Hi Cole and Charisma I have a Question. I watch also Zack his Channel and I wondered why Zack has a leg bag for when he has to pee and you don't have it. Did you have had it too in the past???? And is that because of your operation with the botox??
I think it will definitely help! Often we, as health care practitioners, forget that our every day language is not every day language for everyone else :)
As someone in the medical space, specifically sports medicine world, this video is SO important. More people need to be educated on the differences, we can all be doing better to understand each other :) you guys did an awesome job of organizing the information and explaining it clearly with those examples!
You guys are such AWESOME ambassadors and educators, and you did this in such a positive and easy-to-understand manner! Thanks to all of your friends who helped, the demonstrations were so instructive. Love y’all!
Whenever you were speaking about the difference between Cole and Cruise, it made me realize just how amazing the body is...how crazy that a very slight difference in location has such an affect of function Thanks for educating and being great to your viewers!
As a software engineer I can tell you there is a lot that can be done for people with physical disability. Something as simple as a robotic hand that your actual hand can be attached to. Something to support your spine area that won't hurt you, etc.
This is great information!! My mother recently became a paraplegic and I can't wait to show her this video. Thank you for not only being a super cute couple but educational as well!!
"Hello, this Runett! I just love you guys! I'm a T-3 paraplegic 50 year female. I am enjoying your definition of all the the level of damage of the functionality of being a quadriplegic and paraplegic complete and incomplete and core and no core Great job!"
I love how you broke this down, and made the information so easy to understand. Unfortunately, I did not know that there was so much that went into the diagnoses of quadriplegia and paraplegia. With that being said, I’ve also never felt so entitled to tell another human being that they were wrong when I am not a trained professional AND never walked a day in the individual’s shoes. I am so sorry that you have to deal with the dark side of social media. Please continue to make more videos, because you are truly making a positive impact when it comes to increasing awareness on SCI, and the beauty of a healthy loving relationship. I love you both, and I pray for nothing but God’s absolute best for your lives!!!
so glad you clarified this im an incomplete quad and I walk etc I always ge people come up to me and say what happened to your leg im like nothing Im a quadriplegic there response how are you walking then, so frustrating awesome video as always
So glad I found this channel recently. I have Spina Bifida (but I have use of my legs) and I love to see that, even though you may have a spinal cord injury, you are still able to get on with your daily lives as if nothing really happened with not a lot of change. I was so lucky that my spinal cord injury was not as severe as others with spina bifida, although I still have some problems regarding organ function such as bowel and bladder/kidneys. Love the channel, keep up the great work!
Loved the sarcasm in the beginning. 🤣👊🏽......The fact that you guys even have to explain ....is mind blowing. People can be so insensitive. Like your team of doctors wouldn’t have to told you what you have. Like you just diagnosed yourself after your injury. Stay positive guys. 👊🏽👌🏽
My mom has been a complete paraplegic for 25 years now. She has no core whatsoever. Makes me happy to see videos like these because normal people don't know the daily struggle that these people go through. My mom seems happy to outsiders. But I see the pain, depression, anxiety, and different medications that she goes through. It's easy to say not to dwell on the issue and to look on the bright side. But in reality, no matter what, there's plenty of days that that person will fall into depression out of nowhere. But as long as the person can pull themselves out of it they will continue living their best life. My mom has raised four adult females all alone. And I think that makes her superwoman! Love this video 😘💋
This is really amazing and informative! My dad was actually paralyzed between L4 & L5, and he spent 6 months in rehabilitation relearning how to walk. 23 years later he's had a complete spinal fusion, and is still able to walk! Thank you guys for all you do. My favorite couple around
So glad you shined some light on these differences! Having Spina Bifida myself(L4-L5), i've spent my whole live explaining these differences to people. Your story continues to inspire me and keep me positive so thank you for that! Love y'all!
Informative and very interesting!...Most of your viewers, as myself never really knew any specifics of paralysis or the difference in a quad/paraplegic..complete/incomplete...We have been educated!....Thanks to you Cole, Charisma..and all the participants who contributed clips for this vlog...Great job!
I was surprised to see people being lifted rather then a hoist being used, I am a home carer and use various hoists depending on who I am visiting and their level of disability. Great informative video.
Cole and Charisma I believe you!Cole it is sweet that you explained. It doesn't make since for you to have made all that up.Nobody knows your body but you and what you went through. So proud of you guys keep smiling ,because that's what make me want to watch your channel more and more!💜😊My favorite UA-cam couple.
I tend to multi task; both physically and mentally. When said you were a quadriplegic, I filed it away in my brain as “data received”. I’ve never noticed the comments telling you you were a paraplegic. Very nice technical information to add to my “brain file”. Thank you. Continue to be awesome 😎
Thanks for explaining. I have spine arthritis, herniated disc, 2 back surgeries, SS and severe right foraminal stenosis. I have to use a rollator. I also have peripheral neuropathy which affects my balance. Also 2-level ACDF C4-5/5-6 with plate and screws. I use to be a medical transcriptionist and I had to give up my job that I loved so well after 34 years. It is hard to depend on others as they truly do not understand how hard it is to get around and do things you would like to do on your own but we need help. You two amaze me and Cole you are so lucky to have a strong person by your side like Charisma and your family and her family. You two make it work seemingly easy but I know it is not. Keep up the good public relations and stay strong.
Charisma, you are going to be an amazing OT! I work in an acute hospital as an OT and I have to work with folks who's injury is brand new (days old and often am the person to help process the injury with them). Your and Cole's dedication to education and overall support is so incredibly helpful beyond words. Thank you so much!
One of my late husband's was a T3 paraplegic, we had a blast. There's a downside of loving someone in a chair, the remarks, questions that are too personal. They didn't understand why. I never really see the chair. I only saw the love in his heart. I miss him daily
Hi Cole and Charisma, As someone who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, this was a very important video, and so informative. Thank you for educating people.
Omg thank you !! I follow many people mentioned and work as a caregiver for someone with a spinal cord injury, but don't ask her about it. Thank you for the education !!!
I love the sarcasm in the beginning lol! You guys are amazing and I love how quickly you've grown! Thank you for the awareness and info! If you want a nose I have a channel too! ;)
I'm an incomplete paraplegic and I'm so happy you did this video it helps out everyone, in the long run, to understand we are all unique in our injuries who share a common goal of being understood loyal subscribers keep on rolling with cole and charisma because you also show as well as teach
The good thing about you guys is that you all don't tell most of the stuff about you all but use your time to educate others of other people out there an how they go along their day to day errands no matter what the circumstances may be.
I have hemiplegia cerebral palsy. I am part-time wheelchair user. In May 2017, I graduated with bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance. 😀 I love you guys ❤️
Thank you! I have a daughter with spina bifida oculta who has had 3 major spinal surgeries for tethered cord....she can still walk...but sometimes with great pain and difficulty....she also has a neurogenic bladder and bowel. I just appreciate your education of people...who can be so insensitive of other people who are exactly like them.
Very very informative! My 7 year old daughter has Cerebral Palsy. She loves watching your videos because she sees Cole and thinks it’s awesome that he is in a wheelchair like her. Thanks for sharing your story and positivity!
I have mild cerebral palsy and I never knew I am part of the Quad squad. I do get the 'shakes' in my legs often. I just recently discovered your channel (3 days ago) and watching each video from the oldest to the newest. Team positive and CC squad.
I have learned so much from your videos. Until I started watching your channel I never knew the difference between a quad and a para. I just never thought about it. The examples were great.
Very informative video! most people associate quadriplegia with complete loss of function in both upper and lower body, but as you have clarified, it all depends on the degree and level of injury. Sadly In many developing countries (where I come from), many people with acquired disabilities especially those related to spinal cord injury are not exposed to the same kind of extensive rehabilitation programs because of lack of sophisticated/modern equipment such as the ones you have, resulting to rapid deterioration of their conditions (to put it mildly). Thank you for always showing us what is possible with intervention and I wish you both the very best!
Hey guys, I'm a first time watcher of your videos and I LOVE all of the info. I have been a c6/c7 Quad since 1989 and I have explained this same stuff for years. Great info and personalities. GREAT JOB !!!
Thank you for doing this video. My brother has cerebral palsy and can walk and ride a bike through the miracle of surgery. He can do things with his left hand but his right hand/wrist is like Cole’s in the way that he can’t open his hand. Watching your videos has made me want to further research his CP more after all these years.
You are both two very intelligent individuals. I'm glad that you both did your research surrounding the differences in the diagnoses. Too many people on the internet, UA-cam, Facebook, etc... tend to put everyone into the same category. This was extremely informative. Thank you!
This video helped me so much. I never quite understood to the extent of the differences. Thank you so much for making this video educating us and helping us be more understanding of what is going on with quads and Paras
I've been following you two for a while now! I just shared this video with my class before our spinal cord injury nursing exam, thanks for all the info!
Thank you for this, this is so informative.. and I am a paraplegic and some people do not understand incomplete, and complete. and what spasms are. the see your leg spasm and think you can move your legs and walk. I thank you for this video. And by the way , you guys are a sweet and awesome beautiful couple.. Love your compassion and drive and sense of humor. God bless you both, and continue to do what you are doing.
Thank you so much for this, it was very clarifying! I'm a naturopath and am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge base and gain a deeper understanding into the lives of others. When I do have a client one day who, for example, happens to be a Quadriplegic, I can now properly interpret not only their injury and amount of function, but also to understand what they may be overcoming/working with in their day-to-day lives. Thank you again, you guys are so awesome!!
Im an incomplete quadriplegic. It's hard for people to really understand this. My level is C2-C5, all those vertebrae where shattered so they used bone from my hips to make a new neck. Now 3 plates 11 screws later, I'm doing better, I'm able to walk with balance issues but I'm able to walk again. You remind me of my younger self. I know what you have gone thrive is hard, been there too died 6 times. But seeing your will to fight in this video, don't stop your therapy. Don't stop working out everyday. Every time you want to give up, you make yourself keep going regardless if you want to or not, you must push yourself. Don't give up, it's been 21 years since my accident. Never give up and watch at what can happen. Keep your mind the strongest! Good to meet you guys by the way. Take care....
Before I watch my funny hubby says when I make him watch your videos. Come on Cole, you are not a quad you are a paraplegic! He says while laughing. He says so when he is jealous of what ever you are doing (jealous in a fun way). He is just teasing. Now, let me watch the video. Edit: Great and informative video! Awesome! Thanks for sharing . I love you and your whole family.
Although I can't believe you guys are still explain quad vs para. I van really appreciate all the information/education you just gave us. You guys are the best at educating the public on SCI. Love you guys. 😘😘😘❤💜💙💚
Great Video Y’all. I’m an RN and I learned so much from your video. I’ll tell you that in our classes no one explained it like you guys. Very educational.
I’m more amazed that there are this many quads and paras with videos like these lol. It’s nice to see that they make them both for themselves and to teach people about them both. Even doctors studying can watch videos like these to learn easier than just reading about the differences.
“Was that good?” Yes! Thank you to everyone❤️ who contributed to this video. It was very informative!! I know an incomplete quadriplegic (from a spinal tumor) who can move everything but has no feeling from the neck down. Yet she runs a large horse rescue in FL. She’s amazing. You’d never know she can’t tell where her body is without looking. Like Cole, she didn’t let her spinal issue stop her from doing her heart’s mission.
Thanks Cole and Charisma for educating us on the difference, its greatly appreciatped, and now i have a wider and clearer idea of the difference. You guys are awsome, keep up the great work youguys are doing. 💋💖💞💋
Wow!!! quite informative. After discovering your channel I did a little research to become more aware about these types of injuries. However, the visual display you provided makes it easier to understand. I love you both more each day. 💝❤💕😚👏👏👏
Wow! This is very, very interesting information. Now, I can understand the difference between Quadriplegic and Paraplegic. My friends and family have the same similarities. Thank you for sharing! It's never too late to learn the new things in life. Much love from Arkansas! ❤
Awesome folks! Thank you for your amazing positivity, your hearts, knowledge, willingness and desire to educate/help others. Much Love from California!
This is a great educational video. (Without the test!) thanks for taking the time to explain things and thanks to the volunteers that helped show differences.
This was very educational for a lot of people. Awesome job you two and for everyone that took part of the video. I'm a paraplegic T-4/5 complete w/no core due to a car crash.
Awesome! Having watched a ton of your videos about fun times and staying positive, I find this video in a league of its own with all the different levels and types of injuries. As always thank you guys for the work you put out there for us to learn a bit more about the unknown. Love you guys and stay positive!!!
I knew you were a quad but I still found the video very interesting and informative. I can't believe people actually had the nerve to try to correct you on your diagnosis.
Super cute couple! My fiancé has a C5-C6 incomplete injury. We are always describing the difference in the term to people. Great descriptions, and I love the shout outs to all your friends. It’s always great to have references or people that can relate to our lives!
Thanks for watching!! Let us know if this better helps you understand the difference!!
Hi Cole and Charisma I have a Question. I watch also Zack his Channel and I wondered why Zack has a leg bag for when he has to pee and you don't have it. Did you have had it too in the past???? And is that because of your operation with the botox??
It definitely did. Very eye opening.

I have Cerebral Palsy.
I am an Advocate with Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago
I love how the internet wants to correct your diagnosis. Pretty sure you know you're a quadriplegic. I learned a lot today! Thank you! ❤️
yeah like a doctors, nurses and other health professionals who studied this stuff got his diagnosis wrong this whole time

Ikr I just learned something and it did spark something else, but still

Roll with Cole & Charisma definitely every injury is unique
Thanks for the video very edifying, I see handsome Cole,I don't see quadriplegic. Stay positive.
Hey everyone! I'm a para! I have Spina bifida! My paralysis is at T10-L1. I loved this video Cole and Charisma!
My bullet from where i was robbed and shot is at T10
@Brian i have spina bifida as well

I tend to multi task; both physically and mentally. When said you were a quadriplegic, I filed it away in my brain as “data received”. I’ve never noticed the comments telling you you were a paraplegic.
Very nice technical information to add to my “brain file”. Thank you. Continue to be awesome 😎
Thanks for explaining. I have spine arthritis, herniated disc, 2 back surgeries, SS and severe right foraminal stenosis. I have to use a rollator. Well put together video describing the difference, Cole!
Im currently a pre-nursing student and found this so interesting! I love your videos!
Very educational video, done with just enough humor. You’ve come a long way, Charisma and Cole!

OMG, I am so glad that you put this out. This has helped me to understand much better. Thank you so much!!!
