BMW E30 Knocking

Engine started making this noise after doing a timing belt and water pump replacement. When it was first started up it ran and sounded great, then after a short drive and trip to the gas station I got home and heard this.

I have a similar sound. Did you figure out what the cause was?

theydidntnameme it ended up being a loose bolt on the cam sprocket causing the distributor housing and rotor to rattle

Guess what. I just checked and that was my exact problem. I just did timing belt and water pump too (and camshaft seal). Forgot to tighten that bolt. I've been trying to figure this problem out for weeks, I was going insane trying to adjust the valves. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!
