- This is a sentence I've been looking forward to saying: I AM BACK RUNNING! Having badly sprained my ankle just under a month ago, I can't quite believe I'm saying this so soon after the injury. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely still a long way to go till the ankle is fully recovered but I'm going to keep doing all the rehab exercises and I'm going to be back running stronger than ever before!
It's so good to be back running!

That implicate/ implement bit was funny 😂 Glad you're back out there. Having a great physio is a real bonus.
Thay was my favourite part to Mark, glad you like it 😊
Paul has definitely made a massive difference to my recovery. I wouldn't of been back this quick if it wasn't for his early treatment 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Back into running for adventure! Welcome back Lloyd.

Man you absolutely dominated that curb, it got humiliated! Great that you're back up and at it.
Cheers Thomas and yes I definitely showed it who's Boss! 😂😂😂

Cringing watching you run through that pitted field. So glad to see you smiling and running!!
Don't worry Kent I was being very careful 😉
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel as always its really appreciated 🙏
You showed the curb who the daddy is! I cant wait to get out again, just getting over Covid at the moment, sitting in my conservatory looking at the blue skies. I reckon my asthma pumps will get a good hammering when I am back out again.
Sorry to that Stuart, that's a nightmare! You go steady and get well soon mate 👍
Thanks for watching 😊
Well done Loyd. Great to see you back with super content. Quite like that R4A buff, hold my beer....

Great to see you back running 🏃🏻♂️👍 I’m still recovering from a partial meniscus removal surgery, taking a bit longer than I thought to heal.

Bet it feels great to be back running. Great to see more of the beautiful Cornish scenery too. Loved the slow motion run up the kerb with added "hero music". 😂🙌
It feels pretty good Stuart 😊
I have to face my fears mate 😂

Glad to see you running again. I like the look of that two-tone hydration vest.
Cheers Simon that's really appreciated 👍
The vest looks super cool doesn't it, they'll be a full review on the channel soon, thanks for watching 🙏
@Run4Adventure, I empathise with your recovery, having tripped last Saturday morning (tons of skin off due to a faceplant). Yours is serious when it requires this level of physio and recovery, but a worthy topic. We all have to restart after a fall!
Ouch that sounds painful Ben! I definitely did a proper job of it so I so leased to be back running so soon 😊
Thanks for watching the channel and I hope you recover soon 🙏
Hey Loyd! So glad that youre able to enjoy running again! :-) Thank you for sharing your recovery-process with us! As a PT-Student and Runner it has been really interesting and also very instructive for me! Stay strong! :-) Greetings from Switzerland
That's great Trojk 😊
Really glad you've enjoyed following the rehab of my ankle sprain and you've found it useful. It's really good to hear that because that's what I wanted to come from this 😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Super stoked you’re back running. 💪🏻

Really glad you enjoyed the rehab content with Paul and I hope you are fit and well! Thanks for watching and hopefully catch up soon 👍😊
That's an amazing comeback to think where you were so recently. Onwards and upwards!
Yeap I can't quite believe it myself Andrew!? 😲
I thought I'd be out a lot longer if I'm honest. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏

Good to see you back at it Loyd 💪
Cheers Lee, it's appreciated 👍

So awesome to see. 😎
Those trails look beautiful. Glad you showed that curb who's boss 💪
Thanks Helen that's really appreciated 😊
Great to have you back on the scene 💪
Thanks Soti 👊
Woo hoo! Super excited for you. You look tentative but that’s ok. Onwards and upwards from here!
Thanks very much it's really appreciated 🙏
Yeap still early days so going really steady but definitely onwards and upwards! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍😊
Hey Loyd, I'm glad so much you're back in our "runners' team" :) I mean to be back to our active lifestyle or active meditation, simply what we love the most - RUNNING. You're channel is great, love it. Always happy to go watching each topic and does not matter indeed if it's some shoe review or about your running, recovery if there's unfortunately some injury or what's up etc. Keep on what you're doing! All the best, my greeting from Slovakia :)
Thanks Peter that's really appreciated 👍
It's really good to be back running that's for sure and hopefully I can have a good spell of consistent running 🤞
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel as always Peter 🙏
Welcome back that was a quick recovery!
Cheers Morgan 👍
I know I thought I'd be out a lot longer! I think the rehab with Paul has made so much difference to recovery. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
First run for 5 weeks for me tonight after spraining my ankle at centre parcs then getting Covid 2 weeks ago. You’ve gave me hope 🤞🏻
Sorry to hear that Ryan, frustrating times! Glad the video has given you hope but go steady and listen to your body, best of luck 👍
Thanks for watching 🙏
Grats on being back. Loved the video dude.
Awesome Jat 👍
Thanks very much and thanks for watching the video, it's good to be back 🙏😊
Great news xx
Cheers Amanda it's really appreciated 😊
Thanks for watching 🙏
So glad to see this successful and early return! I actually ran for the first time today after straining my intercostals a month ago, horrid injury! Could not breathe. Looking forward to the upcoming reviews, I have had my eye on that Salomon pack. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks very much 👍
We'll done for getting back to running. I've pulled my intercostals several times playing cricket so I know how painful it is!! Thanks for watching and keep up the recovery 🙏
Congratulations, makes me smile how happy you are to get back to it, nice one mate 👌🏻
Thanks Matthew, that's very kind and really appreciated mate 🙏😊
Excellent news Loyd and great to see you on the trails again. My rehab is hopefully going the same way. A very easy paced 10km for with no quad pain, so fingers crossed!
And I STILL haven't used those Peregrine 10s yet!
Thanks Ian that's really appreciated! Really glad to hear that your recovery is going well 😊
Keep that recovery going and hopefully you'll get in those Peregrine 10's soon. Thanks for watching 🙏
That' s great news, so pleased for you, your absolute joy at being back running is so evident in the video
Thanks Debbie that's very kind 🙏
I'm glay my joy for running came across in the video and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 😊
Glad to hear you are on the mend and I look forward to more videos
Your route looked lovely and varied. Running through graveyards and churchyards always makes me feel odd though. I don't know why, it's not as if anyone is watching!
Know what you mean about Facing demons, I tripped over a bump in the road once, didn't see it coming, it was stumble then hello concrete.. Just cuts and bruises Luckily, so a few days later I was back to give it a piece of my mind😂
Thank you that's very kind 😊
I know what you mean about the Graveyard thing! Well done for going back and showing that bump who's Boss, it's the only way! 💪
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Welcome back Loyd. Well done for getting back to running so quickly. I have strained my groin at the weekend with 1 week before a 20 mile virtual event I have been training for since the start of the year. Gutted at the moment but I am focused on achieving my run on 21 March so fingers crossed the resistance band exercises and votorol will do the trick! 🙏🏻🤞🏻😩😂
Thanks very much 👍
Sorry to hear you're having issues! Go steady, keep up the recovery work and hopefully you'll be ok for your 20 miler. Remember, listening to your body is super important. Come the day if you don't feel right, don't break yourself and be out for months 👍
Thanks for watching and best of luck 🙏
@@Run4Adventure thank you for the reply and best wishes Loyd 👏🏻👍🏻
No problem 👍
Welcome back to the grand old grind we love:-)...You probably know sometimes a 2-3 week break is the best thing for all of us to allow ligaments tendons joints to heal and a mental break, I think the pro’s do the same at certain times of the year..
You're right, It's always good to have a break now and again John 😊
Obviously it's always harder when it's a forced break through injury but it's a break none the less 👍
I do feel that the fire has been lite and I raring to go! Thanks for the support it's really appreciated 🙏
Just stumbled across this... I'm now on week 17 of non running after a severe sprain of ankle- not even running- stepping off a deep step on a walk. So no serpent trail for me this year sadly. Hoping a few more weeks and I will start to run walk. Such an underestimated injury a sprain. So glad you got back on it. Im need to build some serious confidence. Cant remember what running is really!!! x
I'm so sorry to hear that Juliet, your right it is an underestimated injury. Are you working with a good sports physio on your rehab? If not, you really should be because it's so important when it comes to your recovery! You have to get the mobility and strength back and then it comes down to confidence. I really hope you get it sorted out and you're back running soon. Keep your head up and try and stay positive 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure thanks. Yeh had a physio and Osteopath. Getting there. I just ripped everything in there and was black and blue from toe to shin - just taking its time x
@@JMStallard1
It definitely takes time but keep doing those exercises and you'll get back. I did a similar thing 20 years ago playing cricket and was on crutches for 8 weeks. I was young and stupid at the time and I did very little rehab on my ankle and I'm paying the price for it now. Rehab, rehab, rehab 🏃♀️💪
What a remarkable come back only after 3weeks. Well done!! Keep going mate! 💪
Thanks very much 👍
There's still a way to go but it's great to be back to a bit of steady running! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Great to see you are back Loyd 😄👍I hope your recovery goes smoothly from here on in 🤞
That's very kind Ben, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated
🙏😊
Know that feeling !’ Ez does it ... 👍
Yeap it's a good feeling isn't it James. I know there's still a long way to go so I'm taking it steady, onwards and upwards 🏃♂️💪
Thanks for watching 🙏
Sad days are behind you. 🤪
Happy days await you, my friend.😃
Slowly you will become stronger than before 💪...
and even a little bit older... 🤣
Thanks that's really appreciated 👍
Let's hope I can get a good spell of consistent running under my belt!
Thanks also for reminding me about the older bit, it's something I'm always trying to forget about 😂
Thanks for watching 🙏
Great recovery work!
Thanks Simon, it's good to be back running 🏃♂️😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
Great to see you back running Loyd, awesome video. Looking forward to following your running adventures this year.
Thanks Jasper, that's very kind 🙏
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 😊
Great to see you back out running! I know how you feel - I'm currently in a boot follow a severe ankle sprain two week ago.
Oh no Aaron! You must have do a proper job of it if you're in a boot 😔
Really sorry to hear this, hope you get recovered soon 🙏
That looks like Hayle, where we run Atlantic Coast Challenge from, and return to base on day 2. Glad you are back again
Thanks Paul 👍
Yeap you're right well spotted, you would have run through Hayle in the ACC 😊
@@Run4Adventure - done it the last 3 years. Never noticed that nasty kerb before. Was focused on last few miles on day 2 back to hq in Hayle and the glorious 3rd day down to Lands End. Beautiful place to run
It sure is an amazing place to run Paul! I'm very lucky 👍
Good to see you running and enjoying running 👍 Keep us informed on the rehab stuff you do and how the runs go with regards to building back up too if you can.
Thanks Peter that's really appreciated 👍
Yeap we'll try and bring you guys as much of the rehab process as possible. There's going to be some more content with Paul Coker in the future to 😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
I know how you feel, my first run today after a low grade calf tear. I was only allowed to do 10 x 1min run/1 min walk.......but it was the best 20 minutes since the calf went back at the start of February. Glad to have you back at it .
Thanks Nick, really glad you're back running to! 👏👏👏
It's amazing how when we have something taken away from us that we love doing, when we get it back even a short, slow run is fantastic 😊
Onwards and upwards mate, thanks for watching 🙏
Love it! Keep it coming!
Cheers Jung 👍
Thanks for watching and all the support you've given the channel it's appreciated mate 🙏
Great job!!
Thanks Jeff, really appreciated! It's great to be back running 🏃♂️😊
Great vid! Keep up the great content.🇦🇺
Thanks very much and will do 👍
Awesome video and welcome back, but do you recommend the "runners knot" because I realized you were not using it?
Ithanks very much 👍
I'm not a fan of it to be honest, I find it to restricting and it can aggravate the top of my foot. I personally think if you can lock your shoes down without it then don't do it 👍
I know some runners have very skinny ankles and the runners knot is the only way they can get that lock down in their shoes. I also think a lot of runners use it because they're not in the right shoe for their foot shape.
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
How you doing now after the injury? I’ve noticed you have only been focusing on product reviews, but miss your enthusiastic running videos! Why are your plans for races this year? Stay safe dude!
It's getting there thanks 👍
Still not 100% and there is still a little bit of swelling to get rid of. There actually a running video just about to go up on the channel where I talk about racing 😊
I'm hoping to do the Serpent trail 50k and if we can travel by then I've got a place in the TDS at UTMB 🏃♂️⛰️
What about you?
@@Run4Adventure Glad to hear you're on the mend nonetheless. TDS! The dream race! Sounds good. I'm focussing on 100 milers this year. Just completed the Thames Path 100 and have SDW100 and Cotswold Century coming up. Have a watch of my TP100 experience if you fancy it!
Really glad to see that you're back. Such a great feeling when you manage to recover, and I'm sure you'll stay sensible for the time being to make sure it continues to improve!
Can I ask why you've never reviewed the Xodus 10 given your love of the Peregrine's? I've heard rumours of Xodus 11 next month, I'd love to see a review on one of them if so! It seems like the perfect UK long-distance road to trail shoe on paper.
Thanks very much 🙏
It's the weight of the Xodus that's always put me off 🤔
You're right there is an Xodus 11 on its way and I will be testing and reviewing the shoe on the channel.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
@@Run4Adventure thanks for taking the time to reply to everyone. I know what you mean about the weight. Although anything will be full of mud and water this time of year so I try to see past that 😂
Awesome! Tempted to grab a pair on release but I think I'll await your opinion. The 10 got so little exposure online, it's impossible to find anything more than marketing blurb for it!
Yay. 1st run back. Great news. Chuffed for you! 👍🙌
Thanks Allison, it's great to be back and thanks for watching 🙏
Lloyd is back.
It's great to be back, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Welcome back! But you never really left ... the rehab series was very good; but don't do it again!
It's good to be back 👍
Really glad you enjoyed the rehab process on the channel but I'll definitely try not to do it again 😊
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙏
Howling at the Siri word definition part 😂😂
Glad you liked it! It was my favourite bit to 😂
Thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Well done loyd, seen your progress on Strava, good to see you on there again, regarding the Peregrine 11, can they handle a bit of road work back and forth to the trails and could you contemplate wearing them for a 50km +? Have a good day
Thanks Matt 👍
Yeap the Peregrine is fine crossing over from road to trail and as far as 50k, no problem at all 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Amazing. I am glad you are better. I just had a similar injury. What stretches are you doing to be able to run so well after 1 mile of walking.
Sorry to hear that! There’s a whole series on the channel that follows me from the day after the injury, all the way up to me running again. In the videos we go through a lot of the exercises i did in my recovery. Hope this helps and best of luck with your injury 👍
Booom chuffed your back on it pal 👍
Cheers Sean, really appreciated mate 🙏😊
Listening to Queen earlier and "I want to break free" came on, not sure why but got the image of Loyd as Freddie during his rehab, being stuck and not able to run :P
Love this Jonathan! Maybe an idea for a future video 😂😂
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏
@@Run4Adventure please god, don't
Great seeing you back in action! Supernailed the curb like a boss! And those Peregrine 11s look dope! I have the Peregrine 10 ST which also look awesome, but the run doesn't feel good at all most of the time.
BTW - how does it feel running thru a cemetery like in 9:19? I always avoid the cemetery and usually feeling something "beyond" the running paletter of feelings (no, I'm not too spiritual hahah)... just wondering...
Thanks Vlad that's really appreciated! It's good to be back👍
I really don't know why Saucony make the ST version of the Peregrine. I personally feel it doesn't run anywhere near as good as the standard Peregrine. Also the standard Peregrine has great levels of grip so I don't think it's needed!
I know what you mean about graveyards, it's not to bad in the day light. I once did a 100 mile race and half way through the race at 3am I found myself in the middle of this proper greepy graveyard in the middle of nowhere!! 😱
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Great video
Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Alright!
Cheers Earl 👍
The beginning emoji had me dying! Hahaha
Really glad you liked it Christopher, it kept making me laugh when we edited the video 😂
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Welcome back! You showed that curb who's the boss 😂
Cheers Fabio 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
Just incase you missed it....its his first run back and he is really excited 😆🤣
Was it that obvious!? 😂
Thanks for watching 🙏
Could you review bthe boot buddy (or similar tools / hacks)? Thinking big getting one as I live in a flat and don't want to bring dirty shoes in. Being able to wash them outside before coming home would be a good option for trail runs / XC.
The boot buddies are great I use to have one for my football boots 👍
Not sure I could do a review on one though it's literally a small bottle with a brush on the end 😊
Definitely worth getting one to clean your shoes. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's really appreciated 🙏
How bad did you sprain it? I had a run in with a curb/rock about 4 days ago..my ankle is still sore but I need to get back to stacking miles..
There's actually a full video series on the channel following my recovery and it start the day after I sprained my ankle 👍
It was classed as a grade 3 ankle sprain, so pretty bad. It was heavily swollen and bruised for a good couple of weeks after the accident and there was no way I could even think about running! 😕
Yeeee Haw !!
Yeee Haw indeed Paul! 😁
So good to be back and the reason for that is because of all the great treatment and advice I've got from yourself! Thanks for all your help with my recovery 🙏
I am currently sidelined with a medial ankle sprain. walking is literally so painful and its been like this for over a week now. :((
Sorry to hear that Luke! 😔
Have you been to see a sports physio yet? If you haven't I'd definitely recommend it, it can really speed up the whole recovery process 👍 Hope you get back on your feet soon and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
@Run4Adventure update: I had an MRI at work (I work in a Radiology dept) I got a fracture through the base of my tibia. I had a feeling it was something more than a sprain. It was getting worse rather than getting better.
The worst possible news 😣
@@lukecotter169 So sorry Luke but it's good that you've got to the bottom of the issue. Make sure you do all your physio so you come back stronger than ever. Head up mate, you'll be back running in no time and best of luck with your recovery 🙏😊
Mind them rabbit holes.looking at the camera
Sure will Alan! 😂
I was being very very careful, don't worry. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Loyd, you did well not to pick up a faceplant and its scabs, which means you don't need a face covering for the vids! 🤥
No faceplant but I did smash up my knee, hip and elbow in the process! 😔
