You didn't seem too impressed by this one. Fair enough. I think this skit is genius because it isn't about slavery. This skit is about human nature and using slavery as the exaggeration in the joke was an amazing idea.
Amazing? I dunno. I think the vanity vs. slavery is a clever juxtaposition. But it also feels like the kind of joke my 60 yr old uncle might laugh too hard and too long at, and I'd have to wonder why he actually thought it was *that* funny.
I think this sketch went over a lot of people's heads. When Key & Peele first started up, their "blackness" was seemingly in question. I know Aries Spears, who worked with them on MadTV, in particular used to speak about how they were mixed race and not really relatable to the black community. I feel like this sketch was in response to that sentiment. The punchline being that even in the time of slavery, they wouldn't be black enough for the slave traders.
Why is it that you need to flip the video and make it very transparent? I've seen other reaction vids who have the whole thing unchanged and they dont get any strikes either.

Hi! I love your reactions to things! I was maybe going to suggest a youtuber and a group of his videos maybe! I think you would find them very interesting, the youtuber is Ryan Higa or username nigahiga! I think it would be fun seeing you react to his Skitzo series! Or maybe his video about having ADHD! It could bring awareness to some, but also they are very fun videos to watch! I think my favorites of his skitzo series are Morning Routine and Nose Scar! Either way though, keep up with the videos! And if this doesnt quite make the cut, definitely watch them on some your own time, Ryan is awesome!

I"ve never seen anyone react to that video and take it so literally and seriously. Of course they're making humor out of something horrible that isn't funny, but that's what makes it funny that it's so outrageous, but that seemed to be lost on MrLboyd.
Aries Spears got super butt hurt at Key and Peele about this sketch... he didn't get it. The crux of the humor in this sketch is about the hubris of ego in any situation. They go from planning an uprising against the whites, to begging for acceptance in about two minutes simpy for feeling slighted. The slave auction block was simply the most absurd place to manifest this concept, which made it absolutely perfect.
Mr. Boyd, I think you need to do a couple of things in the future to insure that your videos meet with a positive response from your viewers! Number One, I think you need to check your EGO “at the door”! You come across as HAUGHTY AND SOMEWHAT ALOOF in addition to ARROGANT! Number Two, refrain from stopping the video constantly as a result of your comments and facial expressions! Just let the video play out and then comment to your heart’s content! Just my opinion!

I saw more as a metaphor for the difficulties of getting a job and how jobs in the US are likened to slavery. Like US workers are slave to the system.
