I wonder if the other cats want something they go to Russ so he can “tell mom”. If so then the poor boy is like “PLEASE teach Teen to push the buttons so I don’t have to anymore!”
I can totally see that 🤣 I heard from someone else that his cats divide the cat "duties". One will get him if the food is empty , the other if the water is low. And watched them as the "food-messenger " talked to the "water messenger " to go get him to refill the water
Yes!!! “Teach her mom! “ and walks off to monitor fm nearby. What if she learns, then they talk w each other using buttons? Teen clearly wants to be part of it. Cool. Also my cats got into every palm like that I brought into the house. Perfect cat toy! But sometimes they crave greens so I get kitty grass. Aka wheatgrass. Much cheaper fm groc store. 🤓
She does look like she wants to push buttons she’s like oooo that looks like fun I wanna try it but I might need someone to teach me how to do it first why should Russ have all the button pushing fun
My interpretation was that Russ was saying, “yes, the other cat needs help and I am helping.”-something along those lines. I thought it was more of a statement than a question or request.
Totally agree with others and with you Russell was letting you know that Teen wants to learn the buttons. Teen bless it (not sure if a girl kitty or a boy kitty) trying to press the button. So special and it just shows cats understand that some cats are not as vocal and will get them that help. Good boy Russell 💖💖
I've seen cats do incredible smart and social things, so it might be true that he asks you to help teen learn to use the buttons, too ;-) You might be nuts, but then it is already two of us.
Yeah cats hep each other. When one of my cat gets stuck outside and we can't hear them the cat who's inside will often come find us, meow at us and lead us to the door so we let them in.
Russel is so smart that he can call a broken toy litter and wants you to keep his house clean so it remains a Happy Comfortable Space. He is absolutely smart enough to say "Yes buttons. Help with buttons." Someone has commented that Russ was declaring that he is helping, and that's a definite possibility, but I think he probably associates the 'help' button with the concept of 'I need someone else' more than just the fact that help = assistance.
He totally just answered your question to Teen for him cuz he couldn't answer on his own yet. 100%. It was like they had already "discussed" it in the way an older kid does with a little one who can't talk yet or is learning to talk still. Like they don't use words in the way we define communication to be as adults, but the older one just knows instinctual what the younger needs or wants, and in turn communicates those needs to us confused adults. That's how I saw this exchange of information to be similar to, that is. I'm a mom of animals and kids, and they all seem to have similar traits.
Very well said, I'm an animal trainer self taught..... cats can be trained on an individual basis❗️ ON the other hand dogs are easy to train, I don't think it may be possible to train dogs by button training, I'm pretty sure that's Cat territory for sure‼️®™️ Both animals brains are completely wired differently, in my opinion❗️
It’s - not impossible? I mean, our cats will retrieve favorite toys for each other, get worried when the other is unhappy or stuck somewhere, and have comforted each other when sick or upset. They are clearly social animals with some degree of empathy. It doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that russel would want his friends to all be able to use the buttons!
Yet another interpretation: Human (to Teen): Press a button Teen - doesn't press a button Russell: Presses a Button (yes) Human: yes what? Russell: I was trying to help
It sure seems like thats what he's asking since teen is sitting there they could have talked it over but im not sure if teen knows that the button needs to be pushed a bit harder lol
I think Teen is actually shy to press it. He/she looks like someone who wants to try new thing, but waiting for someone to push them coz they shy to say they want to try it. So extrovert extra friendly Russell understands Teen, thus helping the introvert a bit shy Teen by answering the mother's question. Coz Teen feels shy to try it. He/she wants somebody to push them to use it. Coz they dont want to admit they want to try it.
Glad to see another pair of cats using these. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find buttons for my cat, because she's a tiny (in size and weight) half Bombay and weighs around 5.6 pounds. She was the runt. Her name is Jetta. I made her a Tiktok channel, but haven't uploaded any videos yet because I want to show her baby pictures (they're on my family's phone), also have 0 ideas what to do for the channel. I also can't afford buttons right now. (Why are they so expensive?!) I want to see the button process first hand and document it, it fascinates me that our pets are actually communicating with us on this level. (I think they mostly understand what the buttons mean. Animals are pretty smart...most of the time.) Thanks for sharing Russ and Teen's journey with us. It's pretty awesome.
I think the cats may understand easier if she shortens her sentences. Instead of “what do you need help with?”, just say something like “help with what?” An example that comes to mind is ASL sentence structure. It’s more streamlined and condenses the point to a few gestures and expressions. I think the fewer unnecessary words they have to sift through, the quicker their understanding.
Yeah, Billi’s owner (from Billi speaks) usually uses the most simplified sentences to speak to billi. She’ll also hit the buttons to ask questions as well while she talks.
Either he was answering for Teen, or telling you to help Teen, or maybe communicating for Teen that he wants more help with the buttons 😆 who knows but Russ is a very smart kitty and Teen needs more time with it it seems. Although he seems to understand from watching Russ Edit: if you don’t have buttons for the cats names maybe you should add them for Russ to use from time to time btw 🤷🏼♀️ just a random idea
Good idea. Another cat-button-video maker that i follow does that (billy, mom, dad, aunty, grandma, friend) and the cat usually gets them right. Mom, billy and dad always but, Everyone else sometimes gets lumped into friend hehehe
Gotta love the "avoid the butthole" lol when I record my 4 cats I don't even think about it cuz, well, they're cats _and_ nudists. But I don't have to worry about some idiot reporting me for cats being cats on YT.
Did you know in the Bible it said in the garden of eden animals could talk to us just as we speak to each other? There was another Bible story where a man took his anger out on a donkey and kept beating it till God let the donkey speak and ask the man why he was beating him. I fully believe animals are capable of understanding us still, they just speak a different language that we're still learning.
No dears. What he said was I helped her. He was bragging. He is wise and he knows you can't help her othet than showing her. He gave you a yes for affirmative and then a help like yes I help her. He thought you wanted him to help.
You're not crazy, I've done clairvoyant readings where cats have come through, they understand what's going on have a similar understanding of things going on that you do, except they have a limited intellect and react on instinct but generally have more intuition than humans, because we don't know how to use ours, though we could learn. They are the same soul as humans and have the same intelligence inside, it only expresses differently.
I wonder if the other cats want something they go to Russ so he can “tell mom”. If so then the poor boy is like “PLEASE teach Teen to push the buttons so I don’t have to anymore!”

They already have a mutual language, so they’re unlikely to use the buttons between them.
She does look like she wants to push buttons she’s like oooo that looks like fun I wanna try it but I might need someone to teach me how to do it first why should Russ have all the button pushing fun

Teach her the buttons

I love this one, I must have missed it! See how fast russ came over to say yes, help! Awwwwww this is so neat and sweet!
🤣🤣🤣 Those cats aren't concerned about those buttons (maybe the owner is) they're just being cats 🤣🤣🤣 !! Love it!
"no" might mean something like "I don't know how to help Teen"
kid: why can't cats talk
parent: *this is why*
I believe some cats are so smart that we sometimes can't figure out what they want or what they are trying to say.🥰🐱
Yep. Russ is super smart. Teen is next in line to learn the buttons. He's giving you a heads up.
Lets Go Teen!! Lets Go Teen!!!
I love this whole saga! This is worthy of either a season opener, or a critically-timed cliffhanger!
Yes, and this way Russell and Teens can talk to each other too. Now, that's something to wrap your head around.💕
Russ definitely wants you to teach Teen.
They communicate with each other, but they know you understand more when Russ hits those buttons.
Russ totally told you to help Teen. Poor Teen was like "How does this WORK?? Why isn't it doing anything??"
he does seem to want to let teenie use buttons!
Animals are smarter than humans .this proves what I always thought.trust our pets they are compassionate towards each other we could learn from them.
Cats, hard to understand even with language 😂
Yes! He was asking you to help teen! Lol
Teen wants to learn but he doesn't like pushing down on the buttons. He probably wants a switchboard
I think he is like keep him away my button's help.
It looked to me like he was declaring his intention to help Teen with the buttons

Beautiful orange cats.
Imagine after you said "I love you!" Teenie pressed "no"😭
Really wish you had helped Teen press a button just then! Then again, you’ve trained Russ so well, so what do I know? :)
Next the cats will start talking to each other, after that… well we have movies about that sort of thing.

Any chance Russell was saying yes to the singing noise in the background a.k.a. he likes it and wants to encourage it? He pressed yes right after it.
Lol if that's the case he also thinks they need help.
