- I found out about this place through reading a Contemporary witness report about the time around May 1945. Lets see whats still left there!

Great finds there. I am also a digger, mainly first world war, but second world war is my next move. You really found some great German stuff there. Fantastic Metal Max

i could be wrong, but that wheel looks kinda like a boggy wheel (return wheel) off a tank or halftrack. there is also a battery connection

Yes!! That's also what I suspected, some of the words listed there are still used to this day when spelling words on the phone so you dont mishear it. Thanks a lot :)
Yes I was going to say the same. In English its called the NATO Phonectic Alphabet : Alpha Bravo Charlie Delta etc etc. Great finds and great video.
Yes, communication device housing, with the call signs, figured it's German since it has a 31 letter alphabet and German names (English has no Ch, or Sch, or O with the two dots (Odipus?), that we spell in English as Oedipus, and Caesar in English. What name is 'Quelle', 'Obel', 'Xanthippe', and 'Ypsilon'..? And what, I wonder, is the second letter (obscured in video) after A (nton), and before B(ertha)..?
the shell casing with the pink primer is a 20mm tracer round

The "dial" at @ 4:48 looks to me as if its a degree gauge for aiming some type of mounted weaponry to aid the operator to accuracy use the weapon.

Great finds. A 1940 manufactured gas mask: just think where that could have been carried, France, Balkans, Russia. Interesting mixture of ammunition. 7.92 Mauser rounds are expected but also what appear to be French label.
Yeah who knows where it has been. Would love to know. The area is quite untouched and has lots of good stuff, maybe I'll return soon
Ich weiß nicht obs schon beantwortet wurde, aber der Kasten mit den Namen und Buchstaben, war wahrscheinlich von einer tragbaren funkeinheit. Die Namen wurden zum Buchstabieren bei Funksprüchen benutzt, um Missverständnisse zu vermeiden

No It wast, I just turned on the lights and nothing else, then the gas indicator doesn't move

@@MetalMaxWW2 ja max hab selbst so 2 Batterien bis jetzt gefunden. Achso das mit der Aufschrift A bis Z ist ein Gehäuse von ein Feld Telefon. Lagen die so oben auf, auf der Oberfläche? Das eine davon wurde verbrannt man konnte Brand Spurn sehen. Ist wohl ein Auflösungs Platz der wehrmacht. Die haben viel Sachen zerstört das es nicht noch in Feindes Hand kommt. Kannst auch mit rechnen das da noch paar Sachen tiefer liegen. Versuch mal mit dem Makro Multi Kruser auf 5 kHz zu arbeiten.
Jap das lag alles so an der Oberfläche. Hab gelesen das die Truppen dort alles stehen und liegen gelassen haben um sich bei den Amerikanern zu ergeben. Ist auf jeden Fall eine vielversprechende Location!
Und danke für die Tipps mit dem Multi Kruzer, ich probiere es mal aus :)
Das Buch habe ich zu Weihnachten bekommen aber noch nicht angefangen ^^ ich lese auch so mal Artikel im Internet mit zeitzeugen berichten aus der Zeit in den lokalen Regionen, da findet sich mal eins schon die ein oder andere Stelle.
Kampfhandlungen waren bei mir auch keine, nur Rückzugs- und Auflösungsgebiete.

Das Phonetische Alphabet heisst es, das is ein Telefon für punkt zu punkt kommunizieren normaler weise. Und ich glaube die Solex Schraube ist für einen alten Solex Vergaser :) Sorry Deutsch ist nicht meine mutter sprache.

Eigentlich nicht. Solange man sie nicht bewegt passiert eigentlich nichts. Hab ich anfangs gemacht aber schnell damit aufgehört.

Wow, interesting finds. It would be great to know the whole history of what went on in this forest.
It's not documented at all, just one more of the places which witnessed the chaotic circumstances in the last days of the war... I'm going back there soon!

Hallo Grüsse aus Straßburg in Frankreich hast da eine crazy Stelle gefunden ist ja total irre das so viel gerade so auf der Oberfläsche liegt !!!! Bei uns im Wald oder in den Vosgesen liegen auch noch vielen Sachen aber da braucht man eine Such Genemigung die nur an manche Vereine gegeben werden sonst ist es ja strengstens verboten sowie Magnet Fischen.... Aber Daumen hoch mach so weiter !!!!

Ich frage nicht nach Ihren Standorten. Aber wie sucht / findet / entdeckt man Orte wie diesen? Ohne die Antwort zu geben Google haha! Tolle Fundstücke !!
Ich lese des öfteren alte Zeitzeugen Berichte aus meiner Umgebung oder Bücher die die letzten Kriegstage schildern. Dann geh ich den Infos nach und manchmal hat man eben Glück :)
