The colourful houses on the Welsh coast are down to fishermen. They used to paint their houses in prominent colours so they could point them out to their shipmates when they were coming back in to the bay to land their catch. Quite interesting really. I believe the traditional spreads across the British coast and that's why the majority of fishing towns/villages have colorful houses (hence a lot of Wales/UK seaside towns being referenced as balamory)
Thank you for sharing that, that’s really intriguing to find out! I’ll be sure to visit more seaside towns in future to check this pattern out for myself
@@AttractionswithAsh have a look at places like Tenby, Saundersfoot, New Quay ( West Wales not Cornwall)and Aberaeron. You will for sure see the pattern then.
Ah: you missed the university about another 400 yards up that steep main road. Thought you could've made it to the funicular railway, just off the front from the Glendower: that's a great visit. And how can you go to Aberystwyth and not have an ice-cream cone?! Nice video though. I wanna go again having watched this! 🍦
Ahh i see, i’ll keep that in mind for next time! I think my brain just had a moment in that instance! I am starting to regret not staying overnight there in order to get more in, i’ll have to consider something in the near future
@@AttractionswithAsh it was. just out the centre in a place called llanbadarn fawr. property was expensive. but fantastic place. keep up the good travels mate.
@@AttractionswithAsh ypur very welcome buddy, would love to go back aswell, We went to Borth and then to Aberystwyth went up on the furnicular rail way train there.
