One of the best written songs of all time. A story told in lyrics and performed in real country style by a great storyteller. 😎 Lots of young people need to listen to these lyrics without their phone in their face.
I’ve been fortunate to see Jamey Johnson perform live in concert a few times, and he is simply awesome! He is a great songwriter and singer, as this song “In Color” proves. It’s one of the best songs ever crafted, and one of my favorite songs ever!!
In Color & North of Richmond are by far The Greatest Songs Ever Wrote. I moved to Nashville in 1967 at 2 yrs. old for the sole purpose of my family being able to go to the Grand Ole Opry anytime, & we did. Old school country music is so incredible. Thank you to All Country Music Stars. We love you very much. God bless you all.
Alot of people don't know or realize, but at the original Opry House, the individual acts were kept top secret every night. That made it so much more interesting, you never knew who was going to be there til they came on stage to perform & at the new Opry House also for a few years til they changed to public scheduling. Thank you Grand Ole Opry, you bring a lot of joy to people.
At the beginning, practically acapella......pure silence in the entire place. Everyone wanting to hear every single note and feel it just the same. Pure talent there, Mr Johnson.
Absolute Beautiful song Jamey, makes me very proud to be an American and very much to appreciate all those who have served this great nation. This song makes me think of both my Grandfathers that fought in WW2 and how proud we are of all their hardships, if we only knew what it was like being there, this country deserves a lot better than we are giving it right now.
One of the best singing right here sounds so good to hear him live he’s got that voice that others don’t.cause most singers seem to have to try to hard to sing were it comes so naturally to JJ..love you music keep it up I have every album of yours..
I was at the Grand Ole Opry on March 19, 2022 when Bill Anderson invited Jamey Johnson to join the Grand Ole Opry. It was a very moving moment for everyone there, especially Jamey. He was asked to then sing a song and Bill Anderson requested “In Color”. What a memory!! Congratulations Jamey.
If anyone deserves to be in that circle, it’s Jamey, I’ve seen him five times and would drive across the country just to see him again. No other words than BADASS could describe this man!
Me too. I am an Army veteran and my maternal Grandfather was a Navy vet of WWII, fought in the south pacific on a destroyer as an engine mechanic. Miss him so much. Today would have been his 103rd birthday. The things I would love to talk to him about....
I’m a newish grandparent and I never thought about how I’d be remembered by the kids/grandkids until the grandkids came along. This song brings back good memories for me of my grandparents. Hope ours have fond memories of us after we’re gone.
i played this song for my mom’s service i was 21 when she wrote this song on a piece of paper i am now 63 i still have it she passed 3 years ago a. beautiful song after all those years i still have it love you miss you so much
He is so much a Part of Traditional Country Southern Country..... He is one of Last of those, who Represent what Country used to be....... Reminds me of Bob Segar.... Manhattan.... Just everyone Lost in the Day, the Emotion, in their Own Loss.......Everyone knows where they were on the Day of the Manhattan Tragedy.....
I always cry, as this 100% describes my grandfather's life and him and I had so many conversations that NO ONE in our family knows about including details of his life.
When the WINTER comes, the Snow Flies & life returns to black & white I'll Sit back & reflect on THIS song that I First heard in the SUMMER of 2023. " You should've seen it in color " ❤
@@bennytommy8642 I'm Debra. Was in Nashville in 2017? Drove through and stopped by the Opry with my friend Kate. It was hopping that evening...on our way to a family reunion in Branson! She and I had gone on the first Jesus Freak cruise, we bought a purple 💜 convertible and drove from Miami! Woohoo 🖐️🎉 some people say it was Thelma and Louise style but we made it happen! God is good 👍
I just can't say enough about solid country musicians. It's time they get the respect for amazing song writing and performances they deserve!!! There are some unbelievably talented people in this genre!
I remember the first time I heard this song. I tried to tell my friends about it the next day, but I never heard the song again. Flash forward 10 or more years and the song was spreading like wildfire.

I love this song and Jamie belongs at the Opry. He continues a fine tradition. as an amateur photographer I always looked at black and white photos and wondered about the real moment they were taken in. This song touched me very deeply the first time I heard it. Still does.

There ain't anyone who deserves to be a Opry member. The leader of the pack of the last true country music artist.
I am envious, I would have loved to be there.
Pitch perfect.
I would have loved to see it in colour.
I'm glad Bill chose In Color, but some people don't know that Bill helped Jamey write " Give it Away" for George Strait
