  • THINGS I LEARNED IN THE PROCESS...
-color don't lift color, which means if you have any type of color on your hair already you will have to strip it with a color corrector in order to dye your hair another color...unleesss the color your dying it to is darker than the previous color. you can't go lighter !!!
-everyone hair does not dye the same, pay attention to your hair in the process.

I've watched about 5,000 videos before bleaching my hair things I've learned to do
    1. Start on dirty hair
    2. Do NOT DO YOUR ROOTS UNTIL YOU FINISH THE BOTTOM
    3. LET IT SIT for a while until you get the color you want and if it's burning 🥵 that's what I've learned so far
I'm bleaching my hair for New years honey blonde I can't wait
Edit: feb 8 and I did it 💝🥰

I see a lot of girlys saying her hair ain’t get bright enough because of the previous dye, that could be true, but also you should’ve waited like 30 minutes to do your roots, because your scalp generates heat, which causes your roots to dye faster. I don’t want the girls with virgin hair to try this and then wonder why their hair didn’t come out right even though their hair was never touched before. All love 🫶🏾✌🏾

    • @Trisaann
      @Trisaann Рік тому +15

I did this with my virgin hair and it turned out better than hers, i did my roots last and the overall color was like 2 shades brighter than the ends of her hair but overtime the copper gets darker. So it all depends on the person hair just bc its virgin don’t mean the hair wont take the color completely

She didn’t bleach her ends long enough but first you need to know what level your hair is starting at and what color level you want to achieve you also need to know what developer to use and remember developers all do the same thing 20 30 and 40 all can achieve what you Want it depends on how long you leave it on if your going for a blonde example you can’t get to a light blonde in one sitting or one bleach sesh so what she should have did was used 30 developer on mid lengths ends first leave it on for 30 minutes at least or intill desired color is achieved then do her roots with no more than 20

And if it’s she wants a decent ginger copper after bleaching get a semi permanent copper ginger dye and dye it right after bleaching

Part of it is the previous color on your ends, part is because your hair is naturally coarser, but the biggest part is that the heat from your scalp makes the color process faster! You should've left your ends for at least 30 minutes and done your roots for the last 10-15 minutes. You still look gorgeous and your color looks amazing!

Definitely glad you realized at the end that your results were because of the previous box-dye you had on your hair. I learned from watching Brad Mondo videos (definitely suggest looking at his tutorials if you're bored or want to try this again) Basically, box dye is a gamble because you have no idea what is in the developer so you need to lift your hair with bleach and developer before dying it a bright color. Your roots were virgin hair so it took to the the developer in the box dye easily ❤Your hair looked gorgeous in the end btw that stylist did amazing!

honestly I always go to a professional for my hair color. it is expensive BUT it always comes out how i want and i dont have to stain up my own bathroom etc. I also have less risk of damaging my hair. i only get my hair colored a few times a year...maybe 3 tops. while doing it yourself saves money, it doesnt always end up how you want. if you don't know what youre doing, I'd just go to a salon, especially dealing with bleach etc. i dont really splurge on anything like nails and stuff but i take my hair seriously so id rather not risk it doing it myself because im clumsy lol.
nothing wrong with learning to do it yourself tho. i know plenty of ppl who do it themselves, including my mother. I personally dont have the confidence or patience to do it myself lol. I'll spend that little extra coin every time. i do wanna try the adore colors tho for in between salon visits.

Sometimes it doesn’t. I spent $500 at a salon and all they did was over process my near waist length hair! I had hot roots and all my hair fell out. Like all of it. I had to end up getting a short bob! It’s been a year for 6 months I had to keep cutting it because it was so damaged. I’m now back to bra length. Don’t be like me y’all! Them people tore my hair up!
For some reason when I do my hair myself it grows better. I even bleached my hair myself and did a better job!
I do go in for trims and cuts and occasional blow outs but I mostly do it myself

Roots are going to process quicker because of your body heat. If you apply heat on your ends it will work too. Use a blow dryer when you have it in a wrap or buy one of those heat wraps where you can hook it too your blow dryer works wonders.
