Lol watch the altimeter? U mean the tiny little spec somewhere at the end of the arrow? 😆 just a guess but im pretty sure its rapidly dropping lol
You can clearly see the hands spinning… they even pointed right at it with an arrow. Are you ok?
@@numnut1516 to be fair I had a hard time seeing it at first too, took me a minute to figure out what the arrow was pointing at lol

@@numnut1516 num nut, you’re a num nut
@@numnut1516 Your name is accurate, moron.
F-15 pilot here. The maneuver he is performing is called an SFO (simulated flame out). It's a corkscrew-ish flight path from directly above the field to be able to land with no engine power. It's an F-16 in the video.
In civilian flight school that is called an emergency descent but I'm a Vietnam veteran and experienced this in a C-7A to avoid enemy small arms fire that was expected to be taken on a long, slow, low attitude final.
There was no warning. We were flying straight and level and then suddenly, nose down, low left wing, spiralling. I wasn't afraid. I knew it wouldn't hurt to die at that speed. The load master explained what it was about after landing. I would have appreciated that explanation before the experience. I also had one JATO in a C-130 from Pope AFB. Military flying is EXHILARATING! Military pilots are badass.
Thanks to both of you for your service!
Happy Veterans Day!
Just curious about them being allowed GoPro's in the cockpit, isn't there a risk of FOD if it comes loose?
@@cbftoan01Saw a vid where a gopro in an F-18 falls off the mount, and it just rattled around to the floor.
It's not gonna get sucked into an engine or anything like that.
Remember in a cockpit, most of the controls are at the pilots hands on both sides, the control stick/column, and only pedals on the floor.
Your plane is sexy. I'd Richard Bebo that shit.
During training years ago I had two F4s come screaming down on a mock bombing run against an anti aircraft gun I was standing next to and pulled up from the dive it was almost ear shattering, ground rumbling badass as hell. I must have been grinning like crazy .🙉🤣
I’m a pilot, and I can’t even see that damn altimeter. But I can just tell from the view outside the cockpit he lost a lot of altitude very quickly. Impressive maneuver 👏

I was in a commercial plane coming in to LAX when the pilot obviously got new instructions from the tower to approach from the other direction. He put the plane on edge and swung around the airport, diving down at about 20 or 30 degrees to put it gently on the runway. Everyone clapped. Truly an ex-military pilot.
LAX go-arounds and WWII pilot landings scare me!
@@Torch4ya Hawaii airlines go arounds will make stomach drop so hard.
@@WafflesGoneWild1 hahah best landings in the biz out there. Makes you even more thankful to be there.
Similar story: Way back in the day United let you listen in on cockpit comms if you had headphones to plug in. I was on a late flight into Denver on a 772, and I hear approach give clearance for an ILS approach. Pilot replies that he has the field in sight, and asks for a visual instead. Approach comes back and says sure, you're number one in line, knock yourself out. I'm on the right side of the plane, and I can see the field, and we are just about even with the runway. Pilot goes for maybe 20 more seconds, drops his gear, then begins a descending slow right turn, and levels out to flare just as we hit the end of the runway. He absolutely kisses the runway, too. That is my favorite landing of all time.
Smooth as glass landings are my fav. I hate the bumping 3 or 4 times going too fast, and then getting slammed back into your seat, as the pilot hits the reverse thrusters.
Damn homie got the notes on BOTH legs, no way he gonna fuck this one up

I watched and watched but never saw the altimeter.
@@generallee9008I don't know if they still do this, but back in the 60s they would take the test pilots who were qualifying for the NASA astronaut program through incredible tests requiring concentration and focus while being disoriented. One of the tests was they would put the pilot into a gyroscope seat and while the seat was rotating in all directions, they would flash different color lights and have the pilot solve puzzles and do fast math equations.

What a life ! Full of adrenaline and excitement.
Good for you brother. I saw the needle spinning
counter clockwise rapidly just fine. Nice ride you got there.
You're seeing a glimpse of the cool part. A typical week for a fighter pilot is 60 hours. They can only be on duty for 12 hours a day by regulation.
They do a lot of reading and research, whether on the capabilities of enemy aircraft and air defense systems, or new capabilities being developed for their aircraft.
When they're not flying they're either debriefing the previous flight or planning the next one. Both are painstaking, detailed processes.
That has got to be an amazing feeling. I mean driving a car is fun...imagine it in 3D and 700mph!!!
I had the opportunity of taking a ride in an F-4 Phantom it was absolutely amazing
Each time I see these GUYS, I appreciate their commitment, dedication and sacrifice for the country. Take care and God bless you always.

So quiet, imagine how peaceful it must be for a confident and experienced pilot. Just Silence. Supersonic, silent inside.
Engines are probably at or near idle. It gets louder when going up compared to down.
F16’s bubble canopy offers tremendous visibility to pilot!
The Altimeter he’s pointing to is pretty visible. It’s that arrow with the white line on it that keeps spinning counterclockwise, and in the middle is the altitude displayed in analog.
No shit but it’s more like you can actually see the readings. You get a better idea of his altitude from looking out the canopy, not a spinning white arrow.
@@Flow-.- that arrow gives you the precise altitude 😂
I see a dude who has an amazing job.
We use to do this all the time in the C-130. It’s called a hot zone landing. 2 min of weightlessness in the back. Balls tripping fun for the young bucks!!!
Strange is it may seem. As safe as that flight manuever looks, we a had aircraft crash at an air show like this and he frog plopped on the ground. Like a friend of mine says, "Physics does work."
Yup. Though, it’s safer in an f-16 than any other aircraft because the 16 is just a beast 😊
Well if the F-16 fails to do that manouver. It Will not be a Fighter Jet in the USAF 😂😂

Fighter Pilots are the coolest 💪❤❤ God Bless and Protect You Always Amen 🙏❤️🙏🙏❤️
Once I chauffeured a fellow around NASA in the late 69’s. He had arrived at the little airport in a twin engine V tailed plane, he asked me if I wanted a ride. We took off got some altitude, free around about 10 minutes and then the pilot slipped down from around 5000 feet to land at the runway which seemed to be almost underneath us when he started. I was stunned at the maneuver! I asked him weren’t we supposed to line on the runway from way back…he said he didn’t need to, so I asked him where he learned to do that and he said “oh, I flew P-51s over in Europe during the war.”
Lol. I didn’t say another word!
