Apparently this place was built as a 'corporate retreat' based on the design and feel I can see that. Has a very 80s early 90s corporate feel to it. He might've listed it as that for tax reasons, but it is still a impressive house/retreat.

Looks like he enjoyed bidets. As for the gun range the heavy door and glass serves two purposes. One to reduce noise coming from the range. Two in case of ricochet or negligent discharge the round will not pass into the house.

    Evergreen
In 1991, Plaster and Evergreen National Corporation built Evergreen Crystal Palace, a 28,000-square-foot green-glass and marble structure on a bluff over Table Rock Lake. The Stone County Assessor said in 1991 that construction cost for the building was $6 million and the value of the approximately 400 acres of Plaster's land nearby was $750,000.
Although sources originally reported the mansion would be used as Plaster's home and Evergreen corporate retreat, an attorney for Evergreen issued a press release stating the building was a corporate facility.

Except for having things checked out by qualified inidividuals the mechanicals of this beautiful place - would not change much else other than updating what really does need to be updated such as electrical, heating, A/C, plumbing, and then technology items such as security/camera systems perhaps.
One primary goal would be getting it far more energy efficent as well "green" so to speak with an example being adding a fair amount of solar with battery systems/generator so as to get this more so "off grid". Heat pumps?
If not much else was ever even used but is in good working condition - why waste $$$? Everyone who narrates as well as comments on these videos of the Evergreen Crystal Palace says it needs so much updating? To what? The latest "yuppie" trends? I think it is very gorgeous pretty much as is as well as unique plus even though it was built 30+ years ago was far far ahead of it's day back then.
If any remodeling and to make it even more self-sufficent - use the first 3 floors for a boutique' higher end motel/hotel/resort and use the 4th floor for living quarters/offices on a personal/private basis is another thought but would not change anything any more than is necessary to keep everything as much as it is now and going forward. 🙂
