There is a huge difference between eastern Idaho and western Idaho. Western Idaho is not as cold and less snow but it is what makes all of Idaho great for those that love to live here.
Good video. Considering the extended cold temps in the winter, is there a more common home heating type (gas vs electric furnace, etc)? What does the typical monthly home heating cost look like?
The most effective and common heating source here is natural gas. If you live in the country, propane heat (think 1,000 gas tank on your property) is the most effective. I am on equal pay of $75 a month for the whole year. My home is about 2,500 sq feet.
Watch the weather reports and try to drive in daylight hours! Hopefully you have good tires and four wheel or all wheel drive. What's bringing you to IF?
Don't forget that you will need snow tires for the winter, and the salt on the roads will rust out your vehicle in a short time frame. BTW 21degrees F is not even cold. Idaho Falls record low was 38 degrees below zero F, and the state record is -60F. (Stay in California.)
21 F doesnt feel very cold to me anymore. I feel like any thing colder than -15 is stay inside weather. Most of my clients that move from California aren't too concerned with the weather, their main motivators are political/lifestyle related.
I liked the Snake River valley when I went thru there a couple of times....b.... Twin falls, Pocatello, ID Falls. You have a nice Mom vibe!
Thank you! I am a mom... so I'm glad I give the vibe 😂

yes there is! I spent my teen years in Boise. It is much colder in Idaho Falls and we get snow earlier and it stays longer.
