ha, the props you can give Shickele have no end :) such broad knowledge of performance on every level is necessary to parody it so well.
Thanks for all the laughs ❤
Sigh, the happy hours I spent in Baden Baden Baden absorbing PDQ Bach! Actually I actually was treated to a whole evening of Peter S. many years agol My ribs are still sore from laughing. Wonderful!
I was crying listening to this. So awesome.
"It only had a range of about a minor third, but that was all PDQ Bach could handle."
I think P.D.Q Bach is an underrated composer way ahead of his time. His contributions to music are only rivaled by that of Spinal Tap centuries later. But really, he came first.
I can't believe they never acknowledged P.D.Q Bach! His music was awesome! :D Good Job Peter for finally promoting him!!! :D
So awesome
The older I get, the better PDQ's music sounds. Perhaps it has something to do with hearing loss and alcohol consumption.
One of my favourite compositions of PDQ Bach is "Tuba MitRum", but it causes a massive hangover again...
haha! Totally awesome!
Still makes me laugh
Hilarious! "The charming German town of Baden-Baden-Baden." Thanks!
"Left-handed sewer flute," LOL.
of course. he wrote the music, actually. PDQ stands for Pretty Damn Quiet. :)
"Okay, let's get through the whole first measure in one take."
Well...Don't forget the Baden Baden Baden Baden-hoff
:D
Baden-Baden-Baden!!! :D
"...which he spent in the charming Southern German Town of Baden Baden Baden..."
:)
It's Baden Baden, actually. But with such a name one can get confused counting, I guess ;)
Which, creating the conditions for another epic hangover, PDQ might have done. At least, he was ahead of his time, spending his remaining years in a city of baths. He may have been the cleanest plagiarist of all.
You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to get a wire music stand and a bassoon bocal and make some music.
PDQ may have a bad hangover, but he still nailed the fat chicks!
Bull Puckey !
Pretty sure he did that on purpose; Vein am Rhein is definitely a made-up city, so I'd assume Baden Baden Baden is a joke name based on Baden Baden.
wein am rhine... which translates to wine on the rhine lol :)
Perhaps an actual tuba player would have been preferable.
Oh no, why waste such drivel on a musician who actually knows the worth of this composer?
