How do you know how much cash to bring?? Tips for a good booth display?? How do you decide which markets to go to? You mentioned that some products do better in person than online & im curious abt that too :-)
would loveee to know what your art market vibe is socially- like do you let people browse before saying hi or ignore them sometimes or always engage or match people’s energy? aka how do you sell things if you’re kinda introverted
I'd love to see a video about how you got into the art market life- I'm an artist who feels super intimidated by trying to make money thru selling what I make and I'd love to hear ur experiences
The things you can't work out where they go , are for clipping a cover over hanging items like a sheet over the rack with hangers on & the clips over top round bar on top of sheet ( to keep clothing or whatever is on rack clean in moving process or from dust)
My favorite food truck works my local farmer's market, as does a local farm that raises alpaca for fiber that they make into goods. They bring the alpacas to the market, too.
i was so inspired by your art-making in this video, that i continued on a crochet project i hadn‘t touched in a month.. thank you for the motivation 🩷💛🧡
Currently going through a breakup & I’m so glad I found you! Your vlogs, your art and your softness inspire me and make me want to move on ❤️🩹 thank you, keep on making vlogs!
I actually love seeing the progress of your market stall!! it gives me a little hope to one day go do one myself because I don’t do a lot of batch art so I was always nervous or unsure how. Love your work!!
I mostly go to my local farmers market for fresh eggs, home grown produce, sourdough bread, baked goods, and just to see what's all there. I often times end up purchasing hand beaded jewelry from a woman that beads right at the market, as well as necklaces/bolo ties from an old rock hound. when it comes to artists booths, I tend to buy small bc I want to have enough money to visit all the other booths. I would have been all over those magnets and shirts!
A local honey farm recently started making some bourbon barrel aged orange blossom honey and it's the best honey I've ever tasted. I've already bought two little jars from them. Great on literally everything.
favorite thing i bought at our local farmer's market: vegan tamales (from the woman who makes them): corn flour, swiss chard, sweet potato, mushroom, spices. extremely delicious! the t-shirts you dyed and block-printed are fabulous. and i bet you sold some of your beautiful watercolor figure paintings...
Ahh I love this video! It’s so chill and relatable how you share your life as an artist, and run us through your plan of the day. I loved seeing you prepare for markets - I ran a tiny cookie company in Beijing, and the way I used to prepare for markets was…chaotic haha🙈thanks for sharing your life
The weird little things you didn't know what to do with for your rack are clips for that top piece when its folded up. Screw them to the base so that when you break the rack you can clip the top rod in to them...idk if that made sense haha I have that rack as well :)
Haven’t been to an art/farmers market or in ages but I’m sure the last time I went I bought jewelry and snacks. I absolutely love how these stamped shirts turned out! The designs you made are stunning. It reminds me of how fun my high school printmaking class was…hmmmm, I might need to go get some supplies and make some stamps☺️
I really, really enjoy your videos! And would love to see one on how you got into farmers markets! Also, it's really nice to see you not only doing prints, but many different things, it makes me want to try out new stuff, too :)
Just seen you on Kelsey's discord, your style is amazing and your house looks sooooo good for an artist! It's like a multifunctional living area, in love!!
I Love this! We did something similar where we live out. This video actually gave us inspiration and hope that we can still become successful, thanks so much for this video.
This video was fun to watch! I’ve been weirdly recording myself each week on Friday just telling myself where I am at with my art and process and I find it so useful- like a video journal. I definitely related when you said it felt like the camera was your boss haha I think it’s such a useful practice and it’s always fun to see what you’re up to. Market set-up looks amazing!
oooh yay I'm excited to try! I've used golden's acrylics before and they're really nice but I've also been using student grade paints for ever lol- gotta do what you gotta do!
My sentence would’ve ended at “because”, when saying why you spent $300 at blick… 😂. Lol. It’s never an inexpensive trip there. Thanks for sharing another day/week with us.
Always gotta have that Paynes Grey in any color set:D But yeah that looks like a solid color palette to get almost any color. Didn't see a cool yellow in there? Might give you a wider array of to mix greens especially for foliage. I think I have a Vanadium Yellow in my pallette & it helps get those neon or sun lit greens. Just a thought. Enjoy the new supplies. There aren't any thrift stores sadly in my part of the world now. Miss those good finds.
I know this video is kinda old (and maybe you answered this question in another video oops) but I'm really enjoying watching your backlog of content and I'm wondering, do you ever put the one-of-a-kind print shirts online, or are those 100% for markets? Would love to cop one in your art style!
Hiii! Thanks for going through the backlog! I don't really sell these printed shirts anymore, it wasn't that sustainable with all my other projects, but thank you!!
If I go to the one farmers market in my city, I buy some artisan bread. 😂 I have been an art vendor for decades and talking to people is always the number one drainer. Try making some art while your vending and have a second person to interact for you sometimes. ❤
My social battery no longer holds a charge. And I'm not really mad about it. Thanks for the video, your creativity is inspiring! What kind of ink do you use for the shirts? I might just try to do something with some of my own shirts for fun. :)
I'm curious to know your experience with priming canvas -- I'm interested in buying raw canvas but I've read that it's very expensive to prime it yourself...but maybe it depends on the type of canvas.
I think you two and I maybe think a little alike. While watching you and your hubby eat pizza, after hearing him say he was going to move some of your merch to the car for you, I did my own little thumbs-up just before you each did yours. I'm going to borrow your term "social battery". That describes my seriously limited schmoozing capacity to a T. Also, this is the most I've ever thought of, "Hmm. One of those might look pretty good on our fridge," referring to the salmon magnets of course. Is that an ongoing thing, or are they part of a limited edition?
If I were to make a video all about art markets what questions do you have??? LET ME KNOW
How do you know how much cash to bring?? Tips for a good booth display?? How do you decide which markets to go to? You mentioned that some products do better in person than online & im curious abt that too :-)
How much in advance do you prep? Also curious what you've learned sells better in person vs online! Love your vids :)
how you find events to apply to!
How much stock do you need to bring? How do you price your stuff fairly? how can you set up a stall on a budget? Where do you get your work printed?
would loveee to know what your art market vibe is socially- like do you let people browse before saying hi or ignore them sometimes or always engage or match people’s energy? aka how do you sell things if you’re kinda introverted
Norah launching off the stool sent me 😂
hahah right? so speedy
I'd love to see a video about how you got into the art market life- I'm an artist who feels super intimidated by trying to make money thru selling what I make and I'd love to hear ur experiences
noted, thank you!!
I love the idea of thrifting t-shirts and printing on them, such a good idea!
thank you!
Blick always makes my wallet cry but my soul feel happy.
Paynes Grey is underrated and I love it. Paynes Grey and Prussian Blue is *chef's kiss*
hahah same! Looooove a good rich blue
Those shirts and magnets are so cuteeeee!
Thanks Kelseyyy!!
The things you can't work out where they go , are for clipping a cover over hanging items like a sheet over the rack with hangers on & the clips over top round bar on top of sheet ( to keep clothing or whatever is on rack clean in moving process or from dust)
oooooh! Thank you!
love that you did so well at the farmers market, though i deeply relate to a short fused social battery
Thank you! short fused is definitely the right way to put it haha
My favorite food truck works my local farmer's market, as does a local farm that raises alpaca for fiber that they make into goods. They bring the alpacas to the market, too.
fave farmers market hauls: local honey, bread, flowers, and hand made wash cloths (cant resist 'em)
i was so inspired by your art-making in this video, that i continued on a crochet project i hadn‘t touched in a month.. thank you for the motivation 🩷💛🧡
omg I love that so much, thank YOU!
Currently going through a breakup & I’m so glad I found you! Your vlogs, your art and your softness inspire me and make me want to move on ❤️🩹 thank you, keep on making vlogs!
I haven't been to a farmer's market in forever. I love that runner you picked up at Goodwill. I think it's time to go thrifting...
I love the blonde highlights underneath your fringe, it's such a great idea and looks fab 😊
thank you so much!
ur arts are so 🤌🤌🤌 hope the algorithm bring people more
listen to them algorithm!! thank you!!
Love the t-shirts, great job!
thank you!!

your voice is so soothing!
aw thank you!
A local honey farm recently started making some bourbon barrel aged orange blossom honey and it's the best honey I've ever tasted. I've already bought two little jars from them. Great on literally everything.
Ooooh that sound so good! Love local honey!
I love watching your videos, it's a nice escape for me! Summer is taking forever, school doesn't start until the 5th! Hope you are well, take care! ❤

At our local farmers market i recently purchased a glutenfree financier with marinated figs and cream cheese, delicious!
ooooh that sounds so good!
favorite thing i bought at our local farmer's market: vegan tamales (from the woman who makes them): corn flour, swiss chard, sweet potato, mushroom, spices. extremely delicious! the t-shirts you dyed and block-printed are fabulous. and i bet you sold some of your beautiful watercolor figure paintings...
oooooh tamales are so good, that sounds delicous! And yes the watercolor paintings did well!
I’ve done the Farmers’ Market as a farmer 😅 It was so cool to see how you prepare as a maker/creative/artist!!
Ahh I love this video! It’s so chill and relatable how you share your life as an artist, and run us through your plan of the day. I loved seeing you prepare for markets - I ran a tiny cookie company in Beijing, and the way I used to prepare for markets was…chaotic haha🙈thanks for sharing your life
aw I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you!!
Loved seeing this week in the artist life video. Super cool!
thank you so much!
Fresh flowers are my favorite farmer's market purchase *
oooh I love fresh flowers!
The weird little things you didn't know what to do with for your rack are clips for that top piece when its folded up. Screw them to the base so that when you break the rack you can clip the top rod in to them...idk if that made sense haha
I have that rack as well :)
Someone clued me in to this at the market!Thank you though!! I was so confused haha
Thank you so much! You definitely should!! I loved printmaking in high school- so fun
Great market here in my town of Dunedin FL, The fresh local veggies are my fav……….

This was so fun~ Art markets seem to be stressful but ooh, this was such a laidback vibe☺💖
they definitely can be, thank you!!
Really enjoyed the video! Glad the farmers market went well, oddly enough, I have never been to one but I look forward to going one day soon x

I got some queso flavored popcorn last time I went to the farmers market
I'm excited to try them! That sounds so good!!
Farmers' market fav is grainy breads

I'd loved watching your video! my recent farmer's market purchase was a whole pan of purple yam cinnamon rolls 💜
Thank you! Omg that sounds so good! Have you tried the purple yam ice cream from Trader Joe’s? So good!
Just seen you on Kelsey's discord, your style is amazing and your house looks sooooo good for an artist! It's like a multifunctional living area, in love!!
thank you!! i love it :)
Wow the toolbox came out so pretty 😍
thank you! I'm so happy with it!
Cool video, I like your chill cozy style! 😊

I Love this! We did something similar where we live out. This video actually gave us inspiration and hope that we can still become successful, thanks so much for this video.

such a neat video!
Thank you!!
I love your videos!
Thank you so much!
I went to a flea market and bought a BUNCH of handmade earrings
That's awesome!
I'm just gonna go ahead and say, Yes Please, to your question on if we want to hear how you got started with markets!
haha thank you so much Chelsea!!
I would really love to try block printing on shirts! What materials do you use for that?
I use speedball fabric ink! I made a whole video about it here if you want to know more! ua-cam.com/video/JH5UdDhYJY4/v-deo.html
I know this video is kinda old (and maybe you answered this question in another video oops) but I'm really enjoying watching your backlog of content and I'm wondering, do you ever put the one-of-a-kind print shirts online, or are those 100% for markets? Would love to cop one in your art style!

I love your videos and seeing you grow your bz. do you mind sharing what type of paint you used for the t-shirts? Thank you so much in advance.
Thank you! I use speedball fabric ink
If I go to the one farmers market in my city, I buy some artisan bread. 😂 I have been an art vendor for decades and talking to people is always the number one drainer. Try making some art while your vending and have a second person to interact for you sometimes. ❤
oooooh I love bread. and sometimes I do try to draw or something which always helps!!
Hey! How do you go about packaging your prints and misprints for art markets?
I just put them in a clear sleeve with a cardboard backing!
My social battery no longer holds a charge. And I'm not really mad about it. Thanks for the video, your creativity is inspiring! What kind of ink do you use for the shirts? I might just try to do something with some of my own shirts for fun. :)
same, I've accepted I just need time in my art cave afterwards haha. Thank you! I used speedball fabric ink! I really like it
Thanks for the info! I'm def going to add the ink to my list of things to try. :)
I'm curious to know your experience with priming canvas -- I'm interested in buying raw canvas but I've read that it's very expensive to prime it yourself...but maybe it depends on the type of canvas.
I'm excited to give it a try! I think I will try painting on the unprimed canvas too!

hahaha I love that! Thank you so much! The magnets are kind of an ongoing thing but are handmade so they go pretty fast!
Selling out of something is a good problem to have 🙂
definitely! so grateful
👁️🪶👩🎤🪐🎨 NEW SUBBIE. love 💕 that you talk like we’re having a FaceTime rather than the basic youtuber repetitive words, gestures and claps. Lol 😂 🪐🐶😂
haha I love that! Welcome to the channel!
