Alot of people and i mean alot done like it because why it changed. Tony Baxter creator of Splash mountain was not happy with the change because he worked with Black groups to make Splash a ride that had nothing racist in it because thats behind the change, people thought it was racist all of a sudden. Crazy

Splash Mountain had a better storytelling, for sure. And more Animatronics. Princess Tiana deserved a really new ride and not just a sort of makeover. Well, just my opinion. I have 50 years visiting WDW once a year and I think there are some attractions that You can set as “classics”. Pirates, Mansion, Big Thunder, etc… Splash Mountain, for me, had that status. It was a classic! You can improve, add new effects, do such things, but never get rid of them. But, again, It’s just an opinion from an old (and I mean it) Disney fan. Have fun, folks! ✌️
It is Fantasmic without the dragon/ They need to increase the plot of the ride and add Facilier. And kids that would be scared of Dr Facilier are too short to ride the ride.
The current imagineering team doesn’t have the talent to make that work…
That and they don’t want to spend money! They make so much money…
The queue looks ok in Florida (about the only part that looks ok), but what are they gonna do for us? There's no real space to do a kitchen in Anaheim's queue except for the old barn that they blast you through as they accept lightning lane guests over everyone else.
Also I like how we're getting an actually honest (negative) review from a Disney influencer type. Mondo can be a positive person but just not enjoy the garbage Disney hands down to us! It's OK to be a conscious consumer!
They need to get rid of that dumb new spice song and story line they need to keep it close to the movie and add the guy who does black magic near the drop of the ride would make more sense

Omg I can’t believe how many Disney bots there are! What an embarrassment to the company! That is so sad and weird! Thank you for pointing that out, Mondo! I think some people believe Disney isn’t doing that. I had a Disney bot reply to me recently to try to play down some of the criticisms of the ride and was obviously a bot. They need to stop with that, it’s not making them look good.
That can do an easy fix but they will have to close it another year for addons and more thrill. The time it will take for them to take the robots back to the computers and redo everything again.
Also they say the previews are part of their way of testing it. They haven’t been running it as much until now. So yes there are kinks to work out.
Well that's not entirely true splash mountain had issues even when the ride was active they call it the splash mountain curse it's always had a issue with break downs they seems they spend a lot of money on a reskin but didn't actually fix the actual issue of it always had issues I will keep saying yes I wanted a princess in the frog ride eventually but from scratch ground up they should of kept splash and built it princess and the frog beyond thunder mountain and disneyland forward this will continue to happen

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Disney imagineering has gone down in quality big time in the past decade. They just can't hit a home run with re-themes. Even Pixar Pier was very mediocre and lazily done.
As a local I feel like pretty much all recent additions here to the so cal Disney parks have been cheap and terrible. Pixar pier, San fransokoyo were both cheap lazy re themes that added nothing.
Galaxy’s edge is big and looks nice, and while rise is amazing smugglers run sucks. Not to mention the whole giant land is only 2 rides and the rest is 90% gift shops. avengers campus was probably among the worst, the spider man ride was very bad. The dr strange show was boring and very low budget. The land is tiny and they still haven’t even built the e ticket ride they have been promising us for 4+ years now
Only good additions have been the toontown refurb and rise of the resistance
@dayoldbread1696 agreed 100% I still feel like Galaxy's Edge is a glorified mall with a star wars theme. It could've been soo much more. I also hate how smugglers run still has the same single mission after all these years.😒
@@thrasher2753 I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that too! And I looked at the leaked concept art for galaxy’s edge and avengers campus and they had amazing ideas that were cancelled because corporate wanted to do it on the cheap. Galaxy’s edge had a ton more that was canceled and was even going to have a 3rd ride where you’d ride on the back of an animatronic bantha.
It’s sad how far Disney has fallen, and I worry how bad that avengers multiverse ride is going to be when they finally start building it here

I think had they stuck with a retelling of the original movie story line they would have been much better off. Seems the biggest problem is the forced 'messaging' story line that is confusing at best (other than the fact you are apparently going to a celebration). I also was expecting/hoping they would utilize projection mapping in certain areas of the ride like the lift hill. That one light they have seems lackluster unless it doesn't video very well. I think the primary AA's are really well done and I personally like the new song. (But can you imagine how awesome a Dr. Facilier AA could have been had they included him!) Maybe they can enhance the Disneyland version a bit before it opens but the basic premise of the ride will obviously not change. I'm sure I will enjoy it once I get to ride it. Will be interesting to see how the reception is once the general public has access to it. They really should build a Beignet stand in the back corner of Critter County - they would sell a ton of them.
Definetly the pov played a major role in the hate. This ride is really fun and if you like splash mountain more thats completely fine but if you just trash it because you want to that becomes a problem.

I find the story really confusing. Are we looking for a spice for a recipe or band members? How is Ray alive if the ride take place after the movie? However, the ride looks very pretty
Its called Tiana's Bayou Adventure but no adventure. I feel so many people have good ideas but we end up with an anticlimactic ride. So sad
i saw the ride on another video and it actually was really great and showed so much detail and how much beauty that this ride has to offer.

We are in the Disney bubble. Most of the general public and people who visit the parks don’t care that much about the skin of the ride. They’ll still have their fun drops and silly photos.
I care, and I’ll miss Splash, but I don’t have the connection to it like I do with rides like Pirates, Space, or Mansion. I’ve said my goodbyes, and there’s no use griping about it. It’s not coming back. I will always welcome change anyway. Can’t believe some of y’all are still on that boat.
We already know the situation. Anything Disney puts out now will be under heavier scrutiny and criticism, and simply hate a lot of the time. No matter if it’s good or bad; it will be seem to be heavily disliked.
The hate is primarily because the ride itself is underwhelming and half-baked, not just because they're replacing a well-like ride
This re-theme had so much promise. I was defending it left and right, got emotional when I saw the tease of top notch animatronics and the excitement of something fresh and new. Sadly this all seems like an expensive rushed idea with no heart to just be rid of Splash because it’s problematic. I love Tiana and wanted this to succeed, but I can’t get behind all the dead space, lazy screens and boring storyline. There’s no adventure whatsoever. However the bones are there. I feel things can be added and modified to make it better, but sadly Disney doesn’t care enough.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is wokism embodied in ride form. It’s vapid, boring, stupid, low quality, uninspired, unimaginative, and has a weak, uninteresting plot.
The ride has substantial blank spaces and lacks quality show scenes because Disney is no longer able to create quality dark rides with animatronics and three-dimensional show scenes that don’t rely on screens to tell the story.
The few animatronics are low quality despite the supposedly advanced technology used for them.
The music is uninspired and terrible.
The ride scene before the first big lift hill features what appears to be a plywood wall with pictures of food painted on it.
I hope this is just a temporary construction wall and not a permanent show scene. Disney’s quality has declined so markedly that it’s no longer possible to discern the difference between a construction wall and what Disney considers good enough to be a permanent show scene.
This ride would have been better off being based off of The Princess and the Frog movie and should have included Dr. Facilier.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure is abysmal in its own right and is made even worse by the fact that it replaced Splash Mountain which was a fantastic ride that ranked among the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean as Disney’s best rides.
Splash Mountain was not racist and did not need to be replaced.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure was not a “necessary downgrade” as the Disney apologist blog, Blog Mickey, absurdly states. Downgrading Splash Mountain was unnecessary and was done to appease a woke fringe minority who is offended by everything.
Disney wants to condition its park guests to accept a downgraded, lackluster park experience as normal which guests should never accept. Customers should refuse to spend money on a terrible, purposely downgraded experience.
The frequent breakdowns of this ride must be part of the “necessary downgrade” of Splash Mountain to Tiana's Bayou Adventure and are symbolic of the decline of Disney.
The people making the decisions for the parks in the united states gots to go man....
I live in Florida & have seen the outside of the ride. The outside is beautiful. Especially At night. It’s just looks like from the videos they didn’t put as much effort in the inside. Looks like more lights and Greenery and less animatronics. Will see when we get to ride it soon & hopefully it’s better then what the videos are showing.
if you actually paid attention to the story, which is not very hard to do, because it’s simple. Tiana trying to find the best musicians in the Bayou big OR small and mama Odie shrinks you down when you go to what used to be the laughing place. so you can find small insects and animals to play in the band then the last drop is mama Odie making you big again. I understand that from just this a really bad ride through video. Btw it’s a lot more pleasant than an evil fox trying to tar and feather a rabbit.😂
I think it’s ok. The only true highlights I love about the ride is the Louis animatronic and mama odi but I wish they had like a bigger story to the ride
The first time I rode both Tron and Cosmic Rewind, I was in literal tears of joy getting off of both of those attractions, because of how amazing it was. This ride does not give me those vibes

I feel like there shouldn’t be a comparison with the two. Historically I think “Tiana’s bayou” is a step in the right direction. Not trying to get political, just throwing out my opinion. I’m still excited to ride it regardless, because for some this goes beyond being a splash mountain replacement.

I agree that it’s too early to make assumptions about how great the ride will be until we ride it ourselves but asking not to make a one by one comparison to splash mountain and Tiana’s is asking for too much. I wanna complain for the fact that you’ve been so negative on Disney lately but I don’t blame you. You charge up the hoo-ha for regular tickets or exclusive passes you should at least spend all that money you’re earning by giving your guests a high class product. But Tiana’s Bayou doesn’t look bad. I’m honestly just happy America’s finally getting top tier animatronics like Tokyo. But that doesn’t excuse all the mess ups they’ve made for the pass few years. Especially with all the trash movies they’ve been releasing lately which is where majority of the money is being spent (but all your money’s being earned at the parks so why the hell aren’t you focusing on that?)

But yeah the constant disappointments in the parks and rising prices, bad decisions and failing movies have been annoying. I used to be a big fan of Disney but I feel like the amazing Disney of the past is long gone. what really annoyed me was when Disney hyped us all up for avengers campus and the spider man ride yet i went opening week and it was all cheap lazy garbage. Like seriously such a disappointment.

The story is so bland and boring, the lines are very stale and repetitive, there's so much empty spaces, the frog section is the dumbest idea ever, the cgi screen look ugly as hell, having no Dr. Facilier is a crime, the fumbled this badly and one could only hope down the line they close and change the story and scenes up because right now it's very lackluster, a lot of us tried to complain from the beginning especially with facilier being canned but any points of criticism we were called sexist, racist, all the names but no one listened to us

That the comment section on UA-cam is not the place to get an accurate assessment of how the public views the ride and certainly not any kind of objective analysis. Disney History is littered with fandom making an uproar about something that turned out to be well received among the general public.
@@koju737 Actually, it does. Just because a ride gets long lines doesn't necessarily mean that it's good and worth going on. Some rides are legitimately-overhyped and underwhelming. But in this case, there has been way more backlash than anticipation from the announcement all the way to the full ride reveal. And if you still don't see the issue, that further proves you're not a TRUE Disney fan at all.

A terribly boring log ride that pales in comparison to its predecessor in terms of story, music, dramatic tension and utilization of animatronics but sure, you still get to sit in a seat shaped like a giant log and get wet. So there’s that.

Much as I'd love to embrace this new ride ... and despite incredible music, animatronics and effects.... it seems a fraction of what it once was.
I feel the same way. I find Splash Mountain to be very iconic and charming, and I think that it deserved its right to stay knowing that it was designed to steer away from its racist origins and I think the majority separated the ride from the movie as well. And I was cautiously optimistic about Tiana’s ride, doing my best to block out cries over “wokeness” and “DEI” because I love the movie and found the new animatronic technology to be amazing. To see that this is what it’s all mounted (lmao) up for is disappointing to say the least.
Why the disparagement??? How awesome is it that Disney Imagineering used the salt mines of Avery Island, Louisiana, used during the Civil War, to create the entrance to the ride, so exciting to ponder the fate of up to 500 black slaves at a time while they toiled and were tortured during the Civil War (See Rice University - Avery Island for further details) covered in infected open sores from the salt, chained at the ankles and to each other and knowing they died in agony while you wait in the entrance to the ride. How brilliant of Disney to use a well documented place of heinous abuse of black people for a family ride!!! Imagine the merchandise that can be created and sold (especially for the Halloween nights) honoring certainly some the worst treatment of blacks in American History!!! Just keep in mine for those who don't appreciate beautiful fun Imagineering, for the squeamish, Disney has put up a sign on Tiana's Bayou stating "Salt Mines - Reserved - For Seasoned Veterans", meaning the tortured slaves.
Like I’ve said before over seas Disney parks they just have that dayum wow factor. They could have added some lighting in so many places, animatronics beautiful ok but the whole we turn into frogs that’s like so ridiculous. The new editions don’t match with the original interior and to me I feel like it’s still splash but just covered with Tiana and for me personally Tiana deserves a whole new ride fools like new building and I think it would of came together better just saying and the original princess and frog story not some Disney + 🤷♀️

Everyone is trying to retcon Princess and the Frog into being a classic Disney film. In Ed Catmull’s book, Creativity Inc, he admits that everyone internally at Disney knew it would be a flop, and it was a flop. They forced a remodel into the only black Disney princess they had instead of making a great movie about a black princess first, at a minimum.
They are just testing it you do realize it opens in 23 days officially yes it’s open but for testing most Disney casts haven’t even been on the ride to see it they are looking for defects and fix it before opening day

There are people who never intended to like this ride to begin with and just hate it for political reasons. They happen to be the most vocal. Criticisms are fair. But the online reaction is predictably toxic, dramatic, and subjective.
I mean regardless of politics the ride is pretty bad. Maybe not the worst ride ever but definitely far from good. Sure maybe some hate it due to politics but a find it hard to believe everyone hates it due to politics. I am far from political and wasn’t even a big fan of splash yet even I can say it was disappointing.
A similar situation happened with web slingers, Disney and the influencers said it was the best ride ever yet when I and the general public rode it it was very clear that the ride was done cheap and lazy. Web slingers was just an overall terrible ride
Politics aren't the only reason why almost everybody despises this.

At least based on povs. Removing any bias (good or bad) about Disney and I think most average people would think this is an enjoyable experience. Especially kids. Families that aren't in the Disneyverse aren't going to lose their minds about every little thing you know.

How are you going to tear down a world favorite attraction that as perfect and an icon. We would have been more happy, if they would put a tiana attraction else, where all kids can ride it.
The visuals are ok, but what ruins the ride is the story. The made up storyline is boring and not exciting. Had they stayed true to the movie and concept art, it could have easily been a win for Disney. Even Tiana in the concept art is dressed like a princess not in some farmer outfit. This ride is forgettable after a ride through.

All I’m saying is this is a PREVIEW, not an opening. Riding the ride IS different than watching online, 100%. That’s why people should decide for themselves if they like it or not WHEN they ride it.
I’ve seen so many people who are not “paid by Disney” that enjoyed the ride, it’s the personal experience that counts here.
