I had a catastrophic anderson failure on field day. Traveled 10hrs to the Peace Arch park for Washington and Canada. No power. I learned to carry a little bit of everything.
As someone who runs ham, GMRS, and CB in their car, this stuff looks awesome!
Josh is king of finding cool stuff I didnt know I needed lol. I have no radios in my veh. because I did not want to go through the hassle of doing it the way we used to do it, and all the concerns that go with. This new stuff is awesome! Plug and play.

Thank you Josh ! This is great stuff to have ! Please do some more work with the Comet antenna analyzer .Also some go box builds or battery box builds with 12V power stuff will be great ! So much in 1 place now. Do a video on them cross needle Daiwa meters ,How to read them. Get one on the bench light it up and working. I see many great videos' with all the stuff they now have ! 73's
I second the go box build request. I’d like to build one for 2M/GMRS. We had a fire start close by recently and people in the area used GMRS to stay informed about the status. I want to create a go box to be able to stay connected if if happens again and we need to evac. A 50w gmrs radio with car roof antenna would be helpful in this terrain (Sierra foothills). I might also use 2m depending on the situation. Thanks, Josh!

I run the 2x4 with the spring and have beaten the hell out of it. It's still going strong.
I just purchases their wide band antenna and their mount. It was expensive but I just purchased a new to me 2021 Silverado and its to tall for the Diamond mag mount I have used for years. I am so impressed with the mount. So far the antenna is working ok as far as SWR good across the entire band. I have only made one simplex QSO. I think it was worth the money K8OCN
Unfortunately I cannot find the 115pc powerpole kit on their website.

I love the idea of the USB-c chargeable battery for the Anytone-878, but unfortunately the early one I bought have a critical flaw:
It’s missing the trigger resistor, so it doesn’t work with proper usb-c, only with a usb-a to usb-c cable.
Has that issue been fixed??

Blue Sea makes some good stuff. I like their SafetyHub150 and their MRBF Terminal Fuse Blocks.

@@HamRadioCrashCourse I got into them when building DIY solar power systems. They're big in the yacht world where you don't want to trust your floating home to random amazon no-name crap. Blue Sea, Ancor Wire, and Victron: For when you need it to work.

I bet the Comet Antennas will be more expensive. There high enough as it is.
Is there such a thing as a powerpole that can replace my cigarette lighter in my car? I'll wire it up to the battery for my 100w rig but I've yet to find one or else I'm searching with the wrong key words.
In other words, replace the entire cigarette lighter receptacle with a powerpole version in case people think I'm talking about something that plugs into the existing cigarette lighter receptacle.

@@HamRadioCrashCourse I've seen those and tried a few different ones but what I'm finding is that the spring loaded ground conductors have a very small contact area to the cigarette jack and even at 20W they heat up really fast because there are only 2 points of contact. My Yaesu 450D will restart itself with only 20W on AM mic key down because of the voltage drop that happens. Those adapters need 4 or 6 ground tabs to overcome that issue. But so far I've found no PowerPole cigarette jack replacement units anywhere. But thanks for the suggestion(s). I may have to eBay a replacement jack for my car and see if I can 3d print an insert.
