It was a pretty good festival for being the first one. Hopefully next year they improve on some of the issues from the first but overall, worth it. I went with two my best friends, every band put on an amazing show and got to see MCR live for the first time. Definitely one of the best memories for sure.
Thanks so much for covering this Brickey! I was so tempted to go but did have my doubts when I saw the incredible “too good to be true” lineup…. I was also about to pull the trigger on tickets for 2023 but wanted to see how this first one went so thanks for showing that it might actually be a good event to go to! 🖤 Also love JEW, one of my all time faves.
Looks like an amazing time. I know that VIP played a big part, but as you say, "When you have adult money..." and I couldn't agree more. Also... Love that you decided on your own headliner. Perfect.
Thanks for a great review, I worked in Production at WWWY , and your coverage was both accurate and informative. I so wish you toughed it out until the end, you missed epic performances by Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, and My Chemical Romance. See you next year
It wasn’t THAT windy, it was windy but Saturday was like the apocalypse outside. And there was no way in hell they would’ve cancelled the entire weekend
Did not realize Davey was in the middle of transforming into Spock. Jimmy Eat World still sounds AMAZING. Bleed American holds up as one of the best records of its time. Looks like a ton of fun overall! Thanks for sharing with us!
If you actually grew up on going to bamboozle, warped, etc you enjoyed this concert beyond belief!!! Enjoyed the hell out of my experience it was beyond great!!!
Love Hey Brickey! Keep up the good work! Thanks for taking your channel with you, the videos you made were good. One Question, would you have gone to this event if you just had a regular ticket ?
First I must apologize for missing your video yesterday I know you worked hard on it now I must say that looked like one heck of a good time with such great bands and I’m so happy you were able to go backstage man I’m jealous but the way I look at it good people deserve good things that way you got the gift of heaven backstage now I must say if i could go back in time i would so love to go to the 1969 Woodstock Festival to hang with the awesome hippies but not to do drugs or drink but to see all the awesome performers just say I’m a hippie at heart love the music of the 60s & 70s like good old Jefferson Airplane so thanks so much for a day at a great Festival now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you and I’ll see you on the next awesome video peace ☮️ out ✌️
I was there, I just had to be a part of what I thought was going to be a once in a lifetime show for me. Went to see AFI, ...just got back from seeing them in Philly too!
So modern. Back in my day Day on the green in Oakland was our music festivals. I did see Led Zeppelin right up front but I was a young gal. Could never do that now lol need my vip comfy seat😂
This is Craig Dennis i watch your videos all the time are you haveing in Las Vegas how is the weather in Las Vegas i in joy all of your videos all the time you have a nice safe evening 👍👍👍👍👍
VGHC all day!!! Was rocking my trucker hat on the 29th haha. Glad that gj made it into your video. Also, who knew that Christian Bale was singing for JEW now.
Sorry I missed you there, but definitely enjoyed it! JEW was amazing! I was also impressed with the level of execution with the setup, food, bars, etc. Thanks for the vid.
@@1Capnjazz that would be an awesome show! I've seen em quite a few times. First time was them opening for Tenacious D and Weezer in Phoenix in 2001. Fuck I'm old. Good times!!
That's awesome! Never thought I'd see someone from the Disney community covering these kind of events! I love rock ever since I was a kid like 9-10 years old. Would love to go to a festival like this. Out of all the bands that played there, my #1 favorite is Bring Me The Horizon (by far), followed by The All-American Rejects, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Story Of The Year and Paramore.
What a coincidence, the only band I have heard is Jimmy Eat World, a local favorite. Ever listen to Jim Atkins’ smoother recordings? Great guitar work.
Despite the issues for Saturday's show, it was LEGIT. The venue would not have been safe for how windy it was. Our plane leaving from Detroit on Saturday was actually delayed to leave because of the wind in Vegas. I had an amazing time though. I saw all the bands I wanted to see, and then some, and got a good view despite a GP ticket.
Wow thanks for sharing. I can see why people were saying I was lucky I went on the 29th. No wind made a huge difference. Bought my ticket for next year. VIP is a must.
@ratkid4560 I go alone so VIP is easier to get around. Plus they have charging stations for my phone. I also get better views. The entrance doesn't bother me since I go early.
There was alot going agisnt it, bands not knowing they were on the line-up til it was announced, having to change the schedule to actually fit all the bands. Happy that it worked out in the end though!
I went through a pop-punk phase in my early 20s from 1999-2004ish. All of my favorites from that time were at this show (which I didn't attend). Blink 182, Lit, Fenix TX, Jimmy Eat World, Offspring, Sum 41, MxPx, Good Charlotte (first album only).
The festival was great, but im sorry, the MIXING WAS GARBAGE. The sound was so so so bad, and it was such a shame honestly. It was like I was blasting my favorite artists through through an old 90’s radio.
Can you let me know for people with medical conditions , I can’t tell is there a lot of walking from the entrance to the stages? Is there a lot of seating space nearby if need be?
Davey sure looks different from when I use to see him in the early-mid 90s when AGI was all about east bay hardcore, AFI shows in those days were sm,no more than a 100 people ,Davey wasn't so flamboyant in those day's
Well, with respect to honesty of the festival and non-subjective feedback, if you were lucky enough to have a VIP pass or can afford it it was definitely worth it. However, many of us are not gifted the backstage access, which makes this festival a whole lot different of an experience!
Correct. However as being one who went I can tell you the unique thing about this fest was that free reentry was available. If you wanted to chill out in between set you didn't care about you were able to leave, chill out at either the Sarah or CircusCircus (insert nearby locale), then arrive back for the shows you care about. So yes completely different experiences but not all too dissimilar.
Hey Bricky! , Who is the guy that appears in the video at 3:04? This guy looks so familiar to me and it is driving me crazy trying to figure out why I know this guy. Thanks!
TBH......it was amazing but lines for NON-VIP food etc... was really ridiculous. And yes....the merch line was INSANE! It was an almost 3 hour wait so I had to leave after an hour and I only moved 4 steps in that amount of time. They also needed better meet-up spots because signal was TERRIBLE and once you lost someone.....you were separated the rest of the festival. Can't go next year but hopefully the one in 2024 and hopefully it will be better. Other then that.....Sunday was AMAZING. We had such a great time. Heard that the crowds sucked on the 29th though. Like posting-up all day @ the main stage just to see that headliners and not allowing people who were actually into the current bands playing to get up front and show the bands some love. Bands even commented on it. That's just not good concert etiquette. They even got mad at people who were "in the pit area" for wanting to mosh......I mean.....WHY DID YOU COME? Let people do NORMAL concert stuff or GO HOME! LAME!!!
I feel the leaving early vibe for sure. No way I would have made it to the end of the night. But…you only had to make it another 90 mins or so to see Bright Eyes.
I appreciate the sentiment but leaving before MCR is a sin
It was a pretty good festival for being the first one. Hopefully next year they improve on some of the issues from the first but overall, worth it. was security strict on the sizing of the clear backpacks? or did they not care so much

AFI almost put me to sleep compared to the other bands. And yes, I agree on the Spock correlation 100%
Vegas + extreme weather event + nostalgic music festival - crowd stress = partytime math 😅 Glad you had a great time 🎸
Looked like a lot of fun, thanks for taking us with you!
Thanks for sharing this! Looks lime a lot fun for sure!
So fun! Glad you had an amazing time there!

This was such a cool cool cool video. I was wondering what it was like to attend the festival. Thank you for this.
This looks like such a good time!! I just introduced Wyatt to the All Hallows EP, I love AFI!

12:55 The entire crowd was singing The Middle with Jimmy Eat World. That was such an incredible experience and I"m glad you caught that on film.
Love to see you different places. A bit of variety is great. Of course I look forward to Disneyland

Man it was an awesome day in more awesome when i spot myself in your video at the AFI set
Thank you for giving AFI the recognition they need, everyone covering WWWY were glossing over them. Davey is a fucking God tier villain 🤘🖤
AFI doesn’t play good music they fell off after the art of drowning at least for me
@@jonathanbeltran2910 after December underground.
The best weekend I've ever had
Jimmy Eats World played at a friend's fraternity at ASU back in the early 90's. Local Mesa AZ band done good.
AFI was my daughters favorite band she is 34. I loved them to o.
So fun to virtually tag along. 🎸
Going to sick new world next month. Glad i watched your video. Wonder if i can upgrade my tickets, its gonna be packed AF.
Some great bands in that lineup!

Afi!!!!
I'm going tomorrow! Oct 22, 2023 can't wait! Thanks for sharing
Let’s gooooi
It was so fun, My friend and I loved it. Would definitely love to go again..
Sorry I missed you there, but definitely enjoyed it! JEW was amazing! I was also impressed with the level of execution with the setup, food, bars, etc. Thanks for the vid.
Yea. I saw them in 02. Open for Green Day and blink 182. Futures hadn’t even come out.

I was excited to see MCR, but left disappointed by the performance. Enjoyed several of the bands on the Stripe and Checker stages.
@@ericfriedrichs2921 what disappointed you about it? Just curious.
Saturday the 29th was magical
What a coincidence, the only band I have heard is Jimmy Eat World, a local favorite. Ever listen to Jim Atkins’ smoother recordings? Great guitar work.
Thanks for capturing me and the bunnies!
Thanks for this video. This gives me an idea for when I go to the New Sick World festival in May.
Omg that looks great afi was my shit back in the day lol maannn I really shoulda made my way out there.... my thoughts though, I'm old af now....
So glad I was old enough to see these bands when they were in their prime
I went it was so dope!
YES IT IS WORTH GOING
Dude is walking away as knocked loose is playing smh
Big day out in Australia please come back!🙏

Last time I went to a concert like that it was Deftones and Alice In Chains back in 2009 I remember watching A grown man was cry
I love how you can 100% hear Bryan Garrison at the end when he’s wrapping up 😂

Got cancelled the first day. At least glad to see what it was like
Got my tickets for this year. all sold out already. Can't wait!
I saw AFI in a small bar venue and Davey was walking on the crowd and bars it was dope.
Was the general admission near the fromt of the stage? Im thinking about buying tickets to sick new world and was wondering if its worth it?
No MCR?! Bummer man. Glad u had fun
What is the song at 3:25 ?
People thought Lovers & Friends was a scam too. It was the R&B version of this. 🤣 but it was very real.
Nice camera what do you use?
The festival was great, but im sorry, the MIXING WAS GARBAGE. The sound was so so so bad, and it was such a shame honestly. It was like I was blasting my favorite artists through through an old 90’s radio.
Same issue this year. It's like their sound techs are clueless
Can you let me know for people with medical conditions , I can’t tell is there a lot of walking from the entrance to the stages?
Is there a lot of seating space nearby if need be?
the dude with the black cap next to the blink bunnies is the bands Touring manager!
Looked like you had a good time Brickey.
Were the couches only able to be accessed if you were VIP? The pillows are so cute! What a perfect Photo Op Spot!!
Where are the youtubers now that said this is a scam festival? Shame on them...using their platform to spread negativity just for views.
Really enjoyed the vlog, but I’m definitely not young because I’ve never heard of any of those bands 😋 #dontjudge #isqueenstillcool
So getting to the pink tent ahead of time if I don't have Vip to get good spots?
Guy walking by in the beginning of the video with pink hair was Comedian Josh Martin who opens for Pauly Shore.
I was there.
It was the best day of my life 🩷
What band is this @2:35 ... lush?
I'm so glad we don't have VIP pits in France this is such BS like - I'd be so mad to play in front of people arranged according to their wealth lol

8:18 Poor Davey! Can’t believe no one got him a pair of sunglasses so he could actually see the audience he was singing for.
You put up a review, but leave early?
Now I would have opted for the VIP tickets for next year. It’s a $300 difference but with being old, it may have been worth it 😢
The lines for merch were long maybe add QR codes to order and pickup like at Louder Than Life.
Am I not getting something? Because the 2023 "when we were young festival" is in October of this year. This video was for the 2022 festival.
Shoutout to Knocked Loose for the pallet cleanse

The slope is slippery indeed😏
Bright eyes is trash, he didn’t even want to be there. He hates making music and he was lazy on stage. Spewed a lot about his feelings…..
Had no idea Wolf Alice performed.
Got two VIP passes for next year! Hope it's not windy that day. 😬
To be fair, at the time the lineup was first released, it was only advertising one date. That’s part of the reason people doubted.
Stripe and checkered stages were the best stages had the best bands
