Another great life lesson on how the world really works, Rabbi Lapin. I wish I was fortunate enough to discover your valuable and insightful wisdom, intelligence and knowledge many moons ago. Better late than never. With that being said, would you be interested in devoting a Friday podcast to expounding upon the concept of focusing on talking about ideas, things and people in a precise and particular manner? I recall you briefly speaking about being careful when speaking about people whether being in a positive or negative fashion in a previous episode. -a humble and grateful listener.
Absolutely brilliant suggestion. I read Rabbi Lapin's book - Thou Shalt Prosper. I think it was in the book that he explained the dynamics between David and Mephibosheth. Lies said about the latter, had resulted in his gift/inheritance being split up despite the truth coming out before the gift being given. Rabbi Lapin was expounding on the effect of listening to gossio or lies about people. It has impacted me. Looking forward to @Rabbi Daniel Lapin doing this episode.
My family must be an anomaly. My parents had me in high school, divorced when I was 16. My brother moved in wi5 me his senior year and my sister lived through hell with my mom and her new husband. My sister now owns 3 businesses. My brother is a partner with PWC and while I’ve been raising 2 kids alone, I’ve successfully made money in everything I’ve done and just starting a new business again. One thing I can say, we were all raised in the country and family had farms. We learned to work hard from our youth.
Teaching your children values from the earliest age is one of the kindest things you can ever do for them. Clearly you gained in this way. Much success! Cordially ~ RDL
