When my dreads were longer, I used to wear mine up in a bun and I would use the dreads to hold it all up - no ties needed. I can't do that since cutting them shorter as it's not quite long enough. I also have the problem that I can't hold all of my dreads in one hand. I miss my big bun!
I prefer how mine look when they're down, but the front dreadlocks get in the way a lot so when I'm home I tend to pull the front ones back into a scrunchie (where you put the spiralock bun - I must get one of those!)
Elise, if your scalp is sore it is because the weight is pulling...not good. You don't want it to damage your roots that your hair will no longer grow.

I'm about to start my dread process and its something I've wanted for YEARS. A couple years ago I shaved my head completly so drastic hair styles/choices have always been a thing for me. But since I was little -around 8 or so- I have wanted dreads. My hair is now at my shoulder blades. I was wondering if this would be a decent length to start them or should I look into buying human hair extensions? I eventually want them about your lemgrh. Long and beautiful, but I know that will take patience and time. If I dread my hair now, will I look sort of silly and awkward? Or should I skip spemding all that money on dreads and throw myself into developing and growing my own loved ones out?
Quick question.. Have you ever tested woollen dread extensions? I have just ordered some but after seeing your human hair extensions I am second guessing my decision. Why did you decide to go with the human hair extensions?🐱🚀
You should try brushing out ur dread locks to get like confetti and stuff out not saying dreads are bad they are cute but it could help clean ur hair and condition it
@EliseBuch...These are not even styles that some one with 4A 4B or 4C hair can do...your styles dont looked good and your deads look nappy because dreads are not meant to be worn by someone with your hair type AT ALL....#staywoke #blackpower
