Shawn , I agree think Ben Johnson would be a great fit into the Head Coaching position. His pregame press conference was interesting because the press was all over the Tom Brady angle covering the game for Fox. He mentioned last year he was unprepared to answer Big Picture ( HC type ) questions but he has done work between now & last season to remedy what seems as his weakness ( not being a HC ).

Yeah for sure - looks like he’s grown into a better candidate. I would love to have him.
Who would be your number 2?
I posted about the Brady nonsense (can’t believe it’s allowed). I’m not buying that it’s in the up and up… it’s Brady lol
Thanks for always being involved here. Appreciate it. 🐻⬇️

@@SportsTalkBears1 Well Joe Brady fits into that HC profile of young Offensive minded coach with success. That Trace Armstrong connection though makes me want to throwup. Freeman from Notre Dame ? He sure gets the most out of his players. Never thought they would beat Penn State.

@ yeah the Armstrong connection is gross… lol

      # 2 Todd Monken does not fit the young Offensive minded HC CW wants. He is a Illinois guy - Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he was a three-year letter-winner at quarterback for Knox and earned first-team small college All-America as a senior. At age 58 he does not fit the HC CW described as his pick.

@ Mike McCarthy had the Cowboys looking completely unprepared for that demolishion on their home field in last years playoff Vs the Packers ! I do not want to see that guy around the Bears.

I agree that Chicago's roster --especially QB is far better than the Raiders. Caleb's presence should be significant, as was Mr Tom to th Pat's... I would hold out for Ben !

Johnson the best option. Give him whatever he wants. I'll pass on freeman

      I’ll take Freeman easily.

You’re both nuts. I’ll take the guy with the most coaching experience who’s won a Super Bowl Mike McCarthy. Who also great a grooming quarterbacks.

Freeman possibly moving up to the next level reminds me when Notre Dame hired Gerry Faust in the 1980s who had only been a high school coach. His stellar success at the high school level never materialized for the Irish. I'm going to give Freeman's consideration a hard no but wish him well.

I'm a huge fan, great respect for him as a coach and man. He seems very organized, good mind, team 1st guy, but not sure he's the right choice.

As long as it's NOT Adam Gase or Josh McDaniels, I almost don't mind who it is😆.. If the new HC works the team hard, focuses on details, doesn't rely on phrases, knows how to use timeouts and is nothing like Nagy, Trestman, or 'Flus, it's all good! 🐻⬇

Don’t see Ben a leader of men but maybe

A leader of men and an offensive minded coach, sounds like McCarthy to me.

Shawn , I like your video, your information, but ! How many experience coaches have failed , you’re saying that Marcus Freeman wouldn’t cut it because lack of professional experience , I beg to differ , you’ve brought up Pete Carroll’s , where did he come from before he started coaching NFL? Was he successful? Exactly that’s why people shouldn’t know doubt the ability of Freeman. Perhaps the Bears need somebody different.

    • @SportsTalkBears1
      @SportsTalkBears1  20 днів тому

You know what? That’s a good point with Carroll as an example. Thx for that!
I’m just a bigger proponent of Johnson at this stage. Appreciate this and you being here!
Who is your preference for the job? 🐻⬇️!

Makes absolutely no sense for the Bears to hire Freeman. How is he going to develop Caleb? He’s a defensive coordinator at heart , not a QB coach!
In fact, they shouldn’t interview and defensive coaches!

Will the Chicago Bulls I've heard two or three coaches from Iowa State University and I'm sure everybody remembers how that worked out it didn't and a 30-year-old college coach running an NFL team that has men that are probably older than him on it I don't think they're going to appreciate taking orders from some young coach and I don't even know what he is. is he an offensive guy is he a defensive guy or is he just a guy that will have for a couple years and we'll get rid of I'm thinking the lader
