  • We are constantly low on power to charge our electronics and often had the car running in order to have enough electricity to power the video camera, phones, trolling motor, etc. We have a small generator, but it took up too much room in the Element and bothered nearby campers. We finally bit the bullet and bought our first portable solar panel.
It put out more power than the reviews I read, but the quality of the workmanship and having sent me the wrong product had me do more research and hopefully found one with better fits our needs.
We are planning on traveling across the country and so I think a solar system is going to be a must.

You have to set the battery type in the controller before connecting a battery B01 for lead acid, B02 for Lith ion and B03 for Lith Fosf

You're measuring the voltage in open circuit, connect it up and get it charging a battery, then take the voltage and it will have dropped to roughly Vmp.

My Dokio panels arrived with a DOA controller. I contacted Dokio’s customer service in China to see about replacement. I am still without a replacement offer or solution fifteen days later. Brand new panels and I cannot use them without major modification. No customer service - no option to purchase replacement/repair parts. Keep this in mind when making your solar panel purchase. Caveat emptor!

As soon as you measured it and said its not even the right size i started laughing.. It is the correct one at 88"x21" , did you think each panel was 88"s ? Plus you kind of had no idea what you were doing, thank god you were only messing with DC, if that was AC you woulda been fried.

I ordered same one and it does say 160 watts and further in the descriptions it says 150 watts. I’m fine with that as long as I get a new item. If I can get at least 90 to 100 watts to charge my Bluetti EB3A I’ll be content.

@@travelinggreenturtle9126 And never measure Amps that way. You just shortcircuited it. That's why it was smoking. You need to connect your ammeter between the panel and a load, then connect the free wire of the load to the free wire of the panel.

I had the dokio 100 or 120 panels but the black connection wires or the glue attaching then to the panel started to melt as the Arizona sun got very hot in June. That being said it delivers a lot of power but cheaply made.i sent mine back.

I sent mine back also. It took up too much room in the Element. It did put out a lot of power. I ended up with Baldr 120.

You should attached your battery into the charge controller first before the solar panels.

Ok if you’re gonna play around with the wires like that, cover the panel so there isn’t voltage being generated. Sure the amperage that’s possible isn’t big but…

No I didn’t. I did a bit more research and got a Baldr 120. It’s much smaller, which is better for my Element.

Does it produce wattage close to how it's advertised? 160wx75% = 120w output?
