Lavoilette should be fired: he does not have his team in his hands. And hw benched Kakko, who is +10 in ratings. As Frank Said, he has been one of The most consistent player on offense. Who can defense too. That was a sign of desperation from the coach. Theywill bee sliding out on play offs , If this mess continues. Chris Drury is under pressure too.
It's not so much that ex-Sabres win the Cup, it's more like ex-Sabres happen to end up on a SC contender. Ryan O'Reilly was probably the only exception as St.Louis was not a favorite.. But Eichel joined a loaded Vegas team.. and let's not forget, Eichel's 1st season with Vegas (after his surgery), they didn't even make the playoffs.. Reinhart joined a very good Florida team who only made it to back-to-back Finals after the Tkachuk trade. Florida won the SC in Reinhart's third season on that team.. So if Jeff Skinner happens to win a Cup with the Oilers, is that further evidence of a Sabre curse?! OR - did he just luck out, and join a team that just appeared in the Finals, with the best player in the freakin world! When Leon Draisatl is the 2nd best player on your team..umm.. you've got a pretty good team!
@@ozzydo2314 I agree. Eichel and Reinhart were MVP level for their team winning the cups. Buffalo had one of the looking rebuilds but for some reason it just didn't work out for all the players.... they should be where the Leafs are right now. Eichel and Reinhart are having MVP type seasons again. They are among the best players in the NHL the last couple seasons.
@@ozzydo2314 I mean to add onto what this guy is saying, look at their score sheets in Buffalo vs elsewhere too. And quite frankly O'Reilly is one part of the problem despite him winning a Con Smythe the year he won the cup. It's been a lack of quality and veteran leadership within the organization that has led to this never ending rebuild alongside rushing talent into the NHL into positions they aren't fully ready for just yet. Like O'Reilly as an example, was traded for alongside Evander Kane to surround Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel with the veteran level talent needed to help them grow. I don't need to explain why Mr. Gambler wasn't a good leader for the locker room, but did you know that O'Reilly's first introduction to the team and people in Buffalo was when he was fighting a court case due to him driving his truck through a Tim Horton's while drunk? Did you know that the entire time he was here he had a drinking problem? They were good players, but as Eichel even said, the guys brought in to lead the team were not leading the team. It was a culture problem. And you see it when he moves to a team where that behavior wouldn't be tolerated by Staff or the other players. Now we move to Dahlin, where while he was surrounded by a lot of decent talent and was given good veteran experience beside him, it's been infamously reported on and confirmed by others that Eichel was not ready to be the Captain the year he was made captain. It was then confirmed when the team would perform better without their captain. So once again, we had an issue of leadership not really being leaders in the locker room for these guys. Now we move on to Power, and the main pairing he was with, is only 2 years older then him with a grand total of 55 games for his first season. Jokiharju being his next most consistent pairing with only 200 games and him only being 3 years older then him. That's not good. Then we go and look at players like Peyton Krebs and Alexander Nylander who have been rushed into the NHL and have absolutely struggled or even fallen back into different roles due to the players they were surrounded with or not being placed in a lighter league to learn. Sorry for the long response here, I've been getting annoyed with this organization and how they've handled young talent.
As the others have replied ... the point is that these players, not just could be, but would be key players on Stanley Cup winning teams. Trading these guys gave the illusion of doing something and responding, without adressing the real problem. The Sabres problem has not been the player's skills or attitude. It's a deeper problem in the structure off the roster. Good players in a bad organization.
Poogoola needs to fire all of the Fs. GM, coach, assistant coaches...everyone running the hockey operations. Clean house and get some successful seasoned veterans. Enough is enough!
Its the Granato ICE DANCER effect. He wanted a non physical, high skill team and sadly, we have a mediocre skilled team of non physical players with minimal heart and perseverance. This team will only OPEN UP when you have a physical threat out there to keep other teams honest imo. Consider bringing in Mathieu Olivier, Kastelic, Duhaime, Jeannot or even Foligno. Somebody of that magnitude would go a long way imo. Just thinking out loud here. Our biggest net front presence in the smallest player on the team (Benson) because he is FEARLESS. They others just want to dance and look for that pretty play it seems. Pucks to the net, physical play, and team defense can turn this shit show around.
Its a business. The sabres have of the higher ticket sales in the NHL, 16000 or so, and they dont spend up to the cap. The owner is making a killing. As a business its not broken. No need for a trade.
That's what happens when you have a clueless owner and a GM in way over his head. Pergola just gave a vote of confidence to this dumpster fire of a franchise
What moves? No player will waive his no trade clause to come to Buffalo. No trades out there until we want to give up 3 -1st rd picks, best prospects for some 32 year old forward signed for 6 years at 8-10 million and happens to be the only guy with no trade deal.
They're not hesitant, they're terrified to make a move. The owner, who says he loves hockey but hates the NHL, has hired puppet first-time NHL GMs three times in a row. Along the way, they've become a laughingstock amateur organization and are afraid of getting fleeced into dealng key SC components, like before.
Terry Pegula just hires the nearest bystander and wonders why nothing changed….😊

But eichel, reinhart and orielly were one of the main reasons each team wins the cup. You could argue they don't win it without them.

This is hour 3. Post hour 2 again, you posted hour 1 twice.b
I was at the Canucks Bruins game and wow I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a team play so bad before
Poogoola needs to fire all of the Fs. GM, coach, assistant coaches...everyone running the hockey operations. Clean house and get some successful seasoned veterans. Enough is enough!
The Sabres already did that. That’s why they went with a young team.
Oh my god. Says hour 2 but this is hour 3 and hour 2 was hour 1 BRUH
okay I thought I was going crazy at first lmao

I'm like, why is the best bets at the end of hour 2? Oh, for the love of... They mislabled the upload... Again...
Buffalo will never win if they can’t develop players outside the first round
