There are internal consideration mainly the owner has his own agenda where he wants credit for the successes and to blame others for the failures, he wants a coach who will defer to his meddling etc. Why do you think they've been bad this long because the first consideration is the owner wants to be involved and all the other considerations are secondary.
I know Mike's reputation took a hit over the last few years at WFAN. But you can't overstate his impact on sports media. Not only did I write for WFAN for a decade but I also wrote a feature about him for amNew York. Great to see the king doing his thing.
Mike is absolutely on point when it comes to Aaron Rodgers. The Jets were top five most penalized team and third most in dropped passes. People that think Aaron Rodgers is washed up has not watched the games. Focusing on fantasy football isn’t going to tell you everything about what’s going on in the game. I also didn’t like the fact that he treated mini camp like he didn’t care enough to get to know his teammates. If the Jets were winning games, nobody would even bring it up because of how bad the Jets played, it shows a complete lack of leadership from Aaron, but anybody that watches football and watched the Jets play this year. Can’t sit there and say Aaron Rodgers played bad. I mean he missed a couple of throws butplayers have to catch the ball too and not get penalized over 100 yards every game.
I agree with Mike Francesa. Jets are not that far with Aaron Rogers beacuse they lost so many close games because of poor coaching and poor playing calling. Get a good coach and add more pieces to a " Play off core" you are the BEST MIKE! Been listening since i was a kid growing up in Bronx in 1989. Geat job you did covering 911 and Sandy Storm.. @@kgarba9253 Rodgers is great. If this team were run by the KC staff this past year, Rodgers would have been an MVP candidate. The Jets' ownership and coaching staff were a spitshow.
Rodgers needs to go. He hasn’t been a winner in 4 years and even then he choked in the biggest games. Jets are going nowhere with Rodgers. What’s the point of going 11-5 for one year and then restarting. Rodgers already looks 50+
That was an astute assessment and statistical analysis of the Jets by Mike Francesa. I'm not a Jets fan or a Aaron Rodgers fan so my emotions are not tied to this decision. I'm a football fan. If they're are smart, the Jets will bring him back, but they're not intelligent. The question is does Rodgers truly want to come back to the Jets. I was intrigue last year with the Jets to see what Aaron would do for the team. The dude gave the Jets 35 million of his own money. That's crazy! I would've never done that. Four plays into last season your LT missed the block. He was supposed to cut dude and he didn't. Watch the tape, Three plays before that Aaron was running for his life. Just go look at plays. His offensive line couldn't block anybody. Subsequently, Rodgers tears his Achilles. Nevertheless, I saw most of the Jets televised games, Rodgers is directly responsible for three loses. The rest of those loses are attributed to the Jets horrible kicking game (3 lost games) and a terrible defense that's giving up last minutes game ending drives when Rodgers had already given the Jets the lead (6 lost games). How many time does Aaron have to win the game for you in the last minute. The Jets led the NFL in dropped passes, and officially Aaron had six dropped touchdown passes. If I'm Aaron Rodgers, I'm out of there. I would go to a team that has a good offensive line that know how to run block, and with receivers that know how to catch the ball. And a team that has a good defense that's not giving up last minutes game ending drives to lose the games. If Aaron Rodgers gets that, he's going to be trouble, and he will be two years remove for the Achilles injury. He's going to move much better on the football field. I have a friend that had that injury, and he said after two years he was back to normal. If Aaron is smart, he will leave the Jets with the Comeback Player of the Year Award.

In Rex's last couple of years with the Jets, the offense was ranked 29th & 30th in the league & his defense (which is supposed to be his strength) was ranked 19th and 26th.
