hi what is that grub screw right next to the clutch slave cylinder for? im having issues that my clutch releases way to early like 1mm away from the handle bar
I have a '16 300XC that has a slipping clutch. I just replaced it and bled/replaced the fluid (great video), but it's still slipping. Is there an adjustment I can make with the Slave Cylinder?
Did you check the adjustment on the spring retainer for the clutch plates? It should have X, Y, and Z mounting locations for more or less tension. If you are starting in the X position, bump it up to Y, then to Z, one step at a time until it doesn't slip. Ideally you would check the spring for distortion (0.00mm to 0.10mm) using a straight edge and feeler gauge. -Charles
@@rmatvmc Thanks, Charles. The adjustment is on the "Y" position - same as stock. I don't believe there is any spring distortion from the Belville Spring as it is brand new - OEM clutch kit purchased from Rocky Mountain. I'm going to check the Slave Cylinder, as I read the plunger can get clogged and not function normally. Please let me know if you think of anything else - thanks again.
What about the robber grommet you never took off how do I buy that I got a 06 250 sxf on trade had no clutch took it apart and there wasn’t a grommet was there a grommet for 06?
Contact cleaner and brake cleaner are different. Contact cleaner is less harsh and safer to use on more surfaces, including electrical components, while brake clean is a harsher with the sole purpose of cleaning and degreasing brakes. Hopefully that helps a little and thanks for watching the video!
I have a 2010 ktm 300xc. The slave cylinder did not have a gasket in the rebuild kit and also didnt have one when I took it off. The OEM schematics on RM do not show a gasket. However, my slave cylinder is exactly like the video shown. Do I need a gasket to seal the case of the motor and the slave cylinder face?
Hey boss i just replace my slave cylinder all new gaskets and everything and now I’ve developed a engine oil leak from the slave cylinder what can cause that ? Bad push rod seal ? Idk man im stumped
I have a 2014 KTM 350 SXF with a Rekluse clutch and master cylinder, is the process identical? Also is there not a seal behind the slave cylinder, I think I may have clutch fluid leaking into the crankcase. Thanks!
I just ordered the whole slave cylinder from KTM for 150 bucks, a tech explained to me how the piston eventually wears and scratches, and when the bike is hot, those scratches expand and allow clutch fluid to leak into the motor
can I use a similar O-ring or does it have to be the one that comes in the kit, reason I ask is I have a couple kits of SAE and Metric O-rings that look very similar that I have handy. What are the measurements of the O-ring that goes on the inside on the plunger? anybody?
Make sure ur O-rings are brake fluid compatible and won’t degrade/polute fluid in short term. As long as no leak hapoens once everything installed at recommende torques, then good. DON’t over torque!!! Engine metal composite doesn’t tolerate over torquing of screws/nuts/bolts. 😕
It will leak in but I doubt it would eat away at that stuff. If it happened on my bike, I would just rebuild the slave cylinder and change the oil. -Charles
@@jacob2483 Put everything together and pump the lever until the piston pop out. You may want to open the reservoir as you have to make sure that there is enough oil to keep pushing it out.

fc 450 2019 slave fail used an o ring. I've comments on other channel metric 19mm inside diameter 2.5 .... o ring. 17 model same design. eBay o ring kit.
Can it applicable for250 also. And one more thing I wanna to ask is "what is the function of spring in slave cylinder" as piston moves by the pressurised fluid?
Apparently yes. Magura did disapoint me after I took my bike and had 3 fails in 3 days. The silicone does not resist to heat, while clutch producing the most heat. This was not such a cheap quality on my previous bikes
Origins were before WWII with the advent of hydraulic mechanisms, even pulley systems, where one device controls the motions of one or more multiple devices ( a brake pedal stopping 4 wheels simultaneously). Since 1976 the US has issued more than 67,000 patents using the terms, from an antenna system to a data-encoding method to a “vehicle ramp assembly.” Snowflakes will object to the mechanical terms, but the rest of us do not see a correlation to past human bondage. How about male and female threads? Of course there are the left-hand threads which don't fit into the norm. ...or UNF, UNC, Metric , Whitworth,, British Standard threads., none of these populations of hardware should not, and cannot be allowed to mate with each other, otherwise a weaker product results. Thanks. Replaced my Husky FE 250 slave cylinder today with a Rekluse slave cylinder. This video helped out a lot.
*tool falls*
Technician: “yeah we’re just gonna set that right there”
Why the hell wouldn’t it come with the rubber boot over the cylinder. That’s annoying as hell

What is the white substance inside the Magura clutch slave cylinder? Do the Husqvarna Maguras use a paper gasket like the KTM Brembo?
It's most likely silicon grease used for assembly. Yeah, they have a paper gasket. -Charles
great video ,thank you.

hi i live in uruguay, you do international shipments?
hi, I am a bit late but what is the difference from dot 5.1 and mineral oil? on my ktm exc 125 it says "only use mineral oil", is that dot 5.1?
No, they are two different oils and you should ONLY use mineral oil if that is what your clutch calls for.
How do you get it out without compressed air ?
Did you ever figure out a way to do this? I am in the same boat…

What part fits 2010 Husqvarna SM 510R Magura slave cylinder?
Can I upgrade clutch cable into hydraulic clutch for duke390 for2020
You can't just switch the cable and have a hydraulic clutch but Magura does make a hydraulic clutch conversion kit for the KTM Duke 390.

Apparently yes.

My ktm sx 125 doesn’t have that rubber peice its just a metal face ive never seen anything like that
My gas gas bike doesn't either ,
On my 250 sx the rubber is slightly ripped but with you saying the sx125 don’t have one I’m guessing it isn’t much of a big deal

What about the Y dimension to identify which size gasket to use? 😂
Why did English speakers start calling it a slave cylinder in WW2. Most others and the parents call it an actuator or a receiver?
