Seeing the Psyduck hug her after she called him yellow after almost saying Pikachu is so darn cute!
Pokemon are sentient or near sentient (it's hard to tell sometimes), but they understand complex ideas and respond favorably to being talked about. Psyduck has always been a comic relief, so it probably feels good for him to be remembered and talked about.
I love this show already it just feels warm and cozy.
@@Keemperor40KWell, sentient means they have feelings and all animals are sentient. What you likely mean which is sapient, meaning intelligent and is harder to quantify. But I would say Pokemon (for the most part) are like some of the smarter animals which usually equate to a small human child. Many animals can be taught words to follow commands and can be trained to do tasks, Pokemon moreso.
@@dirrdevil pokemon vary in intelligence, but they are all at least smarter then some of the smartest animals in the world because they can clearly communicate to their trainers with body language and 100% understand their human language / do tasks for them without having to be trained for years unlike real animals. Some pokemon are even smarter then humans, and thats confirmed with pokedex entries. Its said that in the past humans and pokemon were considered equals
I love how the main Pokémon character in this series is Psyduck. Bout time he got the main spotlight.
EDIT: It seems a lot of people in the replies here don't understand the concept of a "main Pokemon character". Yes I know he was in the Indigo series as part of Misty's team, yes I know he was in the Detective Pikachu Movie. But in all those shows Psyduck was NOT the main pokemon character. Pikachu was.
It seems like it's because he fits the theme of the series which is helping Pokemon with their problems.
Psyduck had spotlight in the live action movie but I'm not complaining about more :D

The art style reminds me so much of those Pokemon cards with little clay figures in real places. I love the charm and cozy feeling of those cards. This series is going to be great.
The artist who does the cards her name is Yuka Morii. She's been doing the claymation style cards since around 2000.

I've loved pokemon since I was 6. I'm almost 30 now and when I saw this trailer I got the same excitement I had as a little girl. It's just so cute and the art is endearing. Looking forward to watching it with my nieces.

I like that Pokemon is going with the stop-motion clay approach, and I actually prefer the way they look in this series than in any other. I especially like that Psyduck is like the main characters pokemon, And I love the way that Pansear was designed in this.

Not only is this the same amazing stop motion art and cozy energy of Rilakkuma and Kaoru, not only is the music made from Mariya Takeuchi, which is mind blowing in and of itself given she's known for Plastic Love, it's also just Pokemon at it's pure best when it's about the relationships and connection between one another. This is the best Pokemon release made in a loooooooong while.

I have just finished this show. I've had a really, really, really, crappy week. And this cheered me right up.
I need more episodes of this. This is the Pokemon media i did not realise i wanted. Just Pokemon behaving like little puppies being wholesome. Like this sjow had me teary-eyed once per episode at least, but in the good 'i'm actually really happy and content right now' kind of way.
This is such a nice change of story, especially diversifying the main series. Unlike the Pokemon series we all are usually familiar with it. It's nice to see that Pokemon isn't just all about battling each other and more enjoying and relaxing alongside them. This series would be quite wholesome in my opinion.
Sun and Moon did the same thing, even though there was some battling and slapstick comedy. I'm glad they realized what made that series popular was the relaxing vacation vibe. Need more murder pets vibing not fighting
Edit: people seem to misunderstand what I meant. I mean that in the ANIME series the SUN AND MOON arc was more laid back and that's what made it different and popular.
@@eli3silverI don't want to point out that you're wrong, but that's not what made the series popular, a lot of the popularity has to do with the battles, and the mons newly introduced to those generations and games, and exploring what the games had to offer in terms of the mons themselves and figuring out how to fight with them. None of the games really feel like you're on a vacation, not to mention, this is the whole point of the franchise: to go on a journey around the region and just fighting other people and learning the ropes and gaining skill as you progress through the game

This trailer and the show feel so relaxing. Like I could go on vacation and watch this while on the plane or road. I haven't watched anything Pokémon since I was a child. I've only played Pokemon Go a few times. This is definitely something I want to watch. Props to the team behind this!
We need more fantasy and creature series like this. Whenever its about beast/fantasy creatures, worlds, and isekai animes and series they are mostly about battles and saving the world or going home, but we would also love to see more with a slice of life and cozy vibe but that its still interesting and has its little adventure and comedy spirit ( with a hint of personal growth and overcoming challenges in life)
This is "slice of life" meets pokemon. I love the stop-motion clay aesthetic. These pokemon are always battling. It's nice to see someone is thinking about pokemon needing some down time. Netflix is really building such a broad selection of shows. Keep it up!

The first teaser of this had given me a bit of an uncanny valley feeling but looking at this full trailer, it's really beautiful to see the love and hard work put into this. I genuinely hope that the creative risk of stop motion pays off

I love everything about this! From the stop motion to the wholesome vibes, to the legendary Mariya Takeuchi, to the unique take on Pokémon. I was worried when the Pokémon movies stopped coming out, but it looked like they allocated their budget for some unique animated projects and a refresh in the anime.

This looks SO good. Stop motion is a rare but beautiful artform. The only nitpick I have is the mouth movements, but everything else is amazing.
After Rilakkuma and Kaoru ended, I was in a deep miss of Japanese short stop motion shows. This was a gift sent from the Heavens!

I can see this becoming a game, if it hasn't already. Basically detective work-like mechanics of needing to figure out the needs of the Pokemon, then give them the appropriate treatment/service to make them happy. All the while, you build up a friendship meter as they frequent the area more often and help you unlock more difficult Pokemon to assist. You can use the traits/skills of the Pokemon you've become attached to with helping provide that difficult Pokemon the aid it wants. Treat your assisting Pokemon to things like spa treatment or food.

OMG 😭 This is one of the purest and most wholesome things to come out of this franchise
While this is very true.. it is indeed quite wholesome. However do you think the internet will allow it to stay that way? I mean the woman walking with Haru within the first 10 seconds of this trailer is already going to have the internet at large foaming at the mouth talking about Pixar mom etc. Not to mention that it's....well pokemon. Lol. So I say enjoy the wholesome goodness while it lasts. Because I give it a month maybe two before that woman is all over the place after the artists get their grubby mitts on her.
On the side note I haven't really watched Pokemon since the series first started back in the day. I believe I watched for the first 5 years and then kind of fell off. Although a lot of these new Pokemon that are coming out or that I've seen look incredibly stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a trash bag Pokemon. Either way this still looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and I will definitely give the show a shot.

Let alone have even a quarter of that woman's physique in the trailer and there is art galore of her. Mark my words there WILL be a surge of art of her.

Oh my goodness you don't understand how long I've been waiting for a slice of life/relaxed Pokémon series! I'd love to see the Pokémon universe branch out and see a side of it that isn't all battling, etc. And it's in stop-motion too. Hoping it's going to be good!

The Pokémon franchise truly feels invincible. It's not just Pikachu, typically considered the main character, but there are so many Pokémon characters that can take on a leading role. I'm excited about Psyduck's upcoming moments❤❤❤
