  • Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur standing at nearly 1,500 feet high, were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. The buildings rise above a shopping district, hotels and urban gardens.
    The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is one of the largest covered bird sanctuaries in the world. The park is home to over 300 species and about 3,000 birds. Nearly all the species are local to Malaysia with many of the other bird’s from Southeast Asia.
    Batu Caves is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India. At the base of the colorful stairs leading to a cluster of cave temples stands a 140 foot golden statue of Murugan, the Hindu god of war.
    The National Mosque of Malaysia has capacity for 15,000 worshippers. The mosque was completed in 1965 and its modern design for that period was a celebration of the country’s independence from British rule eight years before.
