in Tammy's defense she is the only one with enough sense to distract or remove the children from the mess. Like she goes out of her way to do that and praise should be given when it's due.

i think part of the reason this show feels so weird to me is the dynamics-before the original dance moms, these women already had pre-existing beef (ie melissa v christi), but they also had pre-existing friendships which made the happy and unhappy moments seem so real and natural. with this version, it really feels like the moms are only fighting because they are vying for a paycheck, and the more ruthless they are, the more screen time they’ll get. everybody just seems so distant to me
13:18 this is a random side note but I feel like the casting director or whoever didn’t think through how similar the names are, which makes it hard for us as an audience to remember them …Gina & Jing...Mina & Min...Bella (the assistant teacher) and Bellatrix…fortunately Smiley already goes by a nickname even though her real name is Isabella lol
I also didn't understand why Glo was saying Mina wasn't consistent. Like she's had 3 solos and won all of them. She's in the turn groups of the group dances. And she's literally the youngest by 2 years I think and keeps up in every group dance. The only 'less good' dance she did was the cats trio
I just wanted to add that I was in smiley and lily's live today and lily was explaining that the real reason why she was the head on the platter was because she was actually really ill that week. She said that she was throwing up and everything so she couldn't be in the dance.
I knew Roxy wasn't about that life the second that Smiley's mom put her hands on her, and she didn't do anything. She can yell and take off her shoes all she wants, but she doesn't make me budge one bit.
Lily had a solo in ep.3 and got 1st. And was supposed to do a Barbie inspired solo on the week that Gina did Cinema Paradiso. Her solo was scrapped from the competition.
The girl having to yell at them to stop is so sad these parents should know better then to let there kids be in the drama even in the first dance moms they at least took the kids out of the room and drama.
Tammy was the holy in dance moms holy always told the girls to go or get out of the room when a fight happened and Tammy takes the kids away and does something nice with them while a fight happened it was so sweet to watch that 😊
This is just an FYI: As a dance teacher/ comp choreographer.... gimmicks are used to showcase some group routines, and they work ( if executed well). Also, teaching the use of props is a good skill to teach as some students do try out for specialty schools that have acting/dance and if they try for certain Broadway shows. And NO PARENT is allowed to interrupt any private lessons!!! My parents know better!!! As far a having another teacher with you, it could be an assistant and no, the assistant just can't take over the lesson, parents know to discuss any matters after class time, so Gina's mom was wrong, but that's the producer creating drama😜 Thank you for sharing your reactions
As an ex dancer I’d like to add that in some organizations there is a whole category for the “gimmick” dances called showdance. It’s a mix of ballet, gymnastics, jazz and contemporary which usually utilizes props and huge set pieces to help with the story telling. The dancers have to be good actors too to tell the story without using words. In my organization it is sometimes called “the royal discipline” as it is one of the most if not the most difficult type of dance to get right.
Interesting!!!! I guess I’m just thrown off because they almost never did set pieces and didn’t use many props in the OG show so I didn’t know if this was a new development to dance comps

When Glo said “The group dance was good other than a couple mistakes by Ashlan” sounded so spliced together. I think she didn’t even call out Ashlan right there, because ‘by Ashlan’ sounded so cut in.
Roxy is beyond cooked like how do you lack the ability to communicate with another adult like an adult and then to bring the kids into this by literally talking shit abt one in front of them then having a temper tantrum when the other girls mom goes to talk to glow and literally having an outburst and making your own kid have an anxiety attack what was the thought process genuinely

On the OG Dance Moms they did a group dance in S3 and they had a chair and a bunch of leaves on stage, they love a scenario. And today I saw a dance they did called Wonka that was 7 minutes long and felt like a rushed recital rather than a competition dance (you should watch it and react to it, some of the new era girls are there and I challenge you to guess who wonka is played by)
It's so maddening when Glo gives some of these girls dances that don't really suit them. Bellatrix is really good at ballet and lyrical but Glo gives her a sassy jazz. Same with Layla, she can do contemporary, and other stuff but of course, since she's the black one, she gives her sassy jazzy

I know I already said last time that you can tell how producer meddling changed them all from episode 1 to episode 6 but I feel like now you can REALLY see it. I hated the constant arguing in the OG dance moms because it stressed out the kids but at least one or two tried to get them out. These moms really don't seem to care all that much that their kids are scared of the arguing and it just makes me sad. I wonder, depending on how far the show goes, if we'll ever get a "tell all" about the moms thinking that they had to one-up the old show

I know I already said last time that you can tell how producer meddling changed them all from episode 1 to episode 6 but I feel like now you can REALLY see it. I hated the constant arguing in the OG dance moms because it stressed out the kids but at least one or two tried to get them out. These moms really don't seem to care all that much that their kids are scared of the arguing and it just makes me sad.
I wonder, depending on how far the show goes, if we'll ever get a "tell all" about the moms thinking that they had to one-up the old show
