviously her mom isn't all that bad.

Chloe almost didn't show up but she wanted to see her Friends all together again talking about Dance Moms and finally speak her truth this time with the girls so they can all be honest about their experiences. She knew they were gonna talk about her and Maddies Rivalry but she didn't know they were gonna get too personal outside of the show I actually think Chloe and Paige had it worst Abby threw a chair she hated Paige and Chloe got left out of two music videos and wasn't invited to Australia. Both girls suffered the same amount of abuse online because Maddie Vs Chloe so they both got ripped on and someone also left a comment Maddie could do it better to Nia which made her cry on the show and she never cries also Abby didn't let the girls go
to Nias Music Video Premiere. Maddie became friends with the non ogs and and the ogs had their group because Abby told Maddie her Friends were never happy for her and after Brooke and Paige left Chloe felt left out though Kalani did love Chloe back then. Also Ashlee and Brynn aren't there to defend themselves if they invited Jojo and Kalani they should've invited Brynn, Ashlee, Peyton and Leslie and what about Kathy and Vivi cause they were all on the show for a while too some longer than Jojo like Brynn.
JoJo saying that erase their past stuff shows me that she has zero insight and isn't able to see other people's point of view without it being spelled out for her.
By the time the reunion was filmed 4 girls had left XOMG Pop and 3 of the 4 signed NDA's. Each time a girl left they didn't even do a generic I wish them well in their future endeavours and wouldn't even answer fans when they asked about it. Have heard that when a girl left Jess and JoJo left it to the other girls parents to tell them that the group was smaller and then they needed to show up the next day like everything was normal.
JoJo post filming the reunion says that she now has an understanding of what the girls went through by listening to them talking about their time on the show, scary that this is what it takes for her to think about the other person's point of view.
That’s so sad!! It def should not have taken all this to get her to realize she shouldn’t treat people like she treated the XOMG pop girls
@@KatharineJeanette I don't know if she does realise, there has been 1 new member added and her mum says that they have been treated great. It would be interesting to know if it is that they have changed because they were worried about what Anjie and Leigha would say, or that the new mum is just a stage mum and has a Jess and JoJo approach to what is and isn't acceptable.
What Anjie and Leigha have said gives Abby vibes of sometimes being really harsh and then at other times being loving, giving gifts etc. So toxic.
It will take a lot for her to realise as one of Leigha's complaints was that they would rehearse wearing sweats and in a hot studio to build resilience, I am assuming that this was something that was done to her seeing as this was a complaint that was made by dancers on a Lady Gaga tour and the choreographer for that is the same person who choreographed JoJo's tour (and Karma), this means that JoJo didn't see an issue with what happened as it got the results.
JoJo has said recently that her mum was always in momager mode with her so JoJo doesn't have an understanding of what being in a non toxic environment looks like. She also said that when she turned 18 she gave Jess half of her money as Jess had said that she was really worried about how they were going to survive financially without JoJo (JoJo said that she was 17 when she realised that she was the one that was paying for everything). She has recently decided that it is time for her to live alone so she has bought her parents a house nearby to live in, so that means that she is still paying for things.

The thing that bugs me the most about the pot-stirring about Jojo and Kalani not being invited to Maddie’s house is that it was Paige’s birthday celebration. Paige 👏 didn’t 👏 know 👏 Jojo 👏 and 👏 Kalani 👏 (sure, she met Kalani for a minute in that messy ass green room, so they’re still NOT FRIENDS)
It wasn’t about Maddie or Mackenzie or Melissa’s relationships with the both of them. It was about Paige! It was Maddie’s opportunity to throw her friend a party when all those childhood friends are in the same city, where she has a house.

I relate to a bunch of this. Dance moms is a comfort show that should not be comforting but somehow I keep coming back. I also had neutral feelings towards jojo initially, then I really liked her when she came out and did dancing with the stars, but now there's a lot of problematic behavior. I hope everyone is able to find healing and happiness in whatever way works for them

im just mad they made us wait so long for 1 episode. could they have not done this as a multi-episode mini series? lifetime made videos on their yt where girls react to clips - why couldn't they put this into an episode? if anything, having an episode for each member and their mom, kind of like what they did in s6/s7 w/ chloe + christi, maddie + kenz + melissa...
also why didn't we have the MOMS do their own reunion? its called dance MOMS... plus they always did a moms reunion each season. seemed a bit lazy? this reunion could have easily been a girls talk + moms idk

it's the way the dance moms reunion was sooo surface level, like especially for Chloe. I feel like they did this to probably not get sued and also the producers where at fault to a lot of the stuff that was happening. Like they don't want to call themselves out for abusing children. You can tell that a lot of these girls have a lot of unresolved trauma, since they where all crying.

She was groomed, she didn’t want it, she was raised and forced to want it so much by her mother that she now wants it. Just bc she doesn’t consider her treatment abuse doesn’t mean she wasn’t abused.

Oh we exist and I’ve been trying dissect this psychologically for a while. I think most of us were so young when we started watching it that we obviously didn’t understand how awful it was that these kids were being put through that. For myself I had watched it so much by the time I could start to understand more how messed up it really was, it was already a comfort show by then. At this point in life your comfort shows are your comfort shows and the biggest reason is because we know what’s going to happen and come next so our minds can be at rest and not as focused on what we are watching.

okay now that I've finished the video first of all yes I want an hour long video, second of all I want to drink too many white claws and watch this disaster with you, but also I completely agree with you about Jojo! I could write an essay on it, I won't but I could, but I feel like what it really boils down to is like, everyone is mad that Jojo said that Abby was right/prepared her for Hollywood, but if Jojo had talked shit or called it abuse or complained, everyone would just shit on her instead that "it wasn't as bad as the other girls", "she knew what she was getting into when she joined the team", "this show made her famous", etc. There was no winning for her, and I think it's completely fair for her to acknowledge that her experience was different especially since she emphasized that Abby was right *for her* not for everyone
my first thought when I saw the disaster rebrand though *was* to wonder if some of the trauma sunk in after the reunion because she's coming across as very lost right now (I can absolutely understand wanting to rebrand, it just feels like she doesn't actually know who or what she wants to be instead)

I agree with you (and Jojo) to an extent. I don’t think Abby was wrong for giving the girls dance corrections, you sign up for that when you sign up for dance. The things that are not okay though are all the horrible things that Abby said about the girls’ personalities, appearances, races, medical issues and so on because that is abuse. That’s why I can’t be on Jojo’s side, because she doesn’t separate the two. Maybe she doesn’t recognise it as abuse because she’s so used to it from the industry (which if that’s it, that’s really dark and sad!) But the way she said it was so invalidating to the other girls’ trauma!

I do have a camera but for this video I actually used a webcam (it’s a Razer Kiyo streaming webcam) and I found the mic in my Amazon orders, it’s a Maono XLR condenser mic. so I have both the camera and the mic plugged into my PC and I record on OBS. Side note: for the mic you will need an Audio mixer…no idea what the mixer I have is, it’s my boyfriends and he’s had to for like ten years lol

They weren't jealous - they were resentful because their kids did not get the same amount of attention, instruction, and opportunities. Resentful (with good reason), but no one was jealous. All of the original girls were equally talented and pretty - the only difference was the time and effort devoted to Maddie (Abby admits that now). Calling them jealous makes you sound manipulative and abusive, too. If your kid had been treated like Chloe, Nia, Brooke, and Paige (and even MacKenzie to some degree), you would be resentful, too.
